Agricultural tractors are utilized on rough road such as rice paddy field. Therefore, static and dynamic load should be considered when simulating structural analysis with finite element analysis (FEA). But it consumes a lot of time and effort to measure dynamic load because of difficulty and complexity in modeling various field working load conditions and kinematics of machinery. In this paper, to reduce the efforts, 4-post road simulator is developed for agricultural tractor like modeling commercial vehicle. In proving ground test in our facility, I measured acceleration of front/rare axle and strain of body frame to validate input loads. The acceleration is used for defining input loads. And strain is validated with dynamics analysis including mode superposition method. As a result, I was able to calculate 4-post input road profiles, which represent similar proving ground profile with good reliability.

In twin spool aero-engine, there may be a S shaped annular duct between high pressure and low pressure spools. The flow passing this S shaped duct experiences the flow acceleration and deceleration due to the convex and concave surface of the duct as well as the increase of blockage according to the boundary layer growth along the surfaces. So, the high pressure compressor which is located behind the S shaped duct is influenced by the non-uniform flow field generated by the geometry of inlet duct. To study the influence of the S shaped duct on the centrifugal stage, performance tests were implemented for the compressor with straight cylindrical inlet duct and with S shaped inlet duct, respectively. The test results showed that the performance, such as pressure ratio and efficiency, of the compressor with S shaped duct was worse than that of the compressor with cylindrical duct. And the compressor with S shaped duct had reduced maximum flow rate around design speed. To investigate the cause of performance degradation, flow anlaysis was performed for the impeller in front of which is located S shaped annular duct. The result of CFD showed the strong acceleration of the flow in the axial direction around the inducer tip region which caused the increase of relative mach number and the decrease of incidence angle of the flow.

RC(Reinforced Concrete) structures are exposed to various exterior conditions, and the performances of both chloride resistance and freezing/thawing action are evaluated for those exposed to corrosive environment-sea shore. Recently developed FRP Hybrid Bars which is coated with glass fiber and epoxy with core steel has an engineering advantage of higher Elasticity than FRP rod. In this work, corrosion resistance, weight loss, and bond strength are evaluated for the FRP Hybrid Bar tested through freezing/thawing action for 300cycles. The double coated FRP Hybrid Bar shows the least weight loss without defection due to freezing/thawing action. Bond strength in FRP Hybrid Bar increases to 120% of normal steel through torturity effect with Si-coating. Bond strength in normal steel shows 0.86~0.89times in 3-day corrosion acceleration and 0.35~0.38times in 5-day corrosion acceleration, however, that in FRP Hybrid Bar shows little changes in bond strength before and after freezing/thawing action.
Recent studies reveal that grip forces during the hand-arm vibration are most significant for the genesis of vibration-induced white linger syndrome. Therefore, exerted grip forces and skin temperatures of fingers were regarded as dependent variables in experiments and the effects of grip temperature, noise, pushing force, vibration and the combined effect of vibration and pushing force were studied. The objectives of the present study were, first, to varify and compare the changes of grip force affected by grip temperature, noise, pushing force, vibration and the combined effect of vibration and pushing force and, second, to observe the reaction of finger skin temperature affected by above factors. Forty-six healthy male students ($25.07{\pm}2.85$) participated in five systematically permuted trials, which endured 4 minutes each other. Experiments were executed in a special chamber with an air temperature of 21C. In each experiments, the subjects were exposed to five experiment types: (1) grip force of 25N only, (2) pushing force of 50N, (3) acceleration of vibration $7.1m/sec^2(z-direction)$, (4) pink noise of 95 dB (A) and (5) combination of pushing force 50N and acceleration of vibration $7.1m/sec^2$. A repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed on the grip force to test whether it was affected by noise, pushing force, vibration and pushing force. The present results show that vibration was significantly related to the increase of grip force, but the other factors, such as pushing force, noise and grip temperature had no signigicant influence on the increase of grip force, and that the reaction of finger skin temperature were significantly affected by the skin temperature at start of experiment and grip temperature, not grip force and other experimental conditions. Therefore, we suggest that the management for decreasing the grip force is meaningful to prevent the occurrence of Hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS).
The purpose of this study was to investigate the EMG characteristics of driver's upper extremity and driving performance for manipulating brake and accelerator pedal by using left and right hand control devices during simulated driving. The people with disabilities in the lower limb have problems in operation of the motor vehicle because of functional loss for manipulating brake and accelerator pedal. Therefore, if hand control device is used for adaptive driving controls in people with lower limb impairments, the disabled people can improve their quality of life by driving a motor vehicle. Six subjects were participated in this study to evaluate driving performance and muscle activities for operating brake and accelerator pedal by using two different hand controls (steering column mounted hand control and floor mounted hand control) in driving simulator. We measured EMG activities of six muscles (posterior deltoid, middle deltoid, triceps, biceps, flexor carpi radialis, and extensor carpi radialis) during pushing and pulling movement with different hand controls for acceleration and braking. STISim Drive 3 software was used for the performance test of different hand control devices in straight lane course for time to reach target speed and brake reaction time. While pulling the hand control lever toward the driver, normalized EMG activities of middle deltoid, triceps and flexor carpi radialis in subjects with disabilities were significantly increased (p < 0.05) compared to the normal subjects. It was also found that muscle responses of posterior deltoid were significantly increased (p < 0.05) when using the right hand control than left hand control. While pushing the hand control lever forward away from the driver, normalized EMG activities of posterior deltoid, middle deltoid and extensor carpi radialis in subjects with disability were significantly increased (p < 0.05) compared to the normal subjects. It was shown that muscle responses of middle deltoid, biceps and extensor carpi radialis were significantly increased when using the right hand control than left hand control. Brake reaction time and time to reach target speed in subjects with disability was increased by 12% and 11.3% on average compared to normal subjects. The subjects with physical disabilities showed a tendency to relatively slow acceleration at the straight lane course.

