  • This study implemented the LED lighting control system using Zigbee Communication. We designed a desk lamp using LEDs. The PWM signals control LEDs using LED drivers. A desk lamp received PWM signals using Zigbee protocol to control LED Color, Color temperature and brightness. Zigbee protocol that have such several advantages to existent Home network system can upgrade more interface dimension.

  • In this paper, remote control and surveillance monitoring system of HID street-lamp using low-cost type of Zigbee communication module was developed. A plurality of capacitors with different capacity are attached to magnetic ballast for HID lamps. Changes in the amount of illumination can be adjusted by the changes in capacity so that the electric energy can be reduced. In Zigbee communication module, a ATmega128L microprocessor is used and in main CPU, ARM9 Core is used to construct a low-cost smart system. In surveillance monitoring systems, the system was configured to remote monitoring of presence of error in the lamp abnormalities, the status of leakage current and abnormalities of ballasts and capacitors and the validity of the proposed empirical experiment was confirmed.

  • As the portable medical equipments consume the power and transmission of the information, they need the system to use long. Although the current wireless transform systems for medical equipments use Bluetooth protocol system, an electricity consumption is big because it uses long and there is the difficulty in the utility We designed a module using the Zigbee protocol which an electricity consumption is more small though a transmission speed is slower than Bluetooth and drew the plan the wireless transmit system for medical equipments to use long.

  • Location tracking system represents position by searching objects and humans. In this paper I would like to write about RF chip support Zigbee which is called CC2420. In simulated network circumstance, we can get the information about mobile-node by sending it to sink-node. Position finding is in error by 3m at outdoor environment. The error scale is acceptable within easy range of naked eyes. It can be overcome by using GPS information and Google maps with the wireless networking background.

  • In this paper, a wireless sensor network system was embodied inside the shipping for digital ship. First, the analysis of radio environment inside ship are investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that a wireless sensor network system can be applied inside the ship. Using Shipboard Wireless Sensor Network System based on IEEE 802.15.4 technique, we designed, and made the prototype of Zigbee Node and RFID Reader. We could be sensing on shipboard and testing entrance of crew by using Zigbee Node and RFID Reader. The sensing and exit or entry control data are transmitted a server system through internet that connected Wireless Gateway with AP, so we can monitoring the saved data on shipboard database.

  • This paper has implemented a ubiquitous healthcare system that can measure and check the electrocardiogram of a human body in anytime and anywhere. The implemented prototype is composed of electrocardiogram measurement terminal, data gathering base node, and medical information server. The implemented node constructs a sensor network using the Zigbee protocol and the TinyOS is installed on each node. The data gathering base node is linux-based node that can transfer sensed medial data through wireless LAN. And, the medical information server stores the processed medical data and can promptly notify the urgent status to the connected medical team. Through experiment, we confirmed the possibility of ubiquitous healthcare system based on sensor network using the Zigbee.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented home gateway system for remote control of home appliances and devices using cellular phone. The system communicate home devices through Zigbee protocol and home server based on Linux operating system communicate cellular phone through external networks. We expect that the system apply various fields as home automations, home network, smart offices, and ubiquious environments.

  • In ZigBee network, using energy efficiently is necessary because ZigBee node works by battery. To use energy efficiently, it is one of the way to reduce unnecessary network traffic. In this paper, it presents efficient shortcut routing algorithm using depth of destination node in ZigBee network. In traditional tree routing, each node transfers data only to its own parent or child node, which is inefficient way. Efficient shortcut routing algorithm is also based on tree routing. However, we suggests the algorithm with using neighbor table and depth of destination that is able to transfer data to other neighbor node, not only to parent or child node. It minimizes coordinator bottleneck state and unnecessary intermediate routing path which happens in traditional tree routing.

  • The coordination of distributed entities and events requires time synchronization. Precision time synchronization enables a variety of extensions of applications and provides much accurate information. The IEEE 1588 precision time protocol (PTP) provides a standard method to synchronize devices in a network. This paper deals with the design and implementation of a PTP gateway to extend IEEE 1588 to Zigbee networks. The PTP gateway can not only extend IEEE 1588 to Zigbee networks but also share the same time reference using IEEE 1588 between two or more Zigbee networks. This paper also presents experiments and performance evaluation of time synchronization using the PTP gateway. Our result established a method for nodes in a network to maintain their clocks to within a 300 nanosecond offset from the reference clock of a master node via Ethernet.
