선박통항 안전성에서의 주관적 평가의 정량화에 관한 기초연구 (A Study on the Quantification of Master Subjective Evaluation in the Safety of Ship's Transit)

  • Assessment of the safety of ship's transit in the narrow channel consist of the maneuvering safety determined by the chance of running aground, the maneuvering difficulty determined by ship's workload and master's subjective evaluation. To examine the relation between master's subjective evaluation and maneuvering safety, this utilizes a real-time and full-mission shiphandling simulator in the Korea Marine Training & Research Institutes(KMTRI). The vessel chosen was 60,000-ton, Panamax-type ship. The findings regarding master's subjective evaluation were as follows: -Relation between master's subjective evaluation and common logarithms of stranding probability is linear. -Stranding probability with more than 0.001 is master's subjective evaluation with more than 5.

조종성지수에 의한 충돌회피동작의 양적 파악에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Quantative Analysis of a Ship's Collision Avoding Action by Using the Maneuvering Indices)

  • The Maneuvering Indices of a ship are the values that decide the quantity of her motion in turning when her rudder is turned over to an angle to the starboard or the port. They consist of two kinds of indices, one of which is called index K and the other, index T. Index K decides a ship's turning ability and index T does the length of time delay of a normal turning motion after her rudder has finished the turn of an ordered angle. Generally, the values of the indices are calculated through some mathematic formulas with figures of her heading degrees recorded at a fixed time intervals during her Z test. The values of the same kind index of a ship appear differently according to the ship'sspeed, trim, rudder angle and loaded condition, etc. In this paper, the author analyzed all the amthematic formulas required to calculate the values of the indices in their forming process and examined them from the point of mathematics and dynamics and also actually figured out the values of maneuvering indices of the M.S. "HANBADA", the training ship of Korea Merchant Marine College through her Z test. The author supposed a case in which two same typed ships as the "HANBADA" in size, shape and conditions were approaching each other in meeting end on situation and each ship turned her rudder hard over to the starboard respectively when they approached to the distance of 3 times as long as the ship's length. The author worked out mathematic formulas calculating forward and transverse ship's motions within the above mentioned situation for the quantative analysis of the collision avoding action to certify whether they are in collision status or not. Applying the calculated values of the maneuvering indices of the "HANBADA" to the motion calculating formulas, the author found out the two ships were passing over each other with the clearing distance o 39m between their port quarters. With the above mentioned examinations and explanations, the author demonstrated that a ship's motion in any collision avoiding action can be shown with quantities of time and distance within reliable limit.istance within reliable limit.

A Proposal on the Marine Traffic Supporting System in VTS area

  • In port and its approach channel, traffic accidents such as collision, aground, minor collision have reached about 77% of total marine casualty in the area. In this paper, an attempt to enhance the safe navigation was proposed by offering marine traffic supporting system which helps VTS operator assist vessel effectively with the quantitative assessment on difficulty of each vessel. The system collects navigation data from onboard AIS, assesses the data in assessment mode to analyze the navigation difficulties of each vessel and displays the degree of danger of each vessel on the ECDIS in real-time to decide the intervention time or order of priority for VTS operator. The effectiveness of the system was verified by the VTS operators in Korea.

  • The full extent of damage depend greatly on the quick and rational decision making by the incident commander soon after the disaster. The decision that everybody should wait by the captain, not to enter into the ship by the first dispatched incident commander, broadcasting failure have brought about a huge loss of life at Sewol cruise ship incident. Thus this study reviews the training and education system supporting the rational crisis decision making performed by the incident commander to cut off the expansion of disaster which is caused by the failure of the incident situation awareness and the decision making described above.

  • 본 연구는 한국해양대학교 실습선을 모델링하고 선내 승조원들의 생활패턴을 분석한 후, 공간별 밀집 유형별 대피시간을 예측하고 이를 비교한 것이다. 승조원의 밀집형태의 관점에서 보면, 선내에 골고루 분포하여 밀도가 낮은 경우에 비해 특정공간에 집중되어 순간 밀도가 높은 경우의 피난시간이 증가하였고, 이동속도에 따른 영향 역시 밀도가 높은 상황이 밀도가 낮은 상황에 비해 4배 이상 큰 것으로 예측되었다.

드론 영상 기반 조난 선박 탐지를 위한 해양 환경 시뮬레이션을 활용한 딥러닝 모델 개발 (Development of a Deep-Learning Model with Maritime Environment Simulation for Detection of Distress Ships from Drone Images)