In this study, a new type of eccentric cam was used for the development of a small size reducer with a two-shift reduction ratio while maintaining the same volume as the existing one-shift speed reducer. Therefore, a two-shift speed reducer was designed using the concept of a continuously variable transmission applied to automobiles. The cam was designed to have an eccentric shape with a $180^{\circ}$ phase difference to act as a tensioner to minimize slip by squeezing the V-belt connected to the deceleration pulley and the acceleration pulley, respectively. The cam was designed to have a diameter of 35mm and an outer diameter of 18mm so that the outer portion of the v-belt could contact the cam perfectly. A pulley with a diameter of 50.8mm was installed on the low speed pulley input shaft for deceleration and a pulley with a diameter of 76.2mm was provided on the output shaft. In the high-speed pulley for acceleration, a pulley with a diameter of 76.2mm is provided on the input shaft, and a pulley with a diameter of 50.8mm is provided on the output shaft. Based on the design details, the power transmission efficiency test and the heating characteristics of the transmission were tested to verify the feasibility. In addition, through validation, the suitability of the reducer was demonstrated.
In this paper we have attempted to bring the wavelet transform theory to the dynamic response conversion algorithm. This algorithm is proposed for the problem of estimating the displacement data by defining the transformed responses. In this algerian, the displacement response can be obtained from the measured acceleration records by integration without requiring the knowledge of the initial velocity and displacement information. The advantage of the wavelet transform over either a pure spectral or temporal decomposition of the signal is that the pertinent signals features can be characterized in the time-frequency plane. In the response conversion procedure using the wavelet decomposition signals, not only the static component can be extracted, but also the dynamic displacement component can be separated by the structural mode from the identified displacement response. The applicability of the technique is tested by an example problem using the real bridge's superstructure under several cases of moving load. If the reliability of the identified responses is ensured, it is expected that the proposed method for estimating the impact factor can be useful in the bridge's dynamic test. This method can be useful in those practical cases when the direct measurement of the displacement is difficult as in the dynamic studies of huge structure.

