AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68, two new members of GBFs, can interact with other G group bZIPs in Arabidopsis thaliana

  • AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 are two putative G group bZIP transcription factors in Arabidopsis thaliana, the other three members of G group bZIPs are GBF1-3 which can bind G-box. Members of G group have conservative protein structure: highly homological basic region and a proline-rich domain in the N-terminal region. Here, we report that AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 could bind cis elements with ACGT core, such as G-box, Hex, C-box and As-1, but with different binding affinities which from high to low were G-box > Hex > C-box > As-1; AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 could form homodimer and form heterodimer with other members of G group; N-terminal proline rich domain of AtbZIP16 had transactivation activity in yeast cells while that of AtbZIP68 did not; AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 GFP fusion protein localized in the nucleus of onion epidermal cells. These results indicated that AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 were two new members of GBFs. In Arabidopsis, AtbZIP16 and AtbZIP68 may also participate in light-responsive process in which GBF1-3 are involved.

ZIP 공정을 관리하는 GLR 관리도 (A GLR Chart for Monitoring a Zero-Inflated Poisson Process)

  • 단위 영역의 결점수는 일반적으로 Poisson 분포를 가정한다. 이 Poisson 분포의 확장된 형태로 ZIP(zero-inflated Poisson) 분포를 고려할 수 있는데, 이 모형은 데이터에 0이 많이 관측되는 경우 잘 적합된다고 알려져 있다. 이 논문에서는 ZIP 분포를 따르는 공정을 관리하는 GLR(generalized likelihood ratio) 관리도 절차를 제안하고 있다. 또한 제안된 GLR 관리도의 효율을 기존에 제안된 CUSUM 관리도들과 비교하였다. 그 결과 제안된 GLR 관리도는 모수의 다양한 변화에 대해 효율이 좋거나 또는 효율이 크게 떨어지지 않았고, 특히 CUSUM 관리도에서 모수가 미리 설정한 방향과 다르게 변화했을 때 효율이 크게 나빠지는 문제를 해결할 수 있는 대안이라는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we describe the system to recognize the six digit postal number of mails using neural network. Our zip-code recognition system consists of a preprocessing procedure for the original captured image, a segmentation procedure for separating an address block area with a shape, and recognition procedure for the cognition of a postal number. we extract the feature vectors that are the input of a neural network for the recognition process based on an area optimizing and an image thinning processing. The neural network classifies the zip-code in the mail and the recognized zip-code is verified through the zip-code database.

The coordinated regulation of mitochondrial structure and function by Drp1 for mitochondrial quality surveillance

  • Mitochondrial morphology is known to be continuously changing via fusion and fission, but it is unclear what the biological importance of this energy-consuming process is and how it develops. Several data have suggested that mitochondrial fission executed by Drp1 is necessary to select out a damaged spot from the interconnected mitochondrial network, but the precise mechanism for the recognition and isolation of a damaged sub-mitochondrial region during mitochondrial fission is yet unclear. Recently, Cho et al. found that the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) is transiently reduced by the physical interaction of Drp1 and mitochondrial Zinc transporter, Zip1, at the fission site prior to the typical mitochondrial division, and we found that this event is essential for a mitochondrial quality surveillance. In this review, Cho et al. discuss the role of a mitochondrial fission in the mitochondrial quality surveillance system.

  • This paper describes how using the XPS Document technologies of Windows Vista support and enhances interactions with the structural design and construction process. It illustrates the document workflows and the document life cycle in a typical construction base knowledge system. It provides engineers and decision makers and implementers with information about this new technology and how they can apply it to their design and construction models. The paper also highlights opportunities for the new format of data exchange in the recent efforts to develop National Management System Standards for Transportation Applications to benefit from these emerging technologies.

  • The objective of this article is to analysis of Acupuncture & Moxibustion Fix-a-day Method (AMFDM) shown in the acupuncture documents of the Chosun-Korea dynasty. Through such inquisition, The development process of AMFDM could be found. cross-comparison analysis of the contents of three medical books, Chim-Gu-Tek-Il-Pien-Zip(CGTIPZ), Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam(DEBG) and Chim-Gu-Gyung-Hum-Bang (CGGHB) of the Chosun-Korea dynasty. The development process of AMFDM of the three books is different from each other, depending on the purpose of writing books. But The three books contain common parts. It could be divided into three types, Simple-AMFDM, Extensive-AMFDM and Spirit-Existence-AMFDM. The development process of AMFDM of the Chosun-Korea dynasty has three steps. First, Integration and specialization phase in CGTIPZ. CGTIPZ sum many kind of AMFDMs up, and compare them to be specialized area. Second, Setting theory phase in DEBG. DEBG theorize AMFDM made of Spirit-Existence-AMFDM. Third, Practical use phase in CGGHB. CGGHB invented practical reinforcement to replace complicated ones.

