This study aimed to investigate effects of peer feedback types and feedback acceptance levels on academic achievement in project-based learning. The participants were 70 middle-school students taking an English course. They were divided into corrective and suggestive feedback groups. These participants were asked to create user-created content (UCC) as an individual task and provide peer feedback on a peer's UCC in the same type of feedback group. Results showed that there were significant differences in academic achievement according to peer feedback types (corrective vs. suggestive) and feedback acceptance levels (high vs. low). In particular, the suggestive peer feedback group had higher academic achievement than the corrective peer feedback group. Moreover, the group with a high level of feedback acceptance gained higher academic achievement than the group with a low level of feedback acceptance. Moreover, there was an interaction effect between peer feedback types and feedback acceptance on academic achievement. These results indicate that peer feedback types and feedback acceptance should be considered for effective peer feedback activity. These findings provide practical implications for the design and implementation of peer feedback activity in project-based learning.

Purpose: The current challenges faced by nurses in providing high quality and evidence-based practice (EBP) supported care require profound changes in nursing education. To understand the changes needed to strengthen EBP education, the researchers examined EBP self-efficacy, course needs, barriers, and facilitators for academic faculty and clinical nurse preceptors to teach EBP in undergraduate nursing curricula. Methods: For this study, mixed-method approach was used with survey data collected from 73 academic faculty members from 54 universities. Further, 17 clinical nurse preceptors in three academic hospitals provided qualitative data for exploration of barriers and facilitators to teaching EBP. Data analysis used SPSS/WIN 21.0 and content analysis. Results: Quantitative data showed that although the overall level of self-efficacy among faculty was moderate, the implementation levels were relatively low. Most faculty members agreed with the need to integrate EBP courses into undergraduate nursing curricula. The qualitative data showed that the barriers to teaching EBP were lack of knowledge, skill, and initial investment for teaching EBP; hierarchical, rules-oriented nursing culture; potential learner overloads in processing EBP; limited research dissemination and application. Facilitators were identified as the importance of EBP to the profession of nursing; collaboration in schools and hospitals; and continuing education in teaching/utilizing EBP. Conclusion: The findings indicate that for successful integration of EBP ni nursing education there is a need for faculty training and integrated EBP courses.

This study examines the relationship between instruction using ICT and the students' moral judgement and academic achievement in ethics course in a middle school, and analyses the difference of learning effects according to gender. For the purpose of this study, the two hypotheses are established. One is that there would be a significant difference in learning effect between ICT instruction groups and teacher-centered instruction groups. The other is that there would be a significant difference in learning effect between male groups and female groups. This study sampled 144 students of four classes from the first graders of a middle school in Taejon. For experimental treatment, this study designed two instructional programs: ICT-using instruction and teacher-centered instruction. ICT-using instruction program was applied to two classes(72 students), and teacher-centered instruction program to the other two classes(72 students). The experimental design of the study was the pretest-posttest control group design. As a result of this study, the ICT-using instruction program influenced positively the students' moral judgement and its improvement. Concerning the degree of academic achievement, there was no significant difference between the ICT-using groups and the teacher-centered groups. The sex distinction among ICT-using groups does not make any significant difference in the moral judgement and academic achievement.