Traffic jam and congestion in urban areas has caused the need to improve the utility of underground space. In response, research on underground structures is increasingly being conducted. Notably, a double-deck tunnel is one of the most widely used of all those underground structures. This double-deck tunnel is separated by the middle slab into the upper and lower roadways. Both vehicle load and earthquake load cause the middle slab to exhibit dynamic behavior. Earthquake-related response characteristics, in particular, are highly complex and difficult to interpret in a theoretical context, and thus experimental research is required. The aim of the present study is to assess the stability of a double-deck tunnel's middle slab of the Collapse Prevention Level and Seismic Category 1 with regard to the presence of vibration-damping Rubber Bearings. In vibration table tests, the ratio of similitude was set to 1/4. Linings and vibrating platforms were fixed during scaled model tests to represent the integrated behavior of the ground and the applied models. In doing so, it was possible to minimize relative behavior. The standard TBM cross-section for the virtual double-deck tunnel was selected as a test subject. The level of ground motion exerted on the bedrock was set to 0.154 g (artificial seismic wave, Collapse Prevention Level and Seismic Category 1). A seismic wave with the maximum acceleration of 0.154 g was applied to the vibration table input (bedrock) to analyze resultant amplification in the models. As a result, the seismic stability of the middle slab was evaluated and analyzed with respect to the presence of vibration-damping rubber bearings. It was confirmed that the presence of vibration-damping rubber bearings improved its earthquake acceleration damping performance by up to 40%.
The purpose of the study is to give basic data for the improvement of the skill and to show an exemplary position for squash club members or trainers thru a comparative analysis on the kinematics and kinetics variables on the forehand drive motion in playing squash. The objects of the research are divided into two sections, skilled group(n=8) and unskilled group(n=8). The skilled group is composed of professional players currently working and unskilled group is career of six month, both of lives in B city. In this research, to gather the data 3D motion analysis and test result analysis using force platform was used. The variables are duration, position, segment velocity, segment acceleration and etc. in using force platform. The results are as follows: 1. The duration per phase of the skilled is 0.18sec P1(DS) while that of unskilled is 0.32sec. in P2(FT), the duration of the skilled is 0.29sec, that of unskilled is 0.34sec. Average of the duration of the skilled is 0.48sec, while the unskilled, 0.66sec. 2. Regarding positional movements per event, the unskilled has a relatively higher position in center of gravity, shoulder joint, elbow joint compared with that of the skilled. Generally speaking, positions of the unskilled is higher than the skilled. 3. In segment velocity per event, R-shank, R-upper arm, R-forearm and racket. The skilled is faster than the unskilled. we found a big dig difference in shank. 4. In acceleration per event, there was a big difference in upper-arm and fore-arm of the impact. 5. The skilled group on the force platform shows relatively stable and regular changes while the unskilled shows unstable from the touch down to initial 20% the force value of central support period after the impact moment decreases rapidly and the center of gravity is not moved well. 6. The maximum force value of the skilled is 1019.7N. it is found 19.86% of the total duration. That of the unskilled is 639.2N, it is found 20.67% of total duration.

A futuristic locomotion system called Hyperloop is projected for driving at ulta-high speed, levitated in the tube. In hyperloop localization of pods on the linear synchronous motor is essential for pod driving. precision localization is required for acceleration and deceleration of pods driving at speed above 1,000km/h, and also required for adjusting the pod speed driving at this very-high speed to maintain inter-vehicle distance. In this work, a new scale of localization is challenged by modified laser surface velocimeter. In acceleration the speed of a virtual pod is calculated along its displacement measured by laser reflection. Under the requirement of precise localization of the pod driving at ultra-high speed, a displacement measurement device, which detects the difference in reflections from tiles passing by the pod, is developed and evaluated through performance test. Tests of pod speeds below 500km/h have showed exact localization results of the precision in centimeters, and tests of pod speeds above 500km/h have showed localization with very low error rates under 0.1%. For the measurement above 500km/h, future works would pursue the error rate converges to zero.
