  • On the recent, Architecture markets appeared new eyes about Architecture. 'Korea Young Architect Award' organized by the 'Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism' is the right. The award in this age or in the near future we will meet down the building appear to have opinions about. 2008 to 2012, a group of 21 architects or architectural groups were selected. And they are active to this day. This study analyzes the following four indicators for architects throughout the new ideas and would like to provide feedback on them. 계절별 수온에 따른 점토의 침강압밀 특성 연구 (The effect of seasonal water temperature on sedimentation characteristics of dredged clay)

  • The sedimentation rate of particles in a suspension is a function of particle size, initial slurry water content and salinity. Many researches conducted on the behavior of dredged soils have centered on such factors. However, there have been few attempts to assess another important influence factor of seasonal water temperature on designing the placement of dredged materials. In this paper, the effect of seasonal water temperature on sedimentation characteristics of dredged clay was investigated with consideration of three different water temperatures, that are $5^{\circ}C$, $15^{\circ}C$, $35^{\circ}C$, which represent critical water temperatures in winter, spring or fall, and summer, respectively. A series of experimental results reveal that the sedimentation rates for the water temperature of $15^{\circ}C$ and $35^{\circ}C$ are very similar each other, but that of $5^{\circ}C$ that represents a winter season leads to a considerably delayed sedimentation compared to the others. This may be attributable to the retardation of ion-leaching from clay particles at low water temperature.

  • It is of importance to determine the zero effective stress void ratio($e_{00}$), which is the void ratio at effective stress equal to zero, and the relationships of void ratio-effective stress and of void ratio-hydraulic conductivity for characterizing non-liner finite strain consolidation behavior for ultra-soft dredged materials. The zero effective stress void ratio means a transitional status from sedimentation to self-weight consolidation of very soft soil deposits, and acts as a starting point for self-weight consolidation in the non-linear finite strain numerical analysis such as PSDDF. In this paper, a new method for determining the zero effective stress void ratio has been introduced with the aid of measuring electrical resistivity of the specimen. A correlation between the zero effective stress void ratio and the initial slurry void ratio has been proposed, which can be used in PSDDF analysis as an input parameter. Combining all of the accessible experimental data, the consolidation characteristics of a dredged soil from the Incheon area has been studied in detail.

헝가리인 건축가 오돈 레허너의 민족지학적 건축에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Hungarian Architect $\ddot{O}d\ddot{o}n$ Lechner's Ethnographic Approach to His Architecture)

  • ${\ddot{O}}d{\ddot{o}}n$ Lechner has been known as an architect who incorporates Hungarian folk motifs in creating a highly original Hungarian national style. Nevertheless, his work has been surprisingly neither exposed nor familiar to Korean audiences. This article attempts to reveal the unique characteristics of Lechner's architectural thought and ideas along with his buildings in Budapest. First of all, this article presents the evolution of Lechner's architectural thought by dividing his career into four marking periods. They are in chronological order to serve as a record of his architectural career. The authors then discuss his concern on the Hungarian ethnography in architecture while turing away from orthodox classicism. Subsequently, this article analyzes Lechner's three major buildings located at Budapest. By doing so, it attempts to expose his underlying design ideas and to shed light on the most elegant works of the architect. Finally, it marks out Lechner's influences on young Hungarian architects.

  • Recently, world leading companies on manufacturing field are trying to adopt a PLM methodology, which is a new production paradigm, for a survival and strengthening the competitiveness. Some projects for a digital shipyard including a methodology of a digital simulation framework are going on by Seoul national university and Samsung heavy industry. A Database methodology for a scheduling data, an interfacing methodology for a simulation input and output, and a synchronized simulation related methodology are required for enhancing the value of the digital simulation for shipbuilding. In this paper, such a methodologies and a related case study for a fabrication factory and an assembly factory are presented.

근대이후(近代以後) 구미(歐美)의 건축설계경기(建築設計競技)에 대한 연구(硏究) (A study on the modern architectural design competition of Europe and America)

  • This paper aims to study on the periodical competition, the program, the jury organization, the reward, and copyright applied to the buildings which were constructed with architectural design competition performed in European and American region between 19c and 20c. The results of this study are as follows; 1. Befor 1900 Period, the type of buildings added to the competition program; between 1900 period and 1950 period, the works of strong nationality and rich local color were preferred; After 1950 period, the design drawings of high symbol and function were chosen 2. There are three types of design competitions: the open design competition, the invited and limited design competition, and the idea design competition. The open design competition has been most often made. 3. The juries were, most of all, composed of professional architects over 30 percent. 4. The program was written about building scale and appointments, described what form drawings, brief notes and air perspective wood have to be submitted. For instance, the use of colour was not permitted in the drawings, as this might possibly mislead the jurors. 5. The reward was given to the winners; the copyright was given to the first prize winner. 6. The standard of entry's qualification was mostly architect 7, Entry term was from a minimum month to a maximum year after annoncement of competition, it was approximetly 63% between 4 months and 8 months. I am convinced that architect gets freedom of pure creation and joy of society service through competition, architect justifies his profession and keep his useful and creative effort to society constantly, as long as the competition exists.
