Al-Zn-Zr 용사코팅층의 고체입자 충돌 침식특성에 미치는 봉공처리의 영향 (Effect of Sealing Treatment on Solid Particle Impingement Erosion of Al-Zn-Zr Thermal Spray Coating Layer)

  • Several technologies are employed to protect substrates from corrosion and erosion damage. In particular, arc thermal spray coating technology is widely used as anti-corrosive technology for steel and concrete structures and is applied to offshore plants and petrochemical and drilling facilities. In this investigation, solid particle impingement erosion experiments were performed on an arc thermal spraying-coated specimen using 85% Al-14% Zn-1% Zr wire rod in KR-RA steel. This study investigated the effect of fluorosilicone sealing on the erosion resistance characteristics of the thermal spray coating layer. The erosion rates of the thermal spray-coated and sealed specimens were 4.1×10-4 and 8.5×10-4, respectively. At the beginning of the experiment, the fluorosilicone sealant was almost destroyed by the impact of the solid particles. The destruction time for the coating layer was 10 minutes for the thermal spray-coated specimen and 13 minutes for the sealed specimens, indicating that the sealed specimens had better erosion resistance characteristics to solid particle impingement.

  • Continuous wave C $O_{2}$ laser beam welding and formability of zinc coated steel plates were investigated. First, the optimal welding condition could be obtained in lap configuration by using the data for heat input, gap size and fracture behaviour. The gap size for fully-penetrated bead could be predicted by the gap model by Akhter et al. AIso, it was found that the joining efficiency was constant. Secondly, the butt welding of dissimilar materials (zinc coated steel plate and cold rolled steel plate) with different thicknesses was investigated. In the thickness range of 0.8-2.0 mm, the maximum welding speed of 10m/min was obtained. In the butt welding of two plates with thickness 2.0 mm and l.6mm, the maximum, welding speed of 6m/min was obtained, Finally. the forming results of butt-welded plates showed that the joining design was important to apply the laser welded blank in the automotive production.

합금도금강판의 수적에 의한 표면층의 부식기구에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Corrosion Mechanism by the Moisture on the Surface Layer of the Alloys Coated Steel Sheet)

  • Since the early 1980's the use of zinc-aluminum alloy-coated steel sheet(Galvalume) for vehicular corrosion protection has increased drastically. It is consisting of 55%Al-43.4% Zn-1.6%Si. Galvalume has a good corrosion resistance, heat reflectivity and shiny appearance, which has a dendritic structure of alloy layer. It has a good corrosion resistance due to dendritic structure. But, this also has a weak point against moisture during long period of transportation as sheeted and or coiled without any relation of chromating on the surface of steel sheet or not because of high humidity and temperature. Here, We studied the corrosion mechanism by the moisture.

  • 본 연구에서는 조선용 6mm 아연코팅강판의 $CO_2$ 레이저 겹치기 용접시 발생하는 유기 플라즈마를 마이크로폰과 포토다이오드로 측정하였다. 이때 겹치기 갭간극에 따른 용접조건을 RMS한 신호와 비교 분석하였다. 이를 통해 아연증발량이 증가함에 따라 RMS값도 증가하였으며, 겹침부의 조건에 따라 결함 발생시 RMS의 급격한 변화도 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 용접조건에 따른 Raw signal의 FFT값을 구한 후, 이때 구해진 주파수값을 밴드폭으로 설정하여 Raw signal을 필터링한 뒤의 RMS값을 용접비드와 대응하여 필터링하지 않은 RMS와의 차이점도 비교 분석하였다. 이를 통해 기존의 방법들보다 신뢰성 높은 In-process 모니터링이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • HY-Galume is a brand name of 55%Al-Zn coated steel sheets produced by Hyundai HYSCO. Heavy gauged HY-Galume having thickness around 2 millimeters is used as a steel casing for the electrical distribution panel in the construction market. It requires a strict surface quality because it is used indoors. In this paper, several troubleshooting experiences in producing heavy gauged HY-Galume are proposed.

  • Laser beam welding of zinc-coated steel, especially lap joints, has a problem of zinc vapor produced during welding which has a low vaporization temperature of 906.deg. C. It is lower than the melting temperature of steel (1500.deg. C). The high pressure formed by vaporization of zinc during laser welding splatters the molten pool and creates porosities in weld. During laser lap welds of zinc-coated steel sheets with CW CO$_{2}$ laser the gap size has been analyzed and simulated using a FEM. The simulation has been carried out in the range of gap aetween 0 and 0.16 mm. The vaporized zinc gas has effected to prevent heat from conducting toward the bottom of sheets. In vaporized zinc gas has effected to prevent heat from conducting toward the bottom of sheets. In the case of too small gap size, zinc gas has not ejected and existed between two sheets. Therefore heat was difficult to conduct from the upper sheet to lower sheet and the upper sheet could over-melted. In the case of large gap size the zinc gas has been prefectly ejected but only a part of lower sheet has melted. The optimum range of gap size in the lap welds of zinc-coated steel sheets has been calculated to be between 0.08 and 0.12 mm. According to the comparison of experiment, the simulation is proved to be acceptable and applicable to laser lap welds.

Zn-Mg-Al 합금도금강판의 Zn-MgZn2 공정조직의 부식거동 (Corrosion behavior of Zn-MgZn2 Eutectic Structure in Zn-Mg-Al alloy coated steel)

  • Mg의 첨가한 Zn-Mg-Al 합금도금강판에 형성된 $Zn-MgZn_2$ 공정조직의 부식거동을 이해하고자 진공 고주파 용해로 $MgZn_2$ 제작한 후 Zn와 galvanic coupling하여 $MgZn_2$합금과 Zn간의 galvanic corrosion 거동을 알아보았다. $MgZn_2-Zn$ galvanic coupling의 SVET 결과에서 $MgZn_2$가 anode, Zn가 cathode가 됨을 확인되었다. $MgZn_2$의 Zn와의 galvanic corrosion 평가에서 galvanic current는 Zn 보다 낮은 potential에서 anodic current density를 나타내었으며, galvanic potential은 $MgZn_2$전위로부터 두 합금의 혼합전위를 향해 증가함을 알 수 있었다. Zn-Mg-Al 합금도금강판의 염수분무 평가에서도 초기 $Zn-MgZn_2$ 공정조직에서 $MgZn_2$가 용출되는 것이 관찰되었다.
