해양 탄성파 탐사 결과로 본 한반도 남동부연안 4기 단층의 분포와 특성 (Distribution and characteristics of Quaternary faults in the coastal area of the southeastern Korean Peninsula: Results from a marine seismic survey)

  • 스파커와 12채널 스트리머, 그리고 휴대용 기록기를 이용하여 고리원전 연안에서 탄성파탐사를 수행함으로써 4기 단층의 분포와 특성을 파악하였다. 스트리머의 채널간격은 6.25 m이며 스파커는 500 Hz까지의 음파를 발생시키므로 수평 및 수직분해능이 매우 높은 자료를 얻을 수 있었다. 조사지역에는 한반도의 동남부 해안을 따라 분포하는 mud belt를 구성하는 홀로세 퇴적물이 30-40 m의 두께로 쌓여 있다. 조사지역 전체에서 홀로세와 플라이스토세의 경계를 이루는 반사면은 매우 뚜렷하며 천부가스층의 분포도 확인되었다. 조사지역내에서 다수의 4기 단층들이 발견되는데 이들은 수직에 가까운 경사를 가지며 남북방향으로 연장되고 있다. 이들 단층들은 수백 m의 간격으로 배열되어 있으며 지역적으로 인장력에 의해 형성된 특성을 보여주기도 하지만 대체로 압축력이 우세한 영역에서 형성된 것으로 해석된다. 홀로세 전기동안 해침과 관련된 침식충진 퇴적층으로 해석되는 지층을 자르는 단층들도 지역적으로 발견되었다. Mud belt를 구성하는 퇴적층 내에 분포하는 천부가스는 균열이 생긴 단층면을 따라 올라온 것 같은 양상을 보여주기도 한다. 동해를 형성시킨 지구조 운동이 마이오세 후기 이후 약해졌지만 그 이후에 한반도의 남동연안에서 단층운동이 활발하였음은 아직도 정상보다 뜨거운 맨틀영역에 속하는 이 지역이 지체구조적으로 안정되지 못함을 지시한다.

취성파괴수준과 파괴개시시점에 관한 진삼축 모형실험연구 (True Triaxial Physical Model Experiment on Brittle Failure Grade and Failure Initiation Stress)

  • 상대적으로 저심도에 건설되는 암반구조물의 경우 단층이나 절리 등 암반 내 존재하는 불연속면이 굴착 후 생성된 경계면과의 교차에 의해 구조적인 형태의 파괴가 지배적으로 발생하나, 고심도에 건설되는 경우 높은 현지응력과 굴착에 따른 유도응력으로 인해 공동 경계면에서 스폴링이나 슬래빙과 같은 취성파괴가 발생할 수 있다. 취성파괴는 암반구조물의 안정성을 약화시키는 주된 원인으로, 고심도 영역에서 암반구조물의 안정성을 확보하기 위하여 응력조건에 따라 발생하는 취성파괴의 개시시점, 파괴수준 및 파괴범위 등과 같은 파괴특성이 규명되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 고심도의 암반구조물에서 발생할 수 있는 취성파괴의 파괴수준 및 개시시점과 재하응력사이의 관계를 정량적으로 평가하고자 진삼축 응력조건을 구현할 수 있는 모형실험장치를 설계, 제작하여 여러 응력조건에서 모형실험을 수행하였다. 공동주변에서 발생한 파괴수준을 육안관찰과 미소파괴음 발생양상에 의해 3단계로 구분하고, 진삼축 응력조건에 따라 제시하였다. 그 결과 파괴수준은 공동단면에 작용하는 재하응력$(S_v,\;S_{H2})$ 뿐 아니라 공동 축에 평행한 재하응력 $S_{H1}$에 영향을 받으며, $S_{H1}$$S_{H2}$의 크기가 증가할수록 동일한 $S_v$에서 파괴수준은 감소하였다. 파괴개시점 역시 $S_{H1}$$S_{H2}$의 증가에 따라 파괴개시를 위한 응력수준은 증가하였으며, 다중회귀분석을 통해 파괴개시시점과 진삼축 응력조건의 관계식을 도출하였다.

ADCP 표층유속 자료처리방법 개선을 통한 영산강 하구 표층 방류수 이류속도 산정 (Estimation of the Freshwater Advection Speed by Improvement of ADCP Post-Processing Method Near the Surface at the Yeongsan Estuary)

