  • We propose a new method to deal with the optimized auto-tuning for the PID controller which is used to the process-control In various fields. First of all, in this method, 1st order delay system with dead time which is modelled from the unit step response of the system is Pade -approximated, then initial values are determined by the Ziegler-Nichols method. After inputting constraints of evolution programs, we perform crossover and mutation to generate the descendant generation. The advantage of this method is better than the Ziegler-Nickels method in characteristic of output and has extent of applying without limit of K, L, T.

비례유량제어밸브 위치제어기 자동조정 (Auto Tuning of Position Controller for Proportional Flow Control Solenoid Valve)

  • 비례솔레노이드밸브는 코일전류에 비례하는 전자기력을 이용하여 밸브 변위를 연속적으로 가변시키는 밸브이다. 대용량 비례유량제어밸브는 발전소나 화학 플랜트에서 물, 스팀, 가스 등과 같은 공정유체의 대용량 유량제어에 사용되며 공압이나 모터를 이용하는 밸브에 비하여 우수한 응답성능과 소형화의 장점을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 비례제어밸브를 대상으로 밸브의 동적 특성을 식별한 후 목표 성능이 만족되도록 위치제어기의 비례적분이득을 자동으로 조정하는 기능을 설계하였다. 동특성 식별은 릴레이 피드백을 통하여 한계 안정 상태에서의 임계이득과 임계주기로 파악하였으며, 비례적분이득 결정에는 Ziegler-Nichols 방법을 적용하였다. 구현된 기능은 시험을 통하여 성능을 검증하였으며 밸브 작동점과 릴레이 제어기 변수가 자동조정에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.

퍼지 간접추론법에 의한 비례-적분-미분 제어기의 점진적 자기동조

  • A self tuning technique is derived for PID controllers which are widely used in industries. The tuning algorithm is based upon a fuzzy indirect reasoning method and an iterative technique. The fuzzy technique is considered to obtain ease and simplicity of tuning process. The PID gains for the first tuning action are determined by a method which is modified from the Ziegler-Nichols step response method. The first PID gains are determined to obtain a control performance so close to a design performance that the followed tuning process can be made effectively. The design parameters are given as time-domain variables which human is familiar with. The results of simulation studies show that the proped tuning method can produce an effective tuning for arbitaray design performances.

  • Parameter tuning methods by Ziegler-Nickels for control systems are generally classified into Z-N(1) and Z-N(2). The purpose of this paper is to describe what relations exist between methods of Z-N(1) and Z-N(2), or how Z-N(1) method can be originated from Z-N(2) method by analyzing one loop control system of P or PI controller and time delay process. The formulas of Z-N(1) consist of process parameters, L(time delay), $K_m$(gain) and $T_m$(time constant), but Z-N(2) method is based only on the ultimate gain $K_u$ and the ultimate period $T_u$ acquired normally by practical trial without any parameters of Z-N(1). In this paper, for the first step to seek mutual relations, the simple formulas of Z-N(2) are transformed into the formulas composed of the same parameters as Z-N(1) which is derived from the analysis of frequency characteristics. Then, the approximation of the actual ultimate frequency is proposed as important premise in the translation between Z-N(1) and (2). Such equalization and approximation brings a simple approximated formula which can explain how Z-N(1) is originated from the Z-N(2) in the form of formula. And a model system is adopted to compare the approximated formula to Z-N(1) and Z-N(2) methods, the results of which show the effectiveness of the proposals.

  • In this paper, we present a fuzzy logic based tuner for continuous on-line tuning of PID controllers. The essential idea of the scheme is to parameterize a Ziegler-Nichols-like tuning formula by a singler parameter .alpha., then to use an on line fuzzy logic to self-tune the parameter. The adaptive scaling makes the controller robust against large variations in parametric and dynamics uncertainties in the plant model. New self-tuning controller has the ability to decide when to use PI or PID control by extracting process dynamics from relay experiments. These scheme lead to improved performance of the transient and steady state behavior of the closed loop system, including processes with nonminimum phase processes.

  • This paper describes the procedures for pre-tuning and re-tuning the gains of PI controller based on output patterns -output error integral- of the unknown process which may not have any information, for example, system order, deadtime, time constant, etc. The key ideas of the proposed adaptive scheme are as follows. The scheme determines the initial gains by using ZNM (Ziegler-Nichols Method) with relay feedback, and then the adaptive algorithms by pattern recognition are introduced for re-runing the PI gains with on-line scheme whenever control conditions are changed. Because, among the various auto-tuning procedures, ANM with relay feedback has the difficulty in re-tuning with on-line and Bristol method has no comment on initial settings and has variables to pre-determine, which makes the algorithm comples, the proposed methods have the combined scheme with above two procedures to recover those problems. And this paper proposes a simple way to determine adaptive constant in Bristol method. To show the validity of the proposed method, an example is illustrated by computer simulation and a laboratory process, heat exchanger, is experimented.

PID 이득 동조를 위한 퍼지 스케줄링 (Fuzzy Scheduling for the PID Gain Tuning)

  • 본 논문에서는 PID 제어기의 이득 동조를 위한 퍼지 제어기를 제안한다. 제안한 제어기는 PID 제어기의 크리스퍼 출력 오차를 그대로 사용하지 않는 전단 퍼지화기에서 추론단계는 갖지만 Rule Table은 갖지 않는 특징이 있으며, 출력 소속 함수에 두 변수의 관계와 범위를 이용 도식화된 영역에서 비퍼지화 시킨 비선형 출력값을 PID 계수에 부가하는 새로운 Fuzzy PID 제어기를 제안한다. 여기서 Kp, Kd 계수의 최대, 최소 범위를 설정하여 퍼지추론에 의해 새로운 Kp, Kd 계수론 구한다. Ki 계수는 Ziegler-Nichols 동조 규칙을 사용하여 구하였고, 제안한 제어기는 유압서보모터 제어시스템에 의해 실험하였으며 실험결과 양호한 제어특성을 통해 원하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 공정제어에 널리 사용되는 PID제어기의 최적 자동 동조(Auto-tuning)에 관한 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 먼저 제어대상의 계단응답으로부터 모델링된 1차 지연계를 파데근사화하고, Ziegler-Nichols의 방법으로 초기값을 정한 후, 최대 오버슈트, 감쇠비, 상승시간, 정정시간을 포함하는 퍼지 평가함수를 최대로 하는 PID계수를 구함으로써 제어대상의 특성이나 부동작시간의 변화에도 적응성이 좋다는 장점이 있다.

PI 및 PD Type Fuzzy Controller의 자기동조에 관한 연구 (A study on self tuning fuzzy PI and PD type controller)

  • This paper describes a development of self tuning scheme for PI and PO type fuzzy controllers. The output scaling factor(SF) is adjusted on-line by fuzzy rules according to the current trend of the controlled process. The rule-base for tuning the output SF is defined on error and change of error for the controlled variable using the most natural and unbiased membership functions. Simulation results demonstrate the better control performance can be achieved in comparison with Ziegler-Nichols(Z-N) PID controllers.

  • In this paper, we re-analyzed the fuzzy controller as conventional PID controller structure, and proposed a self tuning fuzzy PID controller whose input output scaling factors were tuned automatically. At first stage, the tuning parameters of fuzzy controller were determined by Ziegler-Nichols tuning method and then they were adjusted as the delay time and process environment were changed. Proposed controller was simple in its structrue and computational burden was small so that on line adaptation was easy to apply to. The result of computer simulation and practical experiment showed the proposed controller's excellent performance
