  • Thermal design fur satellite propulsion system has been performed. Overall design requirements and the constitution for propulsion system is described. To meet the thermal design requirements, both a primary and a redundant heater circuit, each with two thermostats placed in series, will protect each hydrazine-wetted components, even if one heater circuit fails to operate. Heater power is turned off if any one of these thermostats is opened at its higher setpoint. Thus, even if one thermostat is failed closed, the second thermostat will turn off the heater. All such components shall be insulated with MLI. Propulsion heater sizing based on the constant worst cold case condition is conducted through thermal analysis. All heaters selected fur propulsion components operate to prevent propellant freezing satisfying the thermal requirements for the propulsion subsystem over the worst case average voltage, i.e. 25 volts.

  • An analysis has been performed for active thermal control of the KOMPSAT monopropellant rocket engine assembly, i.e., dual thruster module(DTM). The main efforts of this work have been directed at determining proper heater sizes for propellant valves and catalyst beds necessary to maintain their temperatures within specified temperature ranges under KOMPSAT environment and operational conditions. The TAS incorporated with TRASYS thermal radiation analyzer was used to establish a complete heat transfer model which allows to predict the DTM temperature as a function of time. The thermal analysis has been performed in transient mode to verify the appropriate power for catalyst bed heaters necessary to increase catalyst bed temperature to the required value within a specified period of time. Similar analysis has been executed to validate the heater power for the thermostatically controlled primary and redundant heater circuits used to prevent hydrazine freezing, i.e., single fault. Moreover the effect of the radiative property of thermal control coating of heat shield was examined. Thruster firing condition was also simulated for the heat soakback condition. As a consequence, all thermal analysis results for DTM satisfactorily met the thermal requirements for the KOMPSAT DTM under the worst case average voltage, i.e. 25 volt.

Containment Closure Time Following the Loss of Shutdown Cooling Event of YGN Units 3&4

  • The YGN Units 3&4 plant conditions during shutdown operation were reviewed to identify the possible event scenarios following the loss of shutdown cooling (SDC) event. For the five cases of typical reactor coolant system (RCS) configurations under the worst event sequence, such as unavailable secondary cooling and no RCS inventory makeup, the thermal hydraulic analyses were performed using the RELAP5/MOD3.2 code to investigate the plant behavior following the event. The thermal hydraulic analyses include the estimation of time to boil, time to core uncovery, and time to core heat up to determine the containment closure time to prevent the uncontrolled release of fission products to atmosphere. The result indicates that the containment closure is recommended to be achieved within 42 minutes after the loss of SDC for the steam generator (SG) inlet plenum manway open case or the large cold leg open case under the worst event sequence. The containment closure time is significantly dependent on the elevation and size of the opening and the SG secondary water level condition. It is also found that the containment closure needs to be initiated before the boiling time to ensure the survivability of the workers in the containment. These results will provide useful information to operators to cope with the loss of SDC event.

  • 저궤도 관측위성의 광학탑재체는 궤도에서 임무수행을 뒷받침하는 위성 본체와 열적으로 분리되어 각각 독립된 열제어를 할 수 있도록 개발된다. 광학탑재체는 내부에 작동하는 동안에 높은 발열량으로 순간적으로 온도가 상승하는 부품 박스인 FPA(Focal Plane Assembly)의 열을 외부로 방출하기 위한 히트파이프, 방열판으로 구성된 냉각 장치(Cooling Unit)를 가지고 있다. 이러한 냉각 장치는 고온 조건에서 내부 발열을 빠르게 외부로 방출할 수 있는 히트파이프의 성능과 충분한 면적의 방열판 면적을 확보하도록 설계되어야 하고, 동시에 저온 조건에서 최저 온도 이상을 유지하는 위한 히터설계도 포함해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 FPA 냉각 장치의 열제어 요구조건과 현재 열설계 기준의 열해석 결과를 통하여 히터설계에 대한 검토와 설계 제한 조건을 분석을 하였다. 또한 열해석을 이용한 효율적이고 경제적인 위성 히터설계 방식을 제시하고, 이것을 FPA 냉각 장치의 히터설계에 적용하여 개선된 히터설계 요소를 찾았다.

  • Thermal control of satellite propellant tank is achieved by patch heaters enabled by thermostat's behavior. It is important to attach the thermostat on the appropriate position of the propellant tank. However its position cannot be given with exact numerics because tank is spherical. Actually the position for thermostat is designated in relevant drawing approximately, therby, the engineer practices depending on his own experience and intuition. The sensitivity analysis for the position of thermostat is performed such that the influence on the thermal behavior and control of tank is examined quantatively. When assembling tank module, the reasonable performance on the thermal control is believed with possible human errors if the uncertainty in the position of thermostat is not quite large.