  • 연안에서 관측된 Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler(ADCP) 유속자료의 10-20%는 음향반사 측면효과로 인하여 일반적으로 사용하지 않는다. 본 연구는 ADCP의 사용되지 않았던 자료를 복구하여 영산강 하구에서 저조시 방류되는 담수의 경계면 이류속도를 구하고 이를 통해 담수 유량과 수층의 역학적 안정도를 보다 정확하게 계산하여 하구 내 혼합 환경을 잘 이해하고자 한다. 현장관측은 2011년 8월 영산강의 하구언 전면과 고하도 부근 두 정점에서 한달 동안 실시하였으며, 방류수의 이류속도는 유효 유속 판정에 상관도, 퍼센트굿, 그리고 유속 히스토그램의 엄격한 기준을 적용한 ADCP 후처리방법을 적용하여 복원하였다. 또한, 같은 수로에 위치한 두 정점에서 이류하는 퇴적물의 농도피크시간을 토대로 퇴적물의 이류속도(Sediment Advection Speed)를 계산하여 방류수 이류속도를 비교 검증하였다. 퇴적물의 이류속도를 방류시 ADCP의 표층유속과 비교하였을 때, 방류량이 $2.0{\times}10^7$톤 보다 크면 두 속도값이 유사하고, 그보다 적을 경우에는 퇴적물의 이류속도가 약간 크게 산정되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 방류가 발생할때 담수이류속도(Freshwater Advection Speed)는 바닥으로부터 $0.8{\times}$수심의 유속보다 평균 0.8 m/s 정도 크기 때문에, 방류가 증가하는 시기에 새롭게 계산된 방류수의 속도를 포함한 순유출량(=수심 및 조석주기로 적분된 흐름)을 계산하면, 그 방향이 하구언으로 들어오는 방향에서 빠져나가는 방향으로 바뀌는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 표층 담수의 속도가 더해짐으로써 표층 속도쉬어와 리차드슨 수의 분포가 바뀜을 관찰할 수 있었기 때문에 표층 해수의 안정도를 해석함에 있어 실제 방류수 유속의 중요성을 알 수 있었다. 향후 유속과 함께 수온과 염분의 장기적인 관측이 수행된다면 담수 방류에 따른 성층의 생성과 소멸, 그리고 관련 부유퇴적물의 변동에 대해서도 보다 정확하게 파악할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

동중국해 북부대륙붕에 발달한 니질 퇴적체의 탄성파 연구 (A Seismic Study on Muddy Sediment Deposits in the Northern Shelf of the East China Sea)

  • 동중국해 북부 대륙붕에 발달한 후기 홀로세 니질 퇴적체의 분포양상과 층서의 발달 특성을 밝히기 위해 고해상도 Chirp 탄성파 단면 자료를 이용하여 분석하였다. 고해상 탄성파 단면도상에서 음향기반암(기저 경계면 B)위에 2개의 퇴적층서(Unit 1과 2)가 나타나며 이들은 침식 경계면(중간 반사면 M)으로 경계된다. 하위 퇴적층서 Unit 1은 음향학적으로 평행 또는 준평행 반사층리와 수로 충진 퇴적상이 나타난다. 상위 퇴적층서 Unit 2는 반투명 내부 퇴적상과 7m 이하 퇴적두께의 렌즈형태로 발달해 있다. 시퀀스 층서분석으로부터 이들 퇴적층서는 마지막 저해수준 이후 형성되었다. 해침 퇴적체(Unit 1)는 최후 빙기동안 형성된 층서 경계면위에 바로 분포한다. 해침 퇴적체는 침식곡의 염하구 환경하에서 하천, 델타, 그리고 조간대 환경의 복합 퇴적물로 구성된다. 해침 퇴적체 바로 위는 침식 저지형의 최대 범람면이 나타난다. 최대 범람면위에 발달한 고해수준 퇴적체(Unit 2)은 저지대를 충진하는 니질 퇴적체로 구성된다. 니질 퇴적체는 제주도 남쪽 약 140km 떨어진 곳에 마치 태풍 같은 모양의 원형 형태로 수심 약 60-90m 사이에 집중적으로 발달해 있다. 이 퇴적체의 분포 면적과 부피는 각각 약 $3,200km^2$와 약 $10.7\times1109m^3$이다. 니질 퇴적체의 기원은 고황하와 양자강에서 배출된 부유퇴적물의 혼합기원으로 해석된다. 원형의 분포형태는 북부 동중국해에 발달한 반시계 방향의 와류 순환계로 인해 형성된 것으로 판단된다.

유도초음파를 이용한 강관보강다단 그라우팅의 건전도 평가 (Integrity evaluation of grouting in umbrella arch methods by using guided ultrasonic waves)

