달리기 중 신발 중저의 경도가 인체를 따라 흡수되는 충격에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the Midsole Hardness on Shock Absorption along the Human Body during Running)

  • During running, the human body experiences repeated impact force between the foot and the ground. The impact force is highly associated with injury of the lower extremity, comfort and running performance. Therefore, shoemakers have developed shoes with various midsole properties to prevent the injury of lower extremity, improve the comfort and enhance the running performance. The purpose of this study is to investigate influence of midsole hardness on shock absorption along the human body during running. Thirty two expert runners consented to participate in the study and ran at a constant speed with three different pairs of shoes with soft, medium and hard midsole respectively. Using accelerometers we measured the shock absorption from shoe heel to cervical vertebral column. In conclusion, at the shoe heel, shock was the greatest with the hard midsole. However because most shock was absorbed between shoe heel and the knee, notable influence of midsole was not detected upper knee. At shoe heel, regardless of midsole hardness, the shock of younger female was the greatest. The authors expect to apply this result for providing a guideline for utilizing proper midsole hardness for manufacturing age and gender-specific shoe.

건자재활용을 위한 축열용 다공성 미립자 상변환 물질 흡착 특성 (Charateristics on the PCM absorbed porous media as thermal storage applicable for construction material)

  • Purpose: Both silica gel and activated carbon black particles were adopted for use as PCM absorbed porous media applicable as construction materials. To investigate usable methods for absorbing PCM into the media, they were soaked into PCM and also tested for enhancement of PCM absorption into them. Method: To test PCM absorption into some porous media such as both ${\varphi}1{\sim}2mm$ and $10{\mu}m$ silica gels, and $50{\mu}m$ activated carbon black, $43^{\circ}C$ PCM was used as a laten heat material. The method, soaking into PCM was applied to this study, and the media were moderately rotated by centrifuge to have the extra PCM flow out. DSC analysis was conducted to investigate the melting and solidifying of the PCM absorbed into the porous media. Result: It was found that PCM was absorbed into the porous media by over 85 wt% of all particles. In addition, it was noted that the ultrasonic vibrator was accelerating the PCM absorption into the particles to three times higher speed than simple soaking. Centrifuge was adopted to remove extra PCM sticking on the particle surfaces and extra PCM was moderately removed from the surfaces of the particles. DSC analysis indicated that the latent heat of the absorbed PCM particles was 160 J/g, and the melting temperature was approximately $40^{\circ}C{\sim}50^{\circ}C$.

Effect of elasticity of aqueous xanthan gum solution with 2-amino-methyl-1-propanol on chemical absorption of carbon dioxide

  • Absorption rate of carbon dioxide was measured in the aqueous xanthan gum (XG) solution in the range of 0-0.15 wt% containing 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) of $0-2\;kmol/m^3$ in a flat-stirred vessel with an impeller of 0.05m and agitation speed of 50rpm at $25^{\circ}C$ and 0.101 MPa. The volumetric liquid-side mass transfer coefficient ($k_La$) of $CO_2$, which was correlated with the viscosity and the elastic behavior of XG solution containing Deborah number as an empirical formula, was used to estimate the chemical absorption rate of $CO_2\;(R_A)$. $R_A$, which was estimated by mass transfer mechanism based on the film theory using the physicochemical properties and the kinetics of reaction between $CO_2$ and AMP, was compared with the measured rate. The aqueous XG solution with elastic property of non-Newtonian liquid made $R_A$ increased compared with Newtonian liquid based on the same viscosity of the solution.

  • Polyacrylamide (PAA) 수용액의 유변학적 특성이 $CO_2$의 흡수속도에 미치는 영향을 고찰하기 위해 $25^{\circ}C$, 1기압에서 평판조의 흡수기(교반조의 임펠러 크기 0.05 m, 교반속도 50 rpm)를 사용하여 PAA 수용액에 $CO_2$의 흡수실험을 행하였다. 제시한 Deborah수와 $CO_2$의 물질전달계수와의 상관관계식으로부터 물질전달계수를 구하여 triethanolamine을 첨가한 PAA수용액에서 $CO_2$의 화학흡수속도의 산출에 사용하였다. PAA수용액에서 $CO_2$의 흡수속도는 동일점도의 기준에서 뉴튼액체에서의 값보다 감소하였다.

