  • We fabricated hydrogenated amorphous silicon(a-Si:H) 140 nm thick film on a $180\;nm-SiO_2/Si$ substrate with an inductively-coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition(ICP-CVD) equipment at $250^{\circ}C$. Moreover, 30 nm-Ni film was deposited with a thermal-evaporator sequently. Then the film stack was annealed to induce silicides by a rapid thermal annealer(RTA) at $200{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ in every $50^{\circ}C$ for 30 minuets. We employed a four-point tester, high resolution X-ray diffraction(HRXRD), field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), and scanning probe microscope(SPM) in order to examine the sheet resistance, phase transformation, in-plane microstructure, cross-sectional microstructure evolution, and surface roughness, respectively. We confirmed that nano-thick high resistive $Ni_3Si$, mid-resistive $Ni_2Si$, and low resistive NiSi phases were stable at the temperature of <300, $350{\sim}450^{\circ}C$, and >$450^{\circ}C$, respectively. Through SPM analysis, we confirmed the surface roughness of nickel silicide was below 12 nm, which implied that it was superior over employing the glass and polymer substrates.

  • Purpose : To confirm the accuracy of the radiation dose at the isocenter by the standard linear accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery technique which was developed at Seoul National University Hospital. Materials and Methods : Radiation dosimetry was undertaken during standard 5-arc radiosurgery using 6 MV X-ray beam from CL2100C linac. The treatment head was attached with circular tertiary collimators of 10 and 20 mm diameter. We measured the absorbed dose at the isocenter of a multi-purpose phantom using two kinds of detector : a 0.125 co ionization chamber and a silicon diode detector. Results : The dose differences at each arc plane between the planned dose and the measured dose at the isocenter raged from $-0.73\%\;to\;-2.69\%$ with the 0.125 cc ion chamber, and from $-1.29\%\;to\;-2.91\%$ with the diode detector during radiosurgery with the tertiary collimator of 20 mm diameter. Those with the 10-mm tertiary collimator ranged from $-2.39\%\;to\;-4.25\%$ with the diode. Conclusion : The dose accuracy at the isocenter was ${\pm}3\%$. Therefore, further efforts such ws modification in processing of the archived image through DICOM3.0 format are required to lessen the dose difference.

The near linear I-I-0 angle and its interatomic distance (I-0=3.57(3) A) are indicative of a weak charge transfer interacticn between the frarrework oxygen and iodine. The existence of In3 inside the large cavity indicates that the If ions and H ions may be produced by reaction of In vapor with water molecules which maybe associated with Cd2+ ions in partially dehydrated Cd6-A In3- ions may be produced by the combination of I- and I2.

  • The crystal structure of an acetylene sorption complex of vacuum dehydrated fully Cda+ _exchanged zeolite A has been determined from three-dimensional X-ray diffraction data gathered by counter method. The structure was solved and refined in the cubic space group Pm3m at 294(1) K, a=12.202(3) A and Z=1. We crystal was prepared by dehydration at 723 K and 2.67×104 Pa for 2 days, followed by exposure to 1.60×104 Pa of acetylene gas at 298(1) K. All six Cd2+ions per unit cell are associated with 6-oxgen rings of the aluminosilicate framework. They are distributed over two distinguished threefold axes of unit cell; two of these Cd2+ ions are recessed 0.694 into the sodalite unit from (111) plane of three 0(3)'s and each approaches three framework oxides; the other four Cd2+ ions extend approximately 0.586A into the large cavity. The four Cd2+ ions are in a near tetrahedral environment, 2.220(9)A from·three framework oxide ions and 2.74(7) A from each carbon atom of an acetylene molecule(which is here counted as a monodentate ligand). Full matrix least squares refinement converged to the final error indices R1=0.093 and R2=0.105 using the 292 independent reflections for which I>3σ(I).

  • In this study, a new method for canceling MRI artifacts through the motion translation of image plane is presented Breathing often makes problems in a clinical diagnosis. Assuming that the head moves up and down due to breathing, rigid translational motions in only y(phase encoding axis) direction are treated Unlike the conventional Iterative phase retrieval algorithm, this method is based on the MRI imaging process and analyzing of Image property A new constraint condition with which the motion component and the true image component in the MRI signal can be separated by a simple algebraic operation is extracted After the x(read out) directional Fourier transformation of MRI signal is done, the y(phase encoding) directional spectrum phasing value is Just an algebraic sum of the Image component and the motion component Meanwhile, as It is known that the density of subcutaneous fat area is almost uniform in the head tomographs, the density distribution along a y directional line on this fat area is regarded as symmetric shape If the density function is symmetric, then the phase of spectrum changes linearly with the position Hence, the departure component from the linear function can be separated as the motion component Based on this constrant condition, the new method of artifact cancellation is presented Finally, the effectiveness of this algorithm IS shown by using a phantom with simulated motions.

  • This paper describes the development of interactive visualization techniques and a program that allow us to visualize the structure of the volume data and interactively select and visualize the isosurface components using contour tree. The main characteristic of this technique is to provide an algorithm that draws the contour tree in 2D plane in a way that users easily understand the tree, and to provide an algorithm that can efficiently extract an isosurface component utilizing GPU's parallel architecture. The main characteristic of the program we developed through implementing the algorithms is to provide us with an interactive user interface based on the contour tree for extracting an isosurface component and visualization that integrates with previous isosurface and volume rendering techniques. To show the excelland vof our methods, we applied 3D biomedical volume data to our algorithms. The results show that we could interactively select the isosurface components that represent a polypeptide chain, a ventricle and a femur respectively using the user interface based on our contour tree layout method, and extract the isosurface components with 3x-4x higher speed compared to previous methods.

