  • With the deployment of 5G infrastructure, content delivery network (CDN) will be a key role to provide explosive growing services for the independent media and YouTube which contain high-speed mobile contents. Without a local cache, the mobile backhaul and fronthaul should endure huge burden of bandwidth request for users as the increase number of direct accesses from contents providers. To deal with this issue, this paper fist presents both fronthaul solutions for CDN that use dark fibers and a passive optical network (PON). On top of that, we propose the aggregated content request specialized for PON caching and evaluate and compare its performance to legacy schemes through the simulation. The proposed PON caching scheme can reduce average access time of up to 0.5 seconds, 1/n received request packets, and save 60% of backhaul bandwidth compared to the no caching scheme. This work can be a useful reference for service providers and will be extended to further improve the hit ratio of cache in the future.

  • When a developed paper partition chromatogram was irradiated by means of the pneumatic tube system of the Korean research reactor (neutron flux: 1.5 ${\times}10^{12}n/cm^2$sec.) the qualitative confirmation of the developed spot on the chromatogram was possible. In the case of an organic halogen compounds (chloro-acid, chloro-ester, iodide, and fluoride) the spot analysis was possible by the present method whereas the same spot could not give the distinct coloring with a common coloring reagents. Filterpaper thickness calibration and activity calibration induced by irradiation of the components of the filter paper, which were a source of erraneous interpretation of the spot, were searched and an average filterpaper calibration method and filter paper activity were improvised to obtain a good qualitative analysis of the spot. Finally the use and applicability of this method for the analysis identification of an organic halogen compound were evaluated. As the filter paper phase an ordinary phase (Whatmann #1, filter paper) and reversed phase (liquid paraffin impregnated) were used.

  • Nowadays, online or mobile social network services (SNS) are very popular and widely spread in our society and daily lives to instantly share, disseminate, and search information. In particular, SNS such as YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, and Amazon allow users to upload billions of images or videos and also provide a number of multimedia information to users. Information retrieval in multimedia-rich SNS is very useful but challenging task. Content-based media retrieval (CBMR) is the process of obtaining the relevant image or video objects for a given query from a collection of information sources. However, CBMR suffers from the dimensionality curse due to inherent high dimensionality features of media data. This paper investigates the effectiveness of the kernel trick in CBMR, specifically, the kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) for dimensionality reduction. KPCA is a nonlinear extension of linear principal component analysis (LPCA) to discovering nonlinear embeddings using the kernel trick. The fundamental idea of KPCA is mapping the input data into a highdimensional feature space through a nonlinear kernel function and then computing the principal components on that mapped space. This paper investigates the potential of KPCA in CBMR for feature extraction or dimensionality reduction. Using the Gaussian kernel in our experiments, we compute the principal components of an image dataset in the transformed space and then we use them as new feature dimensions for the image dataset. Moreover, KPCA can be applied to other many domains including CBMR, where LPCA has been used to extract features and where the nonlinear extension would be effective. Our results from extensive experiments demonstrate that the potential of KPCA is very encouraging compared with LPCA in CBMR.

  • We have been developed the smart tourism app and the Instagram and YouTube contents to provide personalized tourism information and travel product information to individual tourists. In this paper, we develop a rule-based smart tourism chatbot with the khaiii (Kakao Hangul Analyzer III) morphological analyzer and Neo4J graph database. In the proposed chatbot system, we use a morpheme analyzer, a proper noun dictionary including tourist destination names, and a general noun dictionary including containing frequently used words in tourist information search to understand the intention of the user's question. The tourism knowledge base built using the Neo4J graph database provides adequate answers to tourists' questions. In this paper, the nodes of Neo4J are Area based on tourist destination address, Contents with property of tourist information, and Service including service attribute data frequently used for search. A Neo4J query is created based on the result of analyzing the intention of a tourist's question with the property of nodes and relationships in Neo4J database. An answer to the question is made by searching in the tourism knowledge base. In this paper, we create the tourism knowledge base using more than 1300 Jeju tourism information used in the smart tourism app. We plan to develop a multilingual smart tour chatbot using the named entity recognition (NER), intention classification using conditional random field(CRF), and transfer learning using the pretrained language models.

  • Global platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube have developed a precise recommendation system based on various information from large set of customers and many of the items recommended here are leading to actual purchases. In this paper, a cluster analysis was conducted according to the attribute of the content, expecting that there would be a difference in user preferences according to the attribute of the recommended content. Gower distance was used for use regardless of the type of variables. In this paper, using the data of movie rating site 'The Movie Dataset', the users were grouped hierarchically and recommended movies based on genre, director and actor variables. To evaluate the recommended systems proposed, user group was divided into train set and test set to examine the precision. The results showed that proposed algorithms have far higher precision than UBCF.

  • We are able to watch international multimedia anytime and anywhere, if we have the devices to connect Internet. Netflix and Youtube are the most massive and the most visited streaming platforms in the world. So If audiences are not familiar with the exotic culture such as behaviors, contexts, sarcasm, history and the current issues, It would happen a consequence that they entirely have to rely on subtitles in order to get inform. This research hereby aims to compare Korean transcriptions of the same movies streamed by the two selected platforms(Netflix and Youtube). As a result, good translation is that translators should use appropriate omissions and detailed explanations in limited time and space so that audience can concentrate on the vedio. If translators study the work in depth and spend enough time working on it, the quality of translation will definitely increase. Finally, this study contributed to the revitalization of the video translation market, which is still in the past, through the misinterpretation of videos produced at a low unit price and with minimal time without guidelines for video translation.