  • 강관보강다단 그라우팅은 터널공사에 널리 적용되는 공법으로, 터널지반의 안정성 증대 및 차수효과를 얻을 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 유도초음파를 이용한 강관보강다단 그라우팅의 건전도 평가 기법을 제시하고, 현장 적용성을 평가하는 것이다. 강관의 그라우팅 충진률에 따른 주파수 변화를 파악하기 위해 실내실험 (자유구속조건 및 지중근입조건)을 수행하였으며, 건전도 평가시스템의 현장 적용성을 검증하기 위해 현장실험을 수행하였다. 강관의 두부를 해머로 타격하여 유도초음파가 발생되며, 발생된 유도초음파는 선단에서 반사되어 두부로 되돌아 온다. 반사된 유도초음파는 두부에 설치된 AE센서에 의해 수신된다. 강관보강다단 그라우팅의 건전도 평가 모델은 충진률 25 %, 50 %, 75 %, 100 %로 제작되었으며, 자유구속조건 및 지중근입조건의 실내실험으로 수행되었다. 신호처리를 위해 고속 푸리에 변환과 웨이브렛 변환을 수행하였다. 실내실험 결과, 유도초음파의 전파속도 변화는 크지 않았으나, 그라우팅 충진률에 따른 주 주파수의 변화가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 강관보강다단 그라우팅의 충진률이 증가할수록 반사파의 주 주파수의 크기가 감소했다. 현장실험은 이미 설치된 강관보강다단 그라우팅에 대해 수행되었으며, 실내실험과 동일한 기법으로 분석하였다. 현장 조건의 실험체에서도 유도초음파의 반사파를 쉽게 수집할 수 있었으며, 이에 대한 주파수 영역에 대한 분석도 가능했다. 본 연구의 결과는 유도초음파를 이용한 주파수 분석 기법은 강관보강다단 그라우팅 건전도 평가에 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

탄성파 및 중자력자료에 의한 울릉분지의 지각특성 및 구조 연구 (Crustal Characteristics and Structure of the Ulleung Basin, the East Sea (Japan Sea), Inferred from Seismic, Gravity and Magnetic Data)

  • 울릉분지의 탄성파 단면에서 반사특성에 의해서 분류된 4개의 단위 퇴적층까지의 심도와 두께를 산출하고 분포도를 작성하였으며, 이를 중력 및 자기이상분포와 대비하여 울릉분지 심부구조의 특성을 해석하였다. 울릉분지 퇴적층은 중앙부에서 3,000-4,000 m이나 국지적으로 6,000m까지 두꺼워 지며, 북동쪽에서 남서쪽으로 두꺼운 지역의 분포가 넓어지는 양상을 보인다. 음향기반은 분지 중앙부에서 5,000 m, 남서단 및 서단에서 최대 7,500 m까지 지역적으로 깊어지며 전체적으로 남서-북동 방향의 긴 저지대를 이루면서 음향기반 상부 퇴적층들의 구조에 직접적인 영향을 주고 있다. 울릉분지 서쪽 및 남쪽 가장자리의 저중력분포는 두꺼운 퇴적층을 갖는 기반함몰대및 대륙-해양의 전이지각의 존재를 반영하며, 특히 기반함몰대는 탄성파 자료에 근거한 것과 같이 국지적이지 않고 북쪽의 한국대지 남단에서부터 울릉분지의 남단까지 주변부를 따라 연속적으로 발달하고 있다. 분지 중앙부에서 고중력이상분포는 북동단이 넓고 남서단쪽으로 좁아지는데, 이것은 고밀도 지각과 맨틀의 천부 존재를 지시한다. 울릉분지 중앙부의 북서부 및 남동부 가장자리를 따라 나타나는 한 쌍의 자기이상 선상분포는 탄성파 자료에서 밝혀진 분지내 기반암 저지대의 경계부와 대체적으로 일치한다. 이 자기선상 분포는 울릉분지가 해저확장하면서 형성된 대륙지각과 해양지각간 전이대의 열개된 지각틈새를 따라 관입 혹은 분출된 일련의 화성암체와 관련이있다. 탄성파 속도 분포가 울릉분지 중앙부에 해양지각이 존재할 가능성을 시사하는 것에 근거한다면 울릉분지내해양지각은 이 한 쌍의 자기선구조를 경계로 그 안쪽인 남서부에서 좁고 북동쪽으로 가면서 120 km까지 넓어지는 한정된 지역에만 분포하는 것으로 해석된다. 분지지각의 남쪽경계가 휘어져 있는 것은 필리핀판 등 해양지각판이 일본열도에 충돌할 때 받은 압축력의 영향으로 울릉분지 지괴가 변형 받았다는 것을 지시한다.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. Optimal stimulus parameters, which can minimize muscle fatigue and can achieve effective muscle contraction were determined in slow and fast muscles in Sprague-Dawley rats. Stimulus patterns of our stimulator were designed to simulate electromyographic activity monitored during locomotion of normal subjects. Muscle types of the lower extremity were classified according to their mechanical property of contraction, which are slow muscle (msoleus m.) and fast muscle (medial gastrocneminus m., rectus femoris m., vastus lateralis m.). Optimal parameters of electrical stimulation for slow muscles were 20 Hz, 0.2 ms square pulse. For fast muscle, 40 Hz, 0.3 ms square pulse was optimal to produce repeated contraction. Higher stimulus intensity was required when synergistic muscles were stimulated simultaneously than when they were stimulated individually. Electrical stimulation for each muscle was designed to generate bipedal locomotion, so that individual muscles alternate contraction and relaxation to simulate stance and swing phases. Portable electrical stimulator with 16 channels built in microprocessor was constructed and applied to paraplegic patients due to lumbar cord injury.