  • In general, the aluminum extrusions are used to the light construction of the high speed rail vehicle structures. However, the research works ok the crashworthy design of the high speed rail vehicle structures are not published sufficiently because the crash test of high speed rail vehicle structures costs high and is complicated. So, a method that can predict crash characteristics of a large size structure like a high speed tail vehicle should be suggested. In this study, the scale model studies are performed to predict the impact energy absorption characteristics of full scale model. In the first place, we verified the theory of scale law using FE-simulation from the crashworthiness point of view. Secondly, we performed the crush test using scale model, made of aluminum sub structure. As a result, we could predict the crash characteristics using scale model by 10∼20% error.

SIMULATION OF AUTOMOTIVE SEAT FOR REDUCING NECK INJURY IN LOW-SPEED REAR IMPACT

  • Neck injuries sustained during low speed rear impact are the most commonly sustained traffic injury. Therefore, the analysis of neck injury mechanisms and methods for mitigating and reducing neck injuries during low speed rear impact are a very important issue in the vehicle safety field. In order to find a method to absorb the shock that is transmitted to the occupant, the response of frontal and rear dummy due to the motion of the struck vehicle and the rotational angular displacements of dummies' necks during rear impact at 12km/h speed were investigated using a Working Model 2D. The results suggest that the shock absorption system should be equipped in the bottom of the seat of the vehicle to reduce shock and mitigate neck injury to the occupants.

Au 나노입자가 함침된 Poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiphene) 고분자 박막의 전기변색 특성연구 (Characterization of Electrochromic Properties of Au Nanoparticles Incorporated Poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiphene) Film)

  • The electrochromic properties of Au nanoparticles (NPs) incorporating poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiphene) (PEDOT) film were investigated. Trisodium citrate was used for stabilizing Au NPs to control the size. The capping molecules of the Au nanoparticles were exchanged from citrate to 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME). Water was removed by centrifuge and Au NPs were redispersed in methanol (MeOH). Finally, we obtained ca. 11.7 nm diameter of Au NPs. The effects of 0.15 at% of Au NPs incorporation on the optical, electrical, and eletrochromic properties of PEDOT films were investigated. The electrical property and switching speed of Au/PEDOT film was slightly improved over that of PEDOT film because Au NPs play a hopping site role and affect packing density of the PEDOT chain. Through the ultra violet-visible spectra of PEDOT and Au/PEDOT films at -0.7 V (vs Ag/AgCl), blue shift of maximum absorption peak was observed from PEDOT (585.4 nm) to Au/PEDOT (572.2 nm) due to a shortening of conjugated length of PEDOT. The Au NPs interfered with the degree of conjugation and the maximum absorption peak was shifted to shorter wavelength.

로켓엔진 연소기에서 반파장 공명기의 음향감쇠에 관한 수치적 연구 (Acoustic-Damping Characteristics of Half-Wave Resonator in a Combustion Chamber of Liquid Rocket Engine)

  • 고성능 연소기에서 주로 채택되는 기체-액체형 동축 분사기의 음향감쇠 효과를 선형 음향해석을 통해 조사하였다. 그러한 형태의 분사기는 반파장 공명기 역할을 수행할 수 있으므로 반파장 공명기와 1/4파장 공명기의 음향감쇠 특성을 비교/조사하였다. 공명기의 음향 감쇠 효과에 있어서 경계흡수계수의 영향과 공명기 길이 효과를 알아보았고, 연소실과 공명기내 유체의 음속 변화를 통해 반파장 공명기의 음향 감쇠 특성을 조사하였다. 계산 결과, 공명기의 최적 동조 길이가 짧고, 공명기내 유체의 음속이 낮은 조건에서 큰 감쇠효과가 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 경계흡수계수의 감소는 공명기의 동조 길이 범위를 좁게 하였다.

  • As the demand for the lap-top computer has been increased, most users ask quiet environment to work comfortably. Therefore, noise problems of an ODD are of great interest. For the high speed ODD, the flow induced noise is caused by the turbulent flow[1], which is known to be a major source of overall noise of a slim type ODD. In this study, we introduce a new attempt to reduce the noise level using the concept of Helmholtz resonator[2].The experimental analysis is carried out for several cases at different resonance frequencies and different hole patterns. The results show reductions in the noise level from the acoustic noise absorption point of view.