In the fourth industrial revolution, fashion students are expected to work with various technologies to show creativity. This study aimed to conduct project-based learning(PBL) in collaboration with industry experts to design and operate artificial intelligence(AI) in the practice subject of fashion curation through the industrial academic teaching method. We first looked at teaching methods and strategies incorporating PBL in various academic fields. Next, we analyzed fashion projects and fashion curation services applying AI. Then through the question-and-answer method and by consulting with industry experts, we developed a curriculum for AI fashion curation, applying PBL(fashion market and trend analysis; new styles and time, place, and occasion planning; AI machine learning data set production; curation model development; and evaluation) suitable for the university's educational environment, information technology company conditions, and fashion students. As part of a close cooperation system with the industry, we conducted a 15-week Fashion Project II (Capstone Design) course and evaluated the outcomes and student satisfaction with the course. Students were able to develop new style, and time, place, and occasion categories and to utilize strategies for AI fashion curation services reflecting the unique needs of Millennials and Generation Z. Students showed high satisfaction with the curriculum. Further, it was confirmed that the study successfully applied PBL in class using AI technology in fashion education.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of online blended learning(asynchronous online learning class 1+synchronous online learning class 2) method and discuss the applicability of online blended learning. In this study, we will analyze the differences in class satisfaction and academic achievement between asynchronous online learning and online blended learning classes, and discuss the strengths, weaknesses, and satisfactions of online blended learning. Methods : The subjects of this study were 39 of the occupational therapy students who took the 'child development' course. Asynchronous online learning class was applied for 1-6 weeks and online blended learning was applied for 9~14 weeks. The online blended learning class consisted of 1 hours synchronous online learning and 2 hours asynchronous online learning. For the asynchronous online learning, the screen recording program of OBS Studio was used, and for the synchronous online learning, the Zoom program was used. The results of course evaluation and academic achievement of students according to the type of lecture were compared, and a survey was conducted on the satisfaction of online blended learning. Results : The results of this study are as follows. First, satisfaction(A class: t=-4.19, p=.001, B class: t=-7.94, p=.00) with online blended learning classes was significantly higher than asynchronous online learning. Second, when applying online blended learning class, academic achievement(t=-10.58, p=.00) was significantly higher. Third, the online blended learning class showed the highest satisfaction in improving the interest in the subject, and it was found to be helpful in online class management, professor-student interaction, and class content understanding. Conclusion : We have found that online blended learning can compensate for the shortcomings of online lectures and increase the quality of the lectures and the satisfaction of students. The application of online blended learning should be supplemented according to the characteristics of each class, and I hope that blended online teaching methods can be developed based on new ideas in the future.

This study aims to explore a plan for the educational application of K-MOOC brought into relief as a new education system and to draw a direction of improvement for increasing learners' satisfaction through the development and operation of the K-MOOC Course. The colleges produce and provide the MOOC Course as a counterplan through college innovation to respond to social changes due to the reduction of school-age population. Thus, this study selected the target courses for the operation of K-MOOC and proceeded with the development of a course, referring to the guidelines for the development and operation of the K-MOOC Course at the National Institute for Lifelong Education with the quantity for 14 weeks (About 50 minutes per week) for the period of the development of the course of about 5 months. The development of the course was made in the stages of design, development, inspection, and operation. The implications of the operation of K-MOOC obtained through this study are as follows: First, in order to increase the utilization of the MOOC Course, it is necessary to operate it in connection with the regular curriculum; second, it is necessary to have desirable communication to induce the interaction and academic motivation between the instructor and the learners; and third, it is necessary to analyze the relationship of the impact by each background factor through analyzing satisfaction with the lecture and continue to assure the quality of the course through understanding the learners' demands. For this purpose, it is important to experience new attempts directly and analyze the performance of education and the satisfaction of consumers and the instructor in detail, and it is necessary to construct a curriculum suitable for K-MOOC and seek an effective teaching method.
This study sought to investigate the effect of academic satisfaction on the dropout intention of cosmetology undergraduates. Analyzing the effect of academic satisfaction on career dropouts showed that the sub-factors of academic satisfaction-evaluation satisfaction, class satisfaction had a statistically significant part effect. Analyzing the effect of academic satisfaction on psychological factors for dropping out showed that the sub-factors of academic satisfaction have a statistically significant effect. Furthermore, regarding the effect of academic satisfaction on environmental factors, the sub-factors of academic satisfaction have a statistically significant effect on wealth. High satisfaction was shown to have no statistically significant effect on dropout intention. The results of the study showed that the higher the degree of satisfaction with the evaluation and the degree of satisfaction with the course of beauty majors, the more negative (-) the impact on dropout. For cosmetology majors, academic satisfaction is a subjective emotion felt through study at university and major. Students with high academic satisfaction are more likely to love their school and their work, and positively influence their intention to stay in school and reduce student dropout rates. Intention to drop out indicates the intention to lose interest and purpose in cosmetology college students. This is directly linked to the dropout rate of school students and requires steady research. Through this research, we hope that active discussions will be held on academic satisfaction and intention to drop out of university students specializing in cosmetology.
