The pro-apoptotic BCL-2 family protein BID activates BAK and/or BAX, which form oligomeric pores in the mitochondrial outer membrane. This results in the release of cytochrome c into the cytoplasm, initiating the apoptotic cascade. Here, we utilized liposomes encapsulating sulfo-rhodamine at a controlled temperature to improve upon a previously reported assay system with enhanced sensitivity and specificity for measuring membrane permeabilization by BID-dependent BAK activation. BAK activation was inhibited by BCL-$X_L$ protein but not by a mutant protein with impaired anti-apoptotic activity. With the assay system, we screened a chemical library and identified several compounds including trifluoperazine, a mitochondrial apoptosis-induced channel blocker. It inhibited BAK activation by direct binding to BAK and blocking the oligomerization of BAK.

Donguisusaebowon, Kogchigo are wrritten by Dong-Mu. Dokhaengpyun of the Kogchigo has philosophy of Dong-Mu about Gi-In. In order to understand constitutional medicine of Dong-Mu, it is necessary to study about Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja(four types of man) in Dokhaengpyun. The results are summarized as follows : 1. In Dokhaengpyu, it is defined that In-Eui-Ye-JI - the nature of human - as In-Ja, Eui-Ja, Ye-Ja, Ji-Ja. This attribute is composed of Chung-Sin-Ip-Yong. We can know that this concept, that is Chung-Sin-Yeum-Hae'Ja, is relative to the Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja. 2. We can think and infer the relation of Sabujisim of Myeng-Ja and Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja from Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Bu that is attribute of In-Eui-Ye-ji'Ja. Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja can approach the behavior of Chung-Sin-Yeum-Hae'Ja, if they heard the attitude of YouHaHye and BaelYi which they have attribute of In-Eui-Ye-Ji'Ja. 3. They explain Tthat Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra-Jisim is quoted from SaBuJiSim of Dahak. Thinking that Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra-Jisim of Dokaengpyun and SaBujiSim of YuRiak, we know that there is no rule. So, it is difficult that we can infer the Simyok and make some pattern. 4. The relationship of Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja and In-Eui-Ye-Ji are different from the relationship of Dokhaegpyun, Sadanron, In-Eui-Ye-Ji of YuRiak and Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja. If we regard the In-Eui-Ye-Ji Sadan as the nature of human, many attritude can be possible and it may be different that apply a Sadan to the proper time and environment. Therefore, we have to be accepted change, as applying method than fixing idea.

To examine the effect of tumor suppressor protein p53 on the antitumor activity of 2-methoxyestradiol (2-MeO-$E_2$), 2-MeO-$E_2$-induced cell cycle changes and apoptotic events were compared between the human colon carcinoma cell lines HCT116 ($p53^{+/+}$) and HCT116 ($p53^{-/-}$). When both cell types were exposed to 2-MeO-$E_2$, a reduction in the cell viability and an enhancement in the proportions of $G_2/M$ cells and apoptotic sub-$G_1$ cells commonly occurred dose-dependently. These 2-MeO-$E_2$-induced cellular changes, except for $G_2/M$ arrest, appeared to be more apparent in the presence of p53. Immunofluorescence microscopic analysis using anti-${\alpha}$-tubulin and anti-lamin B2 antibodies revealed that after 2-MeO-$E_2$ treatment, impaired mitotic spindle network and prometaphase arrest occurred similarly in both cell types. Following 2-MeO-$E_2$ treatment, only HCT116 ($p53^{+/+}$) cells exhibited an enhancement in the levels of p53, p-p53 (Ser-15), $p21^{WAF1/CIP1}$, and Bax; however, the Bak level remained relatively constant in both cell types, and the Bcl-2 level decreased only in HCT116 ($p53^{+/+}$) cells. Additionally, mitochondrial apoptotic events, including the activation of Bak and Bax, loss of ${\Delta}{\psi}m$, activation of caspase-9 and -3, and cleavage of lamin A/C, were more dominantly induced in the presence of p53. The Bak-specific and Bax-specific siRNA approaches confirmed the necessity of both Bak and Bax activations for the 2-MeO-$E_2$-induced apoptosis in HCT116 cells. These results show that among 2-MeO-$E_2$-induced apoptotic events, including prometaphase arrest, up-regulation of Bax level, down-regulation of Bcl-2 level, activation of both Bak and Bax, and mitochondria-dependent caspase activation, the modulation of Bax and Bcl-2 levels is the target of the pro-apoptotic action of p53.

Rhodium (II) (isobutyrate)$_{4}L_2$, an antinumor drug, was shown to reactr with nucleic acid base derivatives, A, G, U and C in chloroform solution. When these derivatives were treated with one of novel metal compounds, rhodium carboxylate in chloroform solution, a fairly strong complex formation was observed by spectroscopic techniques. The characteristic of these complex was that binding occured at the two axial positions of rhodium (II) (isobutyrate)$_{4}L_2$ to the NH or )$NH_2$ group of the base in the ligands.