  • 압축 과정 중에 빠른 처리율을 보여주는 렘펠-짚 알고리즘의 결합에 의하여 채널 전송율은 증가한다. 영상정보의 압축 과정동안 처리율을 향상시키기 위하여 ICMEP 알고리즘을 제안하였으며 HDTV에 적용시켜 엔트로피 부호화기를 설계하였으며 이를 검증하였다. ICMEP 엔트로피 암호기는 top-down 방식을 이용하여 설계하였으며 VHDL을 이용하여 회로 합성 및 모의실험을 수행하였다. 모의실험 결과, 구현된 ICHEP 엔트로피 부호화기는 메모리 포화방지 및 압축률 증가로 인하여 전체적인 시스템 효율이 향상됨을 확인하였다.

  • Objectives : The objective of this article is to compare acupuncture treatment of stroke in the medical documents of the Chosun-Korea dynasty. Through such inquisition, the development process of acupuncture of stroke treatment could be found. Methods : We used Cross-comparison analysis of the contents of five medical books, HyangYakZipSungBang (HYZSB), UiRimChwarYo(URCY), DongEuiBoGam(DEBG), ChimGuGyungHumBang(CGGHB) and Saam-Acupuncture(SA) of the Chosun-Korea dynasty. Results & Conclusion : 1. Distinction between Stroke of Viscera and Stroke of Bowel was important. Firts two books divided stroke into three type. But last three books separated into Stroke of Viscera and Stroke of Bowel. 2. They emphasized Symptoms of Five Visceral Disease. They devised Symptoms of Five Visceral Disease for Stroke of Viscera treatment. This method appears very rarely in clinical medicine. 3. They used common important acupoint for treatment of stroke. Most of these acupoints exist at the limbs. 4. They chose acupoints on the opposite side against the symptom.

  • Many modalities of treatment for acquired skin hyperpigmentation are available including chemical agents or physical therapies, but none are completely satisfactory. The ideal depigmenting compound should have a potent. rapid and selective bleaching effect on hyperactivated melanocytes, carry no short- or long-term side-effects and lead to a permanent removal of undesired pigment. acting at one or more steps of the pigmentation process. Depigmentation can be achieved by regulating (i) the transcription and activity of tyrosinase, tyrosinase related protein-1 (TRP-1), tyrosinase related protein-2 (TRP-2), and/or peroxidase; (ii) the uptake and distribution of melanosomes in recipient keratinocytes and (iii) melanin and melanosome degradation and turnover of pigmented keratinocytes. One of the interesting point for development of skin whitening agent is Mitf(Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor). Mitf belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix-zip family of trabscription factors and it is crucial as it regulates both melanocyte proliferation as well as melanogenesis and is the major regulator of tyrosinase and the related enzymes (TRPs), as well as many melanosome structural proteins such as pMel17. Recently, we developed MITF-down-regulating agents from natural and synthetic sources, which have anti-melanogenic effect on in vitro and in vivo. We suggested that potent MITF-down regulating agents might be used for skin whitening cosmeceuticals.

  • 디지털 시대의 발전과 더불어, 디지털 자료의 중요성과 그로 인한 디지털 포렌식 수사의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 디지털 증거의 수집 및 분석 과정에서 정보저장매체의 손상이나 안티포렌식 등으로 발생하는 주요 문제점인 손상된 파일의 데이터 식별 불가능으로 증거 수집이 원활하게 이뤄지지 않고 있다. 또한, 손상된 파일복구를 위한 기존 도구의 기술적 한계로 인해 복구에 어려움이 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문은 디지털 자료 생성에 활용되는 손상된 MS Office 파일의 복구 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 복구 방안 제시를 위하여 MS Office 파일 구조인 OOXML포맷을 분석하고, 기존 복구 도구의 한계를 극복하기 위한 새로운 접근 방식을 제시한다. 이를 통해 손상된 데이터를 보다 효율적으로 복구하고 식별할 수 있는 방안을 마련함으로써 디지털 포렌식 분야에서 증거 수집의 질을 향상하는데 기여하고자 한다.
