Digital PLL Control for Phase-Synchronization of Grid-Connected PV System (계통 연계형 태양광 발전 시스템의 위상 동기화를 위한 디지털 PLL 제어)

  • The frequency and phase angle of the utility voltage are important in many industrial systems. In the three-phase system, they can be easily known by using the utility voltage vector. However, in the case of single phase system, there are some difficulties in detecting the information of utility voltage. In conventional system, the zero-crossing detection method is widely used, but could not obtain the information of utility voltage instantaneously. In this paper, the new digital PLL control using virtual two phase detector is proposed with a detailed analysis of single-phase digital PLL control for utility connected systems. The experimental results under various utility conditions are presented and demonstrate an excellent phase tracking capability in the single-phase grid-connected operation.

  • This paper describes the development of temperature controller using program control method for small heating system. This system consists of three parts; sensing part, control part that includes the PID control algorithm, and actuating part. We introduce a zero-crossing control method of TRIAC and firmware technique using single chip micro-controller(ATmega8535) in the control part.

Synchronous Carrier-based Pulse Width Modulation Switching Method for Vienna Rectifier

  • This paper proposes a synchronous switching technique for a Vienna rectifier that uses carrier-based pulse width modulation (CB-PWM). A three-phase Vienna rectifier, similar to a three-level T-type converter with three back-to-back switches, is used as a PWM rectifier. Conventional CB-PWM requires six independent gate signals to operate back-to-back switches. When internal switches are operated synchronously, only three independent gate signals are required, which simplifies the construction of gate driver circuits. However, with this method, total harmonic distortion of the input current is higher than that with conventional CB-PWM switching. A reactive current injection technique is proposed to improve current distortion. The performance of the proposed synchronous switching method and the effectiveness of the reactive current injection technique are verified using simulations and experiments performed with a set of Vienna rectifiers rated at 5 kW.

Malfunction detection in plasma etching process using EPD signal trace (EPD 신호검출에 의한 플라즈마식각공정의 이상검출)

  • EPD(End Point Detection) is used to decide etching degree of layer which must be removed at wafer etching process in plasma etching process which is one of the most important process in semiconductor manufacturing. In this thesis, the method which detects malfunction of etching process in real-time will be discussed. Several EPD signal traces are collected in normal plasma etching condition and used as reference EPD signal traces. Critical points can be detected by applying differentiation and zero-crossing techniques to reference EPD signal. Mean and standard deviation of critical parameters which is memorized from reference EPD signal are calculated and these determine the lower and higher limit of control chart. And by applying statical control chart to EPD signals which are collected in real etching process malfunctions of process are detected in real-time. By means of applying this method to the real etching process we prove our method can accurately detect the malfunction of etching process and can compensate disadvantage of current industrial method.

The Effects of Lift-Off from Wall Thinning Signal in Pulsed Eddy Current Testing

  • In order to know the effect of surface irregularity in the detection of local wall thinning of pipeline using pulsed eddy current (PEC), the lift-off effects on PEC signal have been investigated. Three kinds of parameters in the PEC signal, which is "peak amplitude", "time to peak amplitude" and "time to zero crossing" are analyzed to separate the lift-off effects in the PEC signal. The distance from sensor to the bottom of sample which is the total thickness of combined insulator and sample is kept constant. The magnitude of the differential peak amplitude is increased with increasing sample thickness, the time to peak amplitude is increased with increasing the sample thickness. To determine the effect of lift-off, a number of balanced transient responses combining wall thinning locations and lift-off distances were plotted.

  • This paper presents concrete pattern recognition method to identify the strength of concrete by evidence accumulation with multiple parameters based on artificial intelligence techniques. At first, zero-crossing(ZCR), mean frequency(MEANF), median frequency(MEDF) and autoregressive model coefficient(ARC) are extracted as feature parameters from ultrasonic signal of concrete. Pattern recognition is carried out through the evidence accumulation procedure using distance measured with reference parameters. A fuzzy mapping function is designed to transform the distances for the application of the evidence accumulation method. Results are presented to support the feasibility of the suggested approach for concrete pattern recognition.

Measurement of Thermal Diffusivity Using Deformation Gradient and Phase in the Photothermal Displacement Technique

  • As technology advances with development of new materials, it is important to measure the thermal diffusivity of material and to predict the heat transfer in the solid subject to thermal processes. The measurement of thermal properties can be done in a non-contact way using photothermal displacement spectroscopy. In this work, the thermal diffusivity was measured by analyzing the magnitude and phase of deformation gradient. We proposed a new data analysis method based on the real part of deformation gradient as the pump-probe offset value. As the result, compared with the literature value, the measured thermal diffusivities of materials showed about 3 % error.

  • 본 논문은 두 부류의 오디오 원에 대해 각각 다른 구조를 가지는 필터뱅크를 설계 하고 스위칭 기준을 제안한다. 균일한 필터뱅크로는 MDCT 필터뱅크를 사용하고 필터 뱅크 로는 웨이브렛 패킷 필터뱅크를 사용하였으며 오디오 신호의 시변 특성에 기초하여 두 필터 뱅크를 스위칭한다. MDCT 필터뱅크는 정상신호 표현에 적절하지만 급격한 변화를 포함하 는 오디오 신호를 표현하는데는 적절하지 못한다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 사용한 웨이브렛 패 킷 필터뱅크는 인간의 청각 특성을 고려한 임계대역(critical band)과 유사하게 설계하였으며 스위칭 기준엣는 에너지-엔트로피(energy-entropy), 영교차(zero-crossing)법 그리고 차분 (difference)기준을 사용하였다. 입력되는 오디오 신호의 통계적 특성에 기안하여 두 필터뱅 크를 스위칭하는 방식의 오디오 부호화기에 대해서 새로운 스위칭 기준을 제안하였다. 여러 가지 오디오 신호에 대한 주관적 평가(MOS)를 수행한 결과, 기존의 부호화기보다 좋은 성 능을 보였다.

A Study on the Phoneme Recognition in the Restricted Continuously Spoken Korean (제한된 한국어 연속음성에 나타난 음소인식에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for machine recognition of phonemes in continuously spoken Korean. The proposed algorithm is a static strategy neural network. The algorithm uses, at the stage of training neurons, features such as the rate of zero crossing, short-term energy, and either PARCOR or auditory-like perceptual linear prediction(PLP) but not both, covering a time of 171ms long. Numerical results show that the algorithm with PLP achieves approximately the frame-based phoneme recognition rate of 99% for small vocabulary recognition experiments. Based on this it is concluded that the proposed algorithm with PLP analysis is effective in phoneme recognition.

  • 현재 출시되어 있는 대부분의 콘텐츠들은 일반인들의 감각, 감성 욕구를 채워주고 있다. 하지만 사회의 소외계층인 장애인들을 위한 콘텐츠는 그리 많지 않으며 배제되어 왔다. 이 논문에서는 시각 장애인들을 위한 감성 전달 서비스 기법을 제시하였다. 기존의 콘텐츠는 자막 단순화로 인해 소리를 들을 수 없는 청각장애인들에게 매우 불편함을 주고 있다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 청각 장애인은 물론 일반인들에게도 소리를 들을 수 없는 환경에서 최적의 감성 전달 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 감성 지원 캡션시스템을 구현하여 제시한다.
