  • The development technology is not brought out the change of life style but space. According to the development technology, it is comes to an age of Ubiquitous computing that make the possible intelligent space. Space in public library, too, is necessarily changed according to introduce Ubiquitous technology. This change of space give a benefits to user in public library. Therefore finding solutions for user-centered space in public library is the purpose of this study as making it intelligently and sufficiently.

  • Since environmental problems were globalized, discussions on 'Sustainable Development' started from Rio Declaration on Environment and Development(Rio Agenda 21). In Korea, the idea of 'Green Growth' was introduced and generalized since the celebration speech made on 8.15(Independence Day of South Korea) on 2008. And Low Carbon- Green Growth Basic Law was established on 2010. There are 3 strategies and 10 sub-tasks to achieve green country-traffic and green revolution of life. Family resource management is capable of changing life style from energy wasty to ecologically green. The value of family resource management plays a critical role in changing the lifestyle through influencing the goal and standard setting. So, this study is aimed to suggest the green value and green way of life from the perspective of family resource management. Results are as follow. First, the green value is to change from 'material-oriented' to 'people-oriented'. The 'material-oriented value pursues pleasure from possessing, but the 'people-oriented' value pursues pleasure from being itself. Second, the change from the value of 'human-mastery of the nature' to the value of 'mother -nature' is necessary. The value of 'human-mastery of the nature' seeks pleasure from the velocity and tangible outcome. But the value of 'mother- nature' seeks pleasure from the time to relax and slow way of life. 'Third, the change from the value of 'individualism' to the value of 'community sprit' is necessary. Individualism focuses on man's achievement, which may fall into family egoism. And the green way of life suggests the change from 'results-oriented' to 'enjoy the process itself", from 'consumption' to 'ecological restoration' and from 'work to home and then home to community'.

  • These days, the damage of noise has increased seriously by rapid change of life style because of the centralization of urban population, and the rapid increase of traffic. The Ministry of Environment has emphasis on the systematic management about the noise of daily life and the close connection of daily noise management policy with relevant ministries, and put into practice "the master plan of lessening the noise of daily life" from year 2006. This study tried to find out the reduction methods and the effective management of railway noise in the action plan of railway part of "the master plan of lessening the noise of daily life". According to this study, railway noise can be reduced greatly by taking action of railway detail plans. The cause of railway noise varies by rolling stock, track and more, so the reduction methods of railway noise can be studied specially, scientifically and constantly in every field.

  • The purpose of this study was to investgate the social meaning and consumption values expressed on apparel advertisements In Teena-ger's magazines from 1976 to 1996. The results of this study were as follows. 1. As the number of the model in apparel advertisements was more than two people it was closely related to conformity and peer ac-ceptance of adolecent's developmental task. Also There were increasing number of foreign models and attractive and famous signers and talents. 2. The trend of appeals showed changing time and society. Since 1990 post-modern ap-proach has increased whereas rational and emotional approach were dominated in 1970s and 1980s. 3, The major consumption values in apparel advertisements were social value emotional value. From 1990 there were variety in consumption values related to adolescent's ap-parel advertisements. This results represented the possibility that apparel advertisements in adolescent's maga-zines not only mirror but mold change of con-sumption values and life style in adolescent. Especially to understand and predict the new generation in Korea educators and practi-tioners in Junior Fashion Market must try to study the current adolescent's life style and consumption values systematically.

The Symbolistic Values of Western Beards' Style in the Twentieth Century (20세기 서구 남성 수염 스타일의 상징적 가치)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the symbolistic values of western beards' style in the twentieth century. Namely, it is to consider the relationship between social-cultural factors and aesthetic meanings of western beards' style. The contents are, firstly, studying the conception and the types of beard. A beard is the hair that grows on a person's chin, cheeks, neck, and the area above the upper lip. At the World Beard & Moustache Championships, there are moustache category (natural, english, hungarian, dali, fu manchu, freestyle), beard category (natural, musketeer, goatee, sideburns, freestyle), and full beard category (natural, garibaldi, verdi, van dyck, freestyle), Secondly, this paper is continued by researching the history of beard from the ancient to the present day, and thirdly, analyzing political dictatorship, social resistance and expression of personality, religious dignity, related with the change of world situation, the formation of postmodern anti-culture and pop-culture, and the coexistence of traditional culture. There are long and bushy full beards in some religions like Hinduism, Judaism and Islam. The meanings of their beards are purity, life and holiness. The beards of some politicians symbolize dictatorship. Namely, the chaplin of Hitler, the moustache of Hussein and the musketeer of Castro express strong power and charisma. In 1950s'-70s' subcultures, Hipsters' goatee, Bikers' horseshoe, Beat generations' goatee and Hippies' natural represent the lack of adaptability and social resistance. Also, the celebrities and artists like Ronald Colman, Clark Gable, Don Johnson, George Clooney, and Salvador Dali express freedom, personality, and taste with beards. For that matter, the symbolistic values of beards' style in the twentieth century are the religious dignity, the political dictatorship, the social resistance and the expression of personality. Today the beards' style is one of fashion items as well as a symbol of masculinity, customs and classes.