  • The crystal structure of an iodine sorption complex of vacumm-dehydrated Ag+ and Ca2+ exchanged zeolite A(a=12.174(3)Å) has been determined at 21℃ by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Pm3m. The crystal was prepared by flow method for three days using exchange solution in solution in which mole ratio of AgNO3 and Ca(NO3)2 was 1:150 with total concentration of 0.05 M. The complex was prepared by dehydration at 360℃ and 2×10-6 Torr for 2 days, followed by exposure to about 14.3 Torr of iodine vaporat 80℃ for 24 hours. Full-matrix least-squares refinement converged to the final error indices of R1=0.082, R2=0.068 using 122 reflections for which I > 3σ(I). Two Ag+ ions, 1.1 Ag+ ions, and 4.45 Ca2+ ions per unit cell are located on three different three-fold axes associated with 6-ring oxygens. Two Ag+ ions per unit cell are in the large cavity, 1.399(4)Å from the (111) plane of three oxygens. Another 1.1 Ag+ ions are found at opposite sites. Six iodine molecules are sorbed per unit cell. Each I2 molecule approaches a framework oxide ion axially (O-I=3.43(2)Å, I-I=2.92Å, I-I-O;166.1(3)°), by a charge transfer complex interaction. Two Ag+ ions make a close approach to the iodine molecules (Ag-I ; 2.73(2)Å).

  • In this paper, the implementation and embedding method of the existing air-filled waveguide-filters at millimeter-wave on general PCB substrate is introduced by systematically inserting the vias inside waveguide and mathematically manipulating the simple equations obtained ken the classical circular-post waveguide filter design. All the metal structures placed vertically such as side wall fur perfect ground plane and circular-post for signal control in the air-filled WR-22 waveguide are replaced with several types of via for constructing the bandpass-filter. Side wall and poles inside waveguide are realized by placing a series array of via and tuning the via diameter. The lengths of x, y, z axis are reduced in proportion to root square of employed substrate dielectric constant and especially the length of z axis can be more reduced due to the characteristics of the wave propagation. Because the mass production on PCB is possible without fabricating a large-scaled metal waveguide of WR-22 as input/output ports at millimeter-wave regime, the manufacturing cost is reduced considerably. Finally, when using multilayer process like LTCC for small-sized module, it is one of advantages to use only one layer f3r the filter fabrication. To evaluate the validity of this novel technique, order-3 Chebyshev BPF(Bandpass-Filter) centered at 40 GHz-band with a 2.5 % FBW (Fractional Bandwidth) were used. The employed substrate has relative dielectric constant of 2.2 and thickness of 10 mil of Rogers RT/Duroid 5880. Accroding to design and measurement results, a good performance of insertion loss of 2 ㏈ and return loss of -30 ㏈ is achieved at full input/output ports.

  • We can and must improve the diagnostic images using available knowledge and technology. At the same time we must strive to reduce the patient's integral and entrance radiation dose. Reducing the integral dose to the patient during the radiologic procedure is a primary concern of the patient, especially the pediatric patient, the radiologist and the technologist. A 100cm focal film distance generally is used for most over-table radiography. The early x-ray tubes and screen film combinations required long exposures, which often resulted in motion artifacts. But nowaday, we have the generators and x-ray tubes that can deliver the energy necessary in a very short time and the receptors that can record the information just as rapidly. And, we performed this studies to evaluate the patient exposure dose and the image quality by increasing focal film distance in diagnostic radiography. There are many factors which affected to exposure factor, but we studied to verify of FFD increase, only. Effect of increasing the focal film distance to a 140 cm distance was tested as follows; 1. The focal film distances were set at 100, 120, and 140cm. 2. A 18cm acryl(tissue equivalent) phantom was placed on the table top. 3. An Capintec 192 electrometer with PM 05 ion chamber was placed at the entrance surface of the phantom, and exposure were made at each focal film distances. 4. The procedure was repeated in the same manner as above except the ion chamber was placed beneath the phantom at the film plane. 5. Exit exposure were normalize to 8mR for each portions of the experiment. Based on the success of the empirical measurements, a detailed mathematical analysis of the dose reduction was performed using the percent depth dose data. The results of this study can be summerized as followings ; 1) Increasing FFD from 100 cm to 140 cm, we would create a situation that would have a significant effect on the overall quality of radiograph and achive the 17.42% reduction of entrance dose and the 18.95% reduction of integral dose that the patient receives. 2) Thickness of Al step wedge for equal film density increased with the long distance. 3) Increasing FFD, Magnification of image was lowered. 4) Resolution of image also increased with the FFD. As the results described above, we strongly recommend using the long FFD to provide better information for our patients and profession in abdomen radiographic studies.

  • The forged iron axe of the middle 3rd Century found in the No. 2 wood-framed tomb from the Hwangseongdong site, Gyeongju is rectangular on the plane level. The iron axe shines in met-allic luster, which is light grey with pale creamy tint. The result of X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the axe consists of magnetite and geothite, which can explain why the composition and texture of the original ore has been kept intact. There are fine-grained quartz, calcite, mica, magnetite, amphibole, unknown tungsten minerals, pyroxene and olivine inside the axe. Those must be the impurities that they failed to remove in the thermal treatment process. Generally, the iron axe consists mainly of pearlite texture coexisting ferrite and cementite, and show high carbon contents with homogeneous distribution. It can be interpreted the axe was carburized after the material was made to resemble pure iron. The decarbonization work didn't go well along the process marks. Crude ores of the iron axe are possible utilized by magnetite from the Ulsan mine on the basis of the occurrences and inclusions. It's estimated that the original ore was bloom produced in low-temperature reduction and formed around in $727^{\circ}C$, which is eutetic temperature.
