Mites of the genus Antennoseius of family Ascidae are free-living soil predator mostly observed on the open grass field. In Korea, only two species, Antennoseius imbricatus Ishikawa, 1969 and A. japonicus Ishikawa, 1979 were reported in 1990s. Recent series of soil acarine biodiversity survey in Gyeongbuk province during 2009-2015. We recovered a new record of Antennoseius avius (Karg, 1976) to Korean inventory from riparian grassland. Detailed description of the species as well as the identification key to the genus and species were provided.

Mite of the genus Hypoaspis of family Laelapidae are free-living soil predators mostly observed on the open grass field. Five species in the genus Hypoaspis were listed in Korean Catalog (NIBR, 2013) without detail information. Recent series of soil acarine biodiversity survey in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon provinces during 2009-2015 recovered a new record of Hypoaspis sardous (Canestrini, 1884) to Korean inventory from apple orchard and riparian grass land. Detailed description and morphological comparison with the related species, H. aculeifer which is well known biological control agent of horticultural crop pests were provided with identification keys.

Sixteen species of macrochelid mites were collected on the surface of scarab dung beetles in Mount Gede-Pangrango National Park, West Java, Indonesia. Of these, one species, Macrocheles gedeensis sp. nov. is described here as new to science. The other fifteen species were Holostaspella katakurai Hartini and Takaku, 2003, H. oblonga Hartini and Takaku, 2010, H. villosa Hartini and Takaku, 2010, Neopodocinum halimunense Hartini and Takaku, 2003, N. subjaspersi Hartini and Takaku, 2003, Neopodocinum sp., Macrocheles dispar (Berlese, 1910), M. entetiensis Hartini and Takaku, 2005, M. hallidayi Walter and Krantz, 1986, M. jabarensis Hartini and Takaku, 2003, M. kraepelini (Berlese, 1905), M. pumilus Hartini, Dwibadra and Takaku, 2009, M. turgoensis Hartini, Dwibadra and Takaku, 2009, M. sukabumiensis Hartini and Takaku, 2003, and M. sukaramiensis Takaku, 2001.

Assocations of wingless mites with winged arthropods highlight important life history strategies and ecological interactions. Here we report a mesostigmatan mite species association with an earth-boring dung beetle. Mite spciemens were collected from the soil of organic apple orchards in the Province of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Republic of Korea, and cattle dung was collected from grassland in Mongolia. The species was identified as Alliphis necrophilus Christie, 1983 (Acari: Eviphididae). This is the first report of any species in the genus Alliphis in Korea. Some descriptive details and ecological remarks are also provided.

Four feather mite species, Grallobia fulicae (Trouessart, 1885), Grallobia gallinulae Gaud, 1968, Grallolichus proctogamus (Trouessart, 1885) and Megniniella gallinulae (Buchholz, 1869), previously unrecorded in South Korea are reported. Specimens of Grallobia fulicae and Grallolichus proctogamus were collected from the eurasian coot, Fulica atra in Cheongju-si. Grallobia gallinulae and M. gallinulae were found on the common moorhen, Gallinula chloropus in Yesan-gun. The genera Grallobia Hull, 1934, Grallolichus Gaud, 1960 and Megniniella Gaud, 1958 are new records for South Korea. Here, we provide illustrations and morphological descriptions of these four feather mite species as well as the partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) as DNA barcodes.

During a study of acarine biodiversity, a phytoseiid mite was collected from soil samples under the rose of Sharon plants. The specimen was identified as Neoseiulus harrowi Collyer, 1964, which was previously only reported in New Zealand and Australia, and is thus a new record for Korean phytoseiid fauna. Neoseiulus harrowi is morphologically similar to N. makuwa (Ehara), but distinctly different in two characters: shorter length of two posterior setae (Z4, Z5) and a forked atrium of spermatheca longer in N. makuwa than in N. harrowi in females.

Two feather mites, Scutomegninia phalacrocoracis Dubinin and Dubinina, 1940 and Ptiloxenus major ($M{\acute{e}}gnin$ and Trouessart, 1884) are reported for the first time in Korea. Specimens of S. phalacrocoracis and P. major were collected from the great cormorant, Phalacrocorax carbo and great crested grebe, Podiceps cristatus, respectively. The genera Scutomegninia Dubinin, 1951 and Ptiloxenus Hull, 1934 are also new reports for South Korea. Here, we provide morphological descriptions and illustrations of these two species. Additionally, we provide partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) as DNA barcodes.

A halacarid species of Scaptognathus teuriensis $Ab{\acute{e}}$ is recorded from Korea on the basis of the specimens collected from littoral sandy sediments at Dokdo Island, the easternmost island off Uleung Island of South Korea. Korean specimens coincide well with the key characters in the original description for types from Hokkaido, Japan, such as male genitoanal plate comprising only pars sclerosum, bipartite female genitoanal plate with six perigenital setae, rounded posterior margin of anterior dorsal plate, second and fifth dorsal setae both positioned at membranous cuticle, leg chaetotaxy of bipectinate setae on tibiae I-IV of 4-2-2-2, and tarsi of all legs armed with paired large lateral claws with accessary teeth and small median claw. Redescription based on Korean specimens and scanning electron microscope photomicrographs are provided herein. This is the first record of the genus from Korea.

화목류 및 관상수에 기생하는 먼지응애류에 대한 1993년도 조사 중 국내미기록종 Tarsonemus속 4종이 동정되었다. Tarsonemus bilobatus Suski, 1965. T. evodiae Ito, 1964, T. smithi Ewing, 1939, T. takaoensis Ito, 1964 등 4종의 형태적 특징에 대하여 보고한다.

전보에서 외국산에 의해 기록된 한반도산 날개응애류 26종과 필자가 채집한 미기록종 29종 도합 65종의 목록을 발표한 바 있다. 그 후의 채집품을 조사결과 다수의 미기록종이 발견되었기에 전보를 증보하여 발표한다. 이로서 한반도산 날개응애류는 29상과, 59과, 99속, 158종이 되었다. 이밖에 미정리분중에도 약 50중의 미기록종이 포함되어 있으므로 한국산 날개응애류는 200여종이 되는 셈이지만 한국에 실재하고 있는 종수는 그 $2\~3$배가 될 것으로 추측된다. 또한 분포를 논할 단계는 아니지만 일본과의 공통종은 69종, 구주와의 공통종은 51종, 3자공통종은 55종이 되어 한반도 고유종은 34종이 된다. 그러나 우리나라와 인접해 있는 중국대륙의 날개응애상이 밝혀지면 고유종은 줄어들고 중국과의 공통종이 많아질 것이다.
