Visceral lipoma originating from the mesentery is very rare in childhood. A 29-month-old male presented with painless abdominal distension. Abdominal ultrasonography and CT revealed a huge multilobulated hypodense mass in the peritoneal cavity. Exploratory laparotomy showed a $26{\times}25{\times}5cm$ sized encapsulated, lobulated, homogenous mass, which originated from the transverse mesocolon. Histologic examination revealed a lipoma. The postoperative course was uneventful.

A spayed female, 1-year-old, Himalayan, weighing 1.89 kg, was referred. The clinical signs included anorexia, depression, vomiting, urinary incontinence and vaginal discharge for 7 days after elective ovariohysterectomy. In laboratory examination, there was moderate azotemia. Abdominal radiographic findings included heterogeneous serosal detail loss and right renomegaly. Abdominal ultrasonography showed hyperechoic ascites, bilateral polycystic kidneys, right hydronephrosis, and right hydroureter. Excretory urography demonstrated an ureterovaginal fistula. Exploratory laparotomy confirmed this diagnosis and explained that the right ureter had been included in a ligature around the cranial vagina.

Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor is a rare sex-cord stromal tumor of the ovary. They make up less than 0.5 % of all ovarian tumors. We experienced a case of an ovarian Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor in a 4 year-old girl who presented with nausea, vomiting, and lower abdominal pain of 2 days' duration. On physical examination, there was mild tenderness in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen. Abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a pelvic mass measuring $5{\times}3cm$ that appeared to arise from the right ovary. At exploratory laparotomy, a $6{\times}5{\times}3cm$ solid right ovarian mass without torsion was found. A right salpingo-oophorectomy was performed. The postoperative course was uneventful. The child was discharged 5 days after surgery.

We present a rare case of synchronous ileal inflammatory fibroid polyp and Meckel's diverticulum detected during laparoscopic surgery for adult intussusception. A 48-year-old woman presented with sudden onset of severe abdominal pain. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a segment of ileocecal intussusception. Thus, laparoscopic exploration was performed, which revealed an ileal mass with an outpouching closed luminal structure in the distal ileum. Two abnormal structures were resected via mini-laparotomy, and the patient was discharged without postoperative complications. Histopathological examination confirmed an ileal inflammatory fibroid polyp and Meckel's diverticulum with ectopic pancreatic tissue.

Hepatic encephalophthy was diagnosed with serum chemistry, abdominal radiography and ultrasonography in a 2.6kg, 4 year-old maltese dog showing signs of hypersalivation, involutary spasm of facial muscles, ataxia, behavior abnormalities like dullness, sleep disorder, restlessness. In serum chemistry, the level of alanine transferase and aspartate trasferase was mildly elevated, ammonia was severely increased. On abdominal radio-graphs, the size of liver was mildly decreased. In ultrasonographic examination, diffuse lesion with hyperechoic change and decreased vasculature were seen in the hepatic region. But vascular abnormalities of liver were not observed. Drug and dietary therapy were undertaken and severities of clinical sign were alleviated.

This report describes a three-month-old Korean domestic kitten presented with dehydration and poor body condition. Physical examination revealed abdominal distension. Rectal diagnosis was unachievable due to the small rectum diameter. X-ray radiography and endoscopy confirmed presence of abdominal distension and indicated a stricture located 1.5 cm from the anus. A balloon was gently inserted into the rectum and inflated several times followed by triamcinolone injection. Four months later, same procedures were repeated. This report is the first to describe the use of balloon dilation of a rectal stricture followed by intralesional triamcinolone injection in a small cat with poor condition.

A 12-year-old spayed female Cocker Spaniel was presented with vomiting, diarrhea, depression, and hyporexia of 3-day duration. Microscopic examination of the abdominal fluid from a dog showed basophilic, amorphous to fibrillar materials without bile pigments or crystals. Total bilirubin concentration of the fluid was 19 times higher than the serum bilirubin concentration and exploratory laparotomy revealed a ruptured gallbladder and mucoceles in the abdominal cavity. Rupture of gallbladder mucoceles may cause atypical bile peritonitis in which mucinous material is observed instead of bile pigment.

This report presents a rare case of feline exocrine pancreatic ductal carcinoma including treatment and prognosis. A 4.6-year-old castrated male American Shorthair cat, weighing 5 kg was presented with intermittent vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite. Through physical examination and radiography, a cranial abdominal mass was identified. Exploratory laparotomy was carried out. The largest mass was connected to the left lobe of the pancreas, and there were several small, nodular masses scattered along the abdominal lining. The pancreatic mass was removed using an ultrasonic scalpel, and the patient recovered favorably. Histopathologically, the resected lesion was diagnosed as an exocrine pancreatic ductal papillary carcinoma. The patient was maintained with conservative therapy and euthanized on post-operative day 262. Partial pancreatectomy using an ultrasonic scalpel was accomplished safely without evidence of pancreatic leakage.

Traumatic subcutaneous emphysema, which is the infiltration of air into subcutaneous tissues due to trauma, is caused by various factors such as chest and/or abdominal trauma, facial fractures, and barotrauma caused by mechanical ventilation. In this case report, a 32-year-old woman developed traumatic subcutaneous emphysema after undergoing abdominal liposuction at a local clinic. She was subsequently admitted to Busan Paik Hospital, and with early diagnosis and conservative treatment, she was discharged on the seventh day of hospitalization with no complications. However, because traumatic subcutaneous emphysema may accompany other injuries for various reasons, radiological examination and various tests should be performed to prevent serious complications and sequelae.

A 12-year-old, castrated male, mixed dog presented with a history of gradual abdominal distention for a year and anorexia recently, with abdominal radiographs showing a gastric pylorus distention. A solitary, pedunculated, heterogeneous mass arising from the mucosal layer in the pylorus with intact wall layers was identified during ultrasound and computed tomography. The gastric muscular layer was evenly thick. After surgical excision of the mass, histological examination confirmed hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy with polypoid growth and Helicobacter spp. infiltrating the gastric mucosal epithelium. This is the first reported diagnostic imaging case of hypertrophic pyloric gastropathy with Helicobacter spp. in a dog.