The Nature of Nursing and Life Style of Nurses (간호의 본질과 간호사의 삶의 양식)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe the nature of nursing and life style of nurses. This study was conducted from march, 1994 to May, 1995. There are two kinds of data used in this research. To discern the nature of nursing and life style of nurses, 34 articles selected from nursing journals and text books, and the data which were collected by unstructured questionare with two main open ended questions were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's method. The questions were "what is nature of nursing?" "When do you feel your professionl life worth?" 29 participants were nurses working at two university hospitals and two general hospitals in Seoul, understood the study purpose. The results were as follows : (1) The nursing is evolving phenomenon which is developed, and changed. (1) ${\lceil}$encounter${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$trust${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$interrelationship${\rfloor}$have been identified as the causal condition of nursing phenomenon. (2) ${\lceil}$concern${\rfloor}$has been identified as the central phenomenon of nursing. (3) ${\lceil}$humanity${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$sincerity${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$nursing spirit${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$empathy${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$understanding${\rfloor}$have been identified as intervening condition and context of nursing phenomenon. (4) ${\lceil}$helping behavior${\rfloor}$has been identified as action/strategy of nursing phenomenon. (5) ${\lceil}$caring${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$observation${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$comfort${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$problem solving${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$co-ordination${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$education${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$stimulus${\rfloor}$have been as helping behavior. (6) ${\lceil}$change${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$growth and development${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$to do by oneself${\rfloor}$ have been as consequences of nursing phenomenon. (2) the nature of nursing have been classified into five properties ; ${\lceil}$relational property${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$moral property${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$technological property${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$behavioral property${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$objective property${\rfloor}$ (3) The life style of nurses is not considered as ${\lceil}$to have${\rfloor}$ living mode, but ${\lceil}$to be${\rfloor}$ living mode because the professional life of nurses is chracterized by ${\lceil}$encounter${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$trust${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$humanity${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$understanding${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$concern${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$togetherness with human being${\rfloor}$ ${\lceil}$growth and development${\rfloor}$ and others, which are properties of the nature of nursing, and are also considered as esential factors of real existence of professional nurse as a human being in nursing situation.

  • The constant evolution of society, culture and scientific technology, coupled with changes in life style and behavioral patterns, has led mankind to peroeive diverse needs for space. Particularly, the rapid structural change in the field of marketing has entailed changes in techinques for construction and presentation of space for an improved marketing environment. To satisfy such new, diverse needs for space, interior designers will have to redefine the "mankind and environmen( concept and examine their design methodology anew. The question of how to design available space for a certain purpose will remain a daunting task for designers in the future, as it has been in the past. In the pursuit of convenience and conformity to mankind's surroundings, every nation has, in common with other nations, basic design elements, design skills and other factors. In designing camercial space in a particular region, it is essential, however, to have a proper understanding of the social economic and cultural context indigenous to that region, as well as the impact on environmental and ecological change and marketing strategy. This study discusses design metholdology for the comming camercial space on the basis of the space concept and current status in Korea, with major emphasis on Korea's regional characteristics.

  • After the industrial revolution, we have changed whole life-styles. This trend has brought a change in our eating style. Nowadays, the great number of people go out to eat-even three meals a day. As a result, the growth rate of food service industry increases day by day. Some restaurants are managed by the large scale company and others by the small scale ownership. Though developed countries are in the maturity step of the product life cycle in this field, we are in the growth step. We will hold the in 2002. A lot of tourists and the press will rush to Korea. They must have their meals at the restuarant. Therefore, we need more practice to satisfy them and to lead to successful management in this field. Also, we need an evaluation to qualify each business so that our food service industry does not decline compared to other country's. This study is trying to find how to evaluate and qualify each business in the various areas: service, the quality of food, the mood of the restaurant and so on. In addition, it includes the restaurant rating form.

  • With the life style changing and the income level improving in our society, the composition of apartment residents and the preference are diversifying. For that reason, various residential plans are desired. However in bearing wall system the existing apartments have a clear attribute of a fixed system, consequently, they have a difficulty in being adapted to the social requirement. In this research, 1 would like to put a variable apartment to practical use in which with a suitable structure system applied to a variable apartment considered as remodeling system various residential requirements are accepted and the change of the family life cycle and moreover, effective and systematic remodeling are accomplished.

  • A house is basic unit of human being living space and it reflects an occupation, family relation, a life style and sense of value of resident. To analyze of modernization process the rural house in Japan diversely and systematically, this study examined the elements and characteristics of changing floor plan in house through field studies and residential interviewing about the rural house of Miyashiro, Saitama pref. in Japan. The results of this study are as follow. First, the traditional TANOJI type changed into NAKAROUKA and TSUZUKIMA type on modernizing process. Second, Toma is an important space of farmhouse. It is succeeded with the element, which is the possibility of knowing the remnant of traditional element from modern rural house. Third, the cause of changing floor plan is a narrow and small space by growth of children. That is the most factor of changing house deterioration of equipments and necessity of children's space.