최근 하드웨어의 컴퓨팅 능력이 좋아짐에 따라 기계학습 분야가 주목받고 있다. 이에 따라 많은 양의 데이터를 처리하기 수월해졌으며 수많은 데이터들을 기계학습 알고리즘을 통해 학습시키기 간편해졌다. 이러한 발전으로 기계학습이 적용되는 분야 또한 넓어져 교육 분야에도 활발히 적용되고 있다. 본 논문은 SVM(Support Vector Machine)을 사용하여 교실 내 좌석과 시간에 따른 졸음을 예측하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법을 통해 교사들은 학생들의 졸음을 사전에 방지 하여 수업 진행에 큰 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

This study is to examine how Sijo is being accommodated to modern Gagok by comparing them. In details, the work is about comparison between three verses in Sijo and twofold grouping in modern Gogok, JoongYuUm in traditional Gagok, YuBak in Sijo, the interlude, ADanSungJang, and changing verses in modern Gagok. First point is about three verses in Sijo and a rhythm of twofold grouping in modern Gagok. In particular, modern Gagok is treated as a group of twofold leaving three verses of Sijo. The way is chosen that whether it sets on an interlude into a song or the third part of three verses in Sijo is extended to avoid its logic of music and poem. Second, the discussion moves points on between an interlude in traditional Gagok and in Sijo. In the process of grouping twofold in modern Gagok, the parts which are interludes of both in traditional Gagok and in Sijo, combined with the interlude of the modern Gagok. It shows that the modern Gagok is affected on both the traditional Gagok and the Sijo. In addition, it explains elements of ADanSungJang - - tones and sounds in the modern Gagok. Originally, the traditional Gagok and sijo are composed of tones and sounds. At this point, tones are short, whereas sounds should be longer. This kind of way in the song has appeared on the modern Gagok of Hong, Nan-Pa. Lastly, the factors is about changing verses of modern Gagok. The one of differences between the modern Sijo and traditional Sijo is verses. For example, when it comes to sijo by Lee, Eun-Sang, he used to create his sijo with three verses. Hence, he did not change verses on his works. Whereas, the modern song "The Spring Lady" by Hong, Nan-Pa has shown the phenomenon that is separating three verses into six verses. It is noticeable that this phenomenon in "The Spring Lady" has the same bases with the modern Sijo.

This study was carried out to investigate the biological activities, including the total polyphenolic contents, antioxidant activities, and tyrosinase inhibition activities, of various cultivars of unripe peaches (Prunus persica L. Batsch). The results indicate that the total polyphenolic content (gallic acid equivalent mg/g) was the highest in Yumefuji among six-cultivars (Takinosawa Gold, Kawanakawase Hakuto, Madoka, Yumefuji, Nagasawa Hakuho, and Hong Bak) of unripe peaches, whereas it was the lowest in Madoka. Antioxidant effects of unripe peaches were determined in three different in vitro bioassays measuring DPPH radical scavenging, ABTS radical scavenging, and reducing power activity. In the results, antioxidant activity was also higher in Yumefuji than other cultivars. Tyrosinase inhibition activity ranged from 4.65% to 8.58%, and Hong Bak displayed the highest tyrosinase inhibition activity, although the difference was not significant. This study will provide information on antioxidant and tyrosinase inhibition activities for the development of natural compounds as functional cosmetics.

This study investigated the general perception of government public relations practitioners in the Noh Moo Hyun and Lee Myung Bak administrations toward media relations and false reports. It examined whether these government public relations practitioners' perceptions are different according to changing government public relations circumstances. This study also investigated how the perceptions of public relations practitioners toward media relations in two different governments affect the overall perception toward false reports. The results showed that the two groups had different perspectives toward media relations, false reports and the causes of false reports. Moreover, the perspectives toward media relations influenced their opinions about false reports. However, they had similar opinions about the way of preventing false reports.

Single crystals of Co-doped quartz (blue quartz) were grown hydrothermally from the $Na_2CO_3$ solution. The size of as-grown crystal was $100{\times}50{\times}35mm^3$ and the growth rate was 0.55 mm/day under the growth condition of $5wt.\%\;Na_2CO_3$ mineralizer, growth temperature of $343^{\circ}C$ and temperature gradient of $22^{\circ}C$. Visible spectrum showed a typical absorption feature of the synthetic blue quartz near 545, 570 and 643 nm. The concentration of color of the as-grown blue quartz related not to the concentration of cobalt in raw material but to the growth temperature.