  • 해양 조난 사고에서 드론 활용이 빠르게 증가하고 있는 가운데, 특히 드론을 활용한 수색 구조 작업이 주목받고 있다. 조난 선박 및 기타 해양 표류체를 빠르게 탐지하기 위해 드론 영상을 활용한 딥러닝 모델들이 확장되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 모델을 효과적으로 학습시키기 위해서는 다양한 기상 조건과 선박 상태를 고려한 대량의 학습 데이터가 필요하다. 이에 대한 데이터 부족 문제는 학습된 모델의 성능 저하로 이어질 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 해양 환경 시뮬레이터를 개발하고 데이터셋을 보강하여 조난 선박 탐지를 위한 딥러닝 모델의 성능 개선을 목표로 한다. 이 시뮬레이터는 눈, 비, 안개와 같은 다양한 기상 조건과 선박 상태, 그리고 드론과 센서의 규격과 특성을 설정할 수 있다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 얻은 데이터셋을 활용하여 딥러닝 모델을 학습시켰다. 이로써, 실제 드론 영상 데이터셋만을 사용한 모델과 비교했을 때 정확도와 재현율 등의 탐지 성능이 향상되었다. 특히, 비나 안개와 같은 악기상에서의 조난 선박 탐지 정확도(Average Precision, AP)는 약 2-5% 정도 향상되었으며 미탐지 비율이 현저히 낮아졌다. 이러한 결과는 개발된 시뮬레이터가 현실적이고 효과적으로 다양한 상황을 시뮬레이션하여 모델 학습에 기여함을 보여준다. 또한, 이에 기반한 조난 선박 탐지 딥러닝 모델은 해양 수색 및 구조 작업에서 효율적으로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

전문계열교사 통합표시과목 자격연수에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Qualification Training of Combination Indication Subject for Vocational affiliation Teacher)

  • This research was to survey and analyze the recognition about combination indication subject of secondary school teacher's certificate in the vocation high school. The conclusion through this research results are as follows, First, The satisfaction of qualification training about combination indication subject was a general positive response(77.5%), but there was partly negative response(5.2%). Second, The efficiency of qualification training curriculum was positive response(62%), the high response(77.7%) was the fisheries affiliate. It was probably good because of simulation of ship sailing about practice curriculum. Third, The need of qualification training on combination indication subject for vocational high school teacher was positive response(81%), but negative response(3.4%)

선박 수중 3D 입체 지도 소프트웨어 개발 (Development of 3D-Map Software for Ship Hull in Underwater)

  • 본 논문에서는 수중에서의 물체위치추적 소프트웨어와 수중선저 입체지도 생성 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 선저청소로봇을 위한 소프트웨어로써 선저 청소로봇의 위치를 추적하고 음파통신의 음영지역을 발견함으로써 센서의 정위 구현을 목표로 하였다. 수중에서 로봇의 위치를 추적하기 위하여 개발된 소프트웨어는 수중의 초음파통신에 변수로 작용하는 파도의 고저와 세기를 적용하였다. 선(lines)들을 이용하여 그려진 선박의 도면을 스캔하여 OpenGL을 이용하여 입체지도를 형성하는 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 이는 청소로봇이 비가시적인 수중 선저에서의 위치파악이 용이하며, 선저의 굴곡으로 인한 초음파통신 음영지역을 쉽게 발견함으로써 그에 따른 센서의 정위를 구현하여 원활한 통신 상태를 유지하는데 활용될 수 있다.

Flap rudder를 이용한 조종성능 평가 (Evaluation of the maneuverability of a real ship with flap rudder)

  • In order to offer specific information needed to assist in operation of a ship with same type rudder through evaluating the maneuverability of training ship A-Ra with flapped rudder, sea trials based full scale for turning test, zig-zag test with rudder angle 10° and 20°, and spiral test at service condition were carried out on starboard and port sides around Jeju Island according to the standards of maneuverability of IMO. As a result, the angular velocity of port turn was higher than that of starboard turn. Therefore, the size of turning circle was longer on the starboard side. In addition, variation of the transfer due to various factors was more stable than those of the others. In the Z-test results, the mean of 1st and 2nd overshoot angles were 9.8°, 6.3° and 15.3°, 9.2° respectively when the port and starboard was 10°; the 1st overshoot angle were 18°, 13.7° when using 20°. Her maneuverability index T' and K' can be easily determined by using a computer with the data obtained from Z-test where K' and T' are dimensionless constants representing turning ability and responsiveness to the helm, respectively. In the Z-test under flap rudder angle 10°, the obtained K' value covered the range of 2.37-2.87 and T' was 1.74-3.45. Under the flap rudder angle 20°, K' and T' value showed 1.43-1.63, 1.0-1.73, respectively. In the spiral test, the loop width was unstable at +0.3° and -0.5°-0.9° around the midship of flap rudder. As a result, course stability was comparatively good. From the sea trial results, training ship ARA met the present criterion in the standards of maneuverability of IMO.

  • The authors have been studying about and electro-magnetic compass with a three axis magnetic sensor in order to provide and accurate ship's magnetic heading which the compass deviations can automatically compensated in the compass itself, and the theory how to derive the poisson's coefficients from ship's magnetism measured with three axis magnetic sensor. This paper describes on the analysis of deviation derived from the measured values that obtained to measure the various magnetic fields at the compass position of the M. S. ARA, training ship of Cheju University with three axis magnetic sensor at Cheju near sea from 25th, Oct, to 13th, Nov. in 1994.
