  • Today, Game console on the market share of the game are very large. As technology advances, console game machines have developed the abilities, and more amazing graphics and great game play has provided. In this Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Microsoft and Sony, The two prominent company known for console game, announced the company's next-generation console game machines which is the XBOX-ONE & PLAY STATION4. They hint at a prelude for the next console game machines This paper will analyze merits and demerits of each console game machines, I will suggest the result of analyses about the fact that which machine will succeed in the market.

Physical activity convergence contents for health care of the elderly (융합형 노인건강관리 신체활동 콘텐츠)

  • In rapid aging society, the disease prevention and management for healthy life of the elderly is very important. Regular physical activity is known to be a useful intervention for the physical and mental health of the elderly. In this study, we explore the convergence contents using IT technology as the intervention for encouraging the regular physical activity in the elderly. There are u-Healthcare and serious game as the convergence of health care and IT technology, and the serious game which is added special purpose such as education, training, and treatment to the fun-one of the game element- can be suitable to provide a variety of contents that leads to physical activity in the elderly. The contents inducing physical activities are "Puffer(ATARI, USA)", "WiiFit(Nintendo, JAPAN)", "Age Invaders(MXR Lab, SINGAPORE)", "Xbox $360^{\circ}$+kinect(Microsoft, USA)", "Tangible bicycle game(Donsin Univ., KOREA)", and "3D Gateball game(Soongsil Univ., KOREA)", and these contents can help health care of the elderly. By increasing physical activity through the use of these contents, it will be able to promote physical fitness and body function required in daily life, disease prevention, and maintain health in the elderly.

PSD Sensor Module Based Monocular Motion Capture System (PSD센서모듈 기반 단안 모션캡쳐 시스템)

  • This paper describes a monocular PSD-based motion capture sensor to employ with commercial video game systems such as Microsoft's XBOX and Sony's Playstation II. The system compact, low-cost, and only requires a one-time calibration at the factory. The system includes a PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) and active infrared (IR) LED markers that are placed on the object to be tracked. The PSD sensor is placed in the focal plane of a wide-angle lens. The micro-controller calculates the 3D position of the markers using only the measured intensity and 2D position on the PSD. A series of experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of our prototype system. From the experimental results we see that the proposed system's compact size, low-cost, ease of installation, and high frame rates are suitable for high speed motion tracking in games.

  • Kinect sensor version 2 is a kind of camera released by Microsoft as a computer vision and a natural user interface for game consoles like Xbox one. It allows acquiring color images, depth images, audio input and skeletal data with a high frame rate. In this paper, using depth image, we present a surveillance system of a certain area within Kinect's field of view. With computer vision library(Emgu CV), if an object is detected in the target area, it is tracked and kinect camera takes RGB image to send it in database server. Therefore, a mobile application on android platform was developed in order to notify the user that Kinect has sensed strange motion in the target region and display the RGB image of the scene. User gets the notification in real-time to react in the best way in the case of valuable things in monitored area or other cases related to a reserved zone.

  • One time, Home video game console's penetration was as comparable to the personal computer's penetration, growth has slowed since the advent of smartphones, tablets and moblie devices. But game console actively introducing new IT technologies not available in the pc games and mobile games, still keeping a firm position in the relevent market. In this paper Home video game console's history, contemporary trends, and learn about trends in the company, New IT technologies applied to gaming was analyzed. Home video console market become the arena of New IT technologies according to the introduction of New IT technologies such as gesture recognition technology, speech recognition technology, media facade technology, virtual reality technology.