Purpose: By investigating the characteristics of the students ophthalmic optics under bachelor's degree course in academic credit bank system, this study aimed to utilize this survey as a basic material for the operation and the improvement of academic credit bank system as the continued education for opticians. Methods: A questionnaire survey for the characteristics of the students was conducted on 98 bachelors who registered in the academic credit bank system and an analysis was made out of the result. Results: As the purpose of selecting the academic credit bank system, acquisition of bachelor's degree took the major portion (51.0%); for information route, school or superior at work took the major portion (33.7%); and for educational institution, alma mater took the major portion (31.6%). Family cooperation (72.4%) to the students in the academic credit bank system was higher than workplace cooperation (46.9%) or social cooperation (39.8%). For the time required for the bachelor's degree course in the academic credit bank system, 2 semesters (55.6%) took the major portion, and 38.9% for entering graduate school and 5.6% for university transfer. The result showed a significant difference in the information route for the academic credit bank system (p<.05), selection criteria for educational institution (p<.05) and workplace cooperation (p<.01) depending on the age. It showed a significant difference in the selection purpose for the academic credit bank system (p<.01), average attendance day (p<.05), workplace cooperation (p<.01) and difficulties (p<.01) depending on working place. It showed a significant difference in the selection criteria for educational institution (p<.01) and family cooperation (p<.05) depending on the academic system of their alma mater. It showed a significant difference in the information route (p<.05), the selection criteria for educational institution (p<.01) and workplace cooperation (p<.05). Conclusions: It is necessary for optometrists to study and pay more attention to continuing education, and the operation and support for the academic credit bank system should be made in consideration of the characteristics of students.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation of antibiotics administration duration and antimicrobial resistance by reviewing domestic and foreign literatures. Methods We searched literatures dated up to 23 February, 2018 in PubMed and Cochrane Library using terms of "Anti-Bacterial Agents", "Carrier State", "Nasopharynx", "Drug Administration Schedule", and also searched via RISS (Research Information Service System), KISS (Koreanstudies Information Service System), DBpia (DataBase Periodical Information Academic) using terms of antibiotics, resistance, and dose. Results In comparison with shortened and standard antibiotic course, longer treatment duration is associated with greater antimicrobial resistance or non-significant difference, but we cannot find literature that shortened antibiotic course increases antimicrobial resistance on human nasopharyngeal flora. Conclusions Currently, there is no evidence that completing the standard antibiotic course reduces antimicrobial resistance. It can be a strategy for reducing antibiotic use to apply Korean medicine treatment, as well as short-course antibiotic therapy or delayed antibiotic prescription. Additional well-designed trials should be conducted in domestic and foreign settings about the appropriate duration of antibiotic therapy.
Kunsan National University obtained accreditation for its Architecture & Building Engineering Program from the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education in Korea (ABEEK) in 2004 and has offered an ABEEK-accredited degree pathway ever since. Then, in 2018, the university introduced the course-embedded outcomes assessment system as per ABEEK's KEC2015 accreditation criteria. One year into its implementation, the new system allows the measurement and assessment of 10 program outcomes covering 19 curricular modules and 1 non-curricular licensing examination. The system incorporates the four areas of specialization within architectural engineering as well as the three course categories of the math, science, and computer; liberal arts; and engineering core modules under the accreditation scheme. It also takes the students' academic years into account, especially for the mandatory modules offered to all students. Its rubric clarifies the performance criteria, performance level, assessment tools, objectives, and modules. The 2018 course-embedded outcomes assessment system is an ever-evolving structure with regular CQI: Continuous Quality Improvements along the circular process of system establishment → implementation → evaluation as per the virtuous cycle model required for an accredited engineering program.