정맥 주입용 산삼약침이 인체에 미치는 영향에 관한 임상적 연구 (A Clinical Study on the Effects of Intravenous Wild ginseng Herbal Acupuncture on the Human Body)

  • Background : This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of wild ginseng herbal acupuncture developed for the intravenous use. Healthy male and female volunteers(n=57) went through Randomized Control Trials(RCT). Methods : For those who are under a medication due to common cold or other illnesses were excluded in the primary stage and the subjects with possible abnormalities in the pre-screening process were also excluded in the secondary stage. Then the examination groups were determined by random sampling. Experiment groups were divided into Normal saline injection group(control group), cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture group(experiment group 1) and natural wild ginseng herbal acupuncture group(experiment group 2) Blood tension, body temperature, pulse, and other criteria were measured and analyzed. Results : 1. Intravenous injection of cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture and natural wild ginseng herbal acupuncture didn't cause significant changes in the blood tension, pulse, body temperature, and etc. 2. No significant differences were witnessed in CBC, ESR, biochemistry of blood test and UA between the experiment groups. 3. No significant changes were noted in the thermography before and after the test in the experiment groups. 4. Some of the common physical changes occurring during and after the administration were fatigue, chest distension, and headache in all of the experiment groups. 5. Comparing general condition after one week from the termination of administration, the control group showed worst condition while as the natural wild ginseng herbal acupuncture group displayed best condition. Conclusion : From the above results, we can carefully deduce that the intravenous injection of the wild ginseng herbal acupuncture didn't show significant differences compared to injection of the normal saline. We can infer it is safe on the human body and further studies and reports must be followed.

차량기술, 연료 유종 및 시험모드 특성에 따른 온실가스의 배출특성 연구 (A study on the emission characteristics of greenhouse gases according to the vehicle technology, fuel oil type and test mode)

  • 대기오염에 대한 관심은 국내 외에서 점진적으로 상승하고 있으며, 자동차 및 연료 연구자들은 청정(친환경 대체연료) 연료와 연료품질 향상 등을 이용하여 새로운 엔진 설계, 혁신적인 후처리 시스템 등의 연구를 통하여 차량 배기가스 및 온실가스를 감소시키고자 노력하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 각기 다른 차량기술이 적용된 휘발유, 경유, LPG를 연료로 사용하는 7대의 차량을 대상으로 국내 외에서 법적시험모드로 사용되고 있는 도심모드, 고속모드, 급가 감속, 에어컨사용 및 겨울철 특성을 반영한 저온모드에서 온실가스의 배출특성을 확인하고자 하였다. 사용연료에 관계없이 대부분의 온실가스는 저온인 Cold FTP-75 모드에서 가장 안 좋은 결과가 나타나는 경향을 가지고 있다. 각 차량별 온실가스 증가 요인으로는 가솔린 차량인 A차량(2.0 MPI)과 B차량(2.4 GDI)에서는 최고속 및 급가 감속, 에어컨 사용, 저온 조건의 순인데 비해 E차량(1.6 T-GDI)은 에어컨 사용, 최고속 및 급가 감속, 저온 조건의 순이다. G차량(LPLi)은 에어컨 사용, 저온, 최고속 및 급가 감속 조건의 순으로 가솔린 차량과 다른 특성을 가지고 있다. 경유 차량에 있어서는 A차량(2.0 w/o DPF)과 B차량(2.2 w/ DPF)은 최고속 및 급가 감속, 에어컨 사용, 저온 조건의 순이었고, F차량(1.6 w/ DPF)은 저온, 에어컨 사용, 최고속 및 급가 감속 조건의 순으로 확인되었다. 따라서, 각 연료별로 배출가스 저감 기술을 다르게 적용하여야 효과적인 방법이라고 할 수 있겠다.

복부 가열 패드를 부착한 상의 베이스 레이어의 여유량에 따른 인체 반응 (Human Responses to Pattern Ease of Base Layer with Abdominal Heating Pads)

  • To figure out an appropriate pressure level for a body warming base layer, human responses were observed when the pattern reduction of base layers varied. Under the condition of $2^{\circ}C$, 60% RH, 0.1m/s, ten male subjects participated in the experiment with four sizes of experimental vests where heating pads were attached. The subjective evaluations of the heating vests with different sizes were reported using 7 or 9 point scales. We simultaneously observed chest, abdomen and scapula skin temperatures and microclimate humidity. It was found that the tight pattern as in the case of A or B provided a warmer subjective sensation and skin temperature than C or D; however, there were no differences in skin temperature at the chest. Eventually, the chest temperature decreased after about 30 mins of heating; however, temperature of abdomen increased and indicated that heating with two commercial pads used was inadequate for whole body warming. The pressure sensation of 'tight' was improved after warming the abdomen in a cold environment. Overall, the gaps beyond the original circumference of the abdomen, as in C or D, were not desirable for the local heating of abdomen under the conditions of this experiment where walking was included in the protocol. The experiment garment B with nude waist circumference was the best, and D with the largest ease, was the worst for a comfortable warming vest.

써모스탯 위치변화에 대한 인공위성 추진제 탱크의 열적 반응 해석 (Thermal Response Analysis of Satellite Propulsion Tank with Thermostat Location Variation)

  • 위성 추진제 탱크의 열제어는 써모스탯에 의해 작동되는 히터를 이용해 수행된다. 적절한 위치에 써모스탯을 부착하는 것이 관건이지만 구형 탱크에서는 부착위치를 수치적으로 정확하게 부여하는 것이 불가능하다. 실제로는 도면에 대략적으로 위치를 제시한 후 작업자의 경험과 판단에 의존하여 써모스탯을 부착하는 것이 현실이다. 그러므로 써모스탯의 부착위치에 대한 민감도 해석을 수행함으로써 그에 따른 탱크의 열적 거동 및 열제어에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 파악하였다. 실제 탱크 모듈 조립시 써모스탯의 부착위치에 대한 오차가 존재하더라도 설계 도면에 명시된 값보다 크게 벗어나지 않는 한 탱크의 열제어 성능은 충분히 보장되리라 판단된다.
