  • XLPE는 절연성 및 기계적, 열적 특성이 양호하여 1980년대부터 지중배선용 전력케이블의 절연재료로 사용되었다. 현재는 원재료의 성능 개선과 제조기술의 향상에 힘입어 초고압 교류 송배전 케이블용 절연재료로 적용 되고 있다. 절연파괴 강도에 대한 검토는 송전용량의 증대 및 초고압화가 가속됨에 따라 고전계하에서의 장기적인 절연성능을 좌우하는 중요한 요소이며, 절연 열화 현상을 진단하는 방법으로도 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 HVDC용 나노복합 XLPE의 절연재료 평가기술 개발의 기초연구로써 최적의 나노 복합 재료를 확인하기 위하여 제작된 시편들의 전기적 특성 및 열적 특성을 평가하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, the diagnosis system for detecting and localizing the neutral wire defect in an energized XLPE power cable is proposed. The neutral wire defect is detectd and localized by the time-frequency domain reflectometry. To extract the reflected signal from the neutral wire defect, the adaptive RLS filtering is introduced. To verify the proposed method, the experiments for detecting and localizing neutral wire defect in active XLPE power cable is conducted.

  • Treeing inhibitors are added in XLPE matrix to investigate the effect on electrical properties of XLPE. The treeing inhibitors are barbituric acid, 4- (4-Nitrophenylazo) resorcinol and 4-(4-Nitrophenylazo) naphthol. Added amount of each treeing inhibitors were varied form 0phr to 2.0phr. In order to know the changes of electrical properties, break down strength, $tan{\delta}$, and ${\varepsilon}_r$ were measured. Experimental results showed that electrical properties of each sample was slightly changed by amount of additives.

  • XLPE insulated power cables are introduced in Korea in 1980s. The cable installation test has been carried out according to the Korean Technical Reference of Electrical Facilities. But recent research results shows DC Hipot test cannot detect the serious defects in XLPE insulated cables. VLF test is recommended as a installation test of XLPE insulated cables by CENELEC and IEEE standards in 1996 and 2001 respectively. We suggest to apply VLF test as an installation test for XLPE insulated MV cables in Korea.

  • As an answer for need for minimizing the road excavation of a box type tunnel, a method of vertical snake was developed, which is very economical and easy to construct. The reason why it is good is, the road excavation width, steel accessories, the road occupation space decreases with the technology. The pros and cons of 345kV XLPE $2,500mm^2$ horizontal and vertical snake are listed below. In this study, topics such as 345kV XLPE $2,500mm^2$ vertical snake construction standard and the development process of steel accessories, vertical snake construction procedure will be covered.

  • In 1980, 154kV OF cable was installed at the Cheong-Pyeong pumped-storage power station. Effective head of this pumped-storage station is 250m between upper and lower re-servior and length of cable route is 750m. However, several failures have happened owing to steep slope during the operation. 154 kV XLPE cable was applied for this power station to eliminate a lack of stability on account of steep slope and successfully installed in 1991. Meanwhile, installation procedure brings about many problem to be solved. In this paper, we describe the counter measure of cable sliding phenomena caused by heat shrinkage as well as the method of installation of cable under the steep slope condition. And hereafter, we think this paper will be a good reference to design and installation of 154kV XLPE cables in steep slope turnnel at urban areas.

  • At present the XLPE insulated power Cables have installed until 154KV level in KOREA. Therefore, our company has developed 275KV XLPE cable as a means 345KV level-up of CV cable as well as exploitation of overseas markets.   • 오늘날 국내 지중선로는 주로 XLPE케이블과 OF케이블로 구성된다. 기존 사용되던 OF케이블의 화재 위험성 및 환경오염 문제 등으로 인해 XLPE케이블의 비중이 점차 높아지고 있지만 XLPE케이블의 경우 운전 중 케이블의 열화나 절연진단 등이 쉽지 않은 점이 문제로 제기되고 있다. 그나마 XLPE케이블에 대한 PD측정은 현재로서는 가장 유용한 케이블 진단기법으로 알려져 있으며 그 활용성과 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 연구가 국내외적으로 계속되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 실제 운전 중인 154kV 지중송전선로에 대해 PD측정을 수행하고 그 결과로 취득된 Pattern의 분석을 통해 선로내부에서 PD가 발생하고 있는지 판별하는 과정을 소개하였다.

  • The mechanical characteristics of XLPE cable is basic to the installation design. Especially, snake and offset design require accurate coefficient of linear expansion($\alpha$), Young's modulus(E) and bending stiffness(El) of the cable. In this paper, $\alpha$, E and El of 345kV XLPE cable was measured by experimental setup, and verified by measuring axial tension and lateral displacement in snake installation.
