  • As digital leisure's activity increase recently, the worry for side effect except right function occurs with reality. In this paper, the importance of leisure, participation effect when someone has a chance to leisure is reviewed. The dysfunction of digital leisure that focuses on usage of the digital device in information society is examined. In order to solve those dysfunction, the measure is presented through education and convergence.

  • Ocean waves are mighty and powerful. Humans have explored the possibility of harnessing this mighty power for decades now. Estimated as suffice, if only, a fraction of this energy is captured and harnessed, the worry for decrease in fossil fuels diminishes and the current energy consumption of the world can be met. Though different types of methods and devices for extracting energy from this nonstop, free source has been proposed, a handful of them have reached commercialization and others are on the verge. This paper discusses the journey so far in terms of devices that have been developed or prototypes proposed or commercialized. Only a list full of them have been discussed though they exist in numbers.

  • As our society is changed to the information & digital society based on the internet, the requirement that the analog certificate of Korean residence is changed to digital one is increased. The Korean Government selected the smart card of 72 KB for the digital certificate of Korean residence and try to insert the personnel information of 41 items to it. The method that the numerous personnel information is stored in one smart card is convenience to use. If the certificate of residence is lost, the number of personnel information is misused or spreaded thorough the Internet by the hacking. In this paper, we analyze the problem about the digital certificate of Korean residence and propose the countermeasure about the problem. In the proposal, the digital certificate of residence have only the certificate. Therefore, the size of the smart card is minimized and can be canceled at the loss of the certificate of residence. And the exposure worry of personnel information will be decreased.

  • Lymphedema is the most common of complications after surgery and radiotherapy in patients with breast cancer or cervical cancer. The cancer itself is a worry, but the lymphedema ia an additional handicap for the patients, both physical and psychosoical. Recently the best treatment of lymphedema is complete lymphedema therapy, and Dr. Foldi developed in 1980s. But this treatment has not always given satisfactory and permanent results. We report a case of the lymphedema patient who was treated by partial decompression therapy.

Robust Tracking Control of Robotic Manipulators Using Fuzzy-Sliding Modes (퍼지-슬라이딩모드를 이용한 로봇의 강건추적제어)

  • Considerable attention has been given to controller designs that utilize the variable structure system theory in order to achieve robust tracking performance of robotic manipulators subjected to parameter variations and extraneous disturbances. However, the theory has not had wide spread acceptance in practical control engineering community due mainly to the worry of chattering which is inherently ever-existing in the variable structure system. This paper presents a novel type of fuzzy-sliding mode controller to alleviate the chattering problem. A sliding mode controller for robust robot control is firstly synthesized with an assumption that the imposed system uncertainties satisfy matching conditions so that certain deterministic performances can parameters and control rules are obtained from a relation between predetermined sliding surfaces and representative points in the error state space. A two degree-of-freedom robotic manipulator subjected to a variable payload and a torque disturbance is considered in order to demonstrate superior tracking performance accrued from the proposed methodology.

  • The power wheelchair is an important and convenient mobility device. The demand of power wheelchair is increasing for assistance in mobility. In this paper we proposed a robotic wheelchair for mobility aid to reduce the burden from the disabled. The main issue in an autonomous wheelchair is the automatic detection and avoidance of obstacles and going to the pre-designated place. The proposed algorithm detects the obstacles and avoids them to drive the wheelchair to the desired place safely with panning scan from sensors of distance measurement and fuzzy control. By this way, the disabled will not always have to worry about paying deep attention to the surroundings and his path.

  • This paper is to investigate how each cases(recurrent cases) is to be classified and what each parties should prepare to solve their cases by civil law system and so on. We could find the increased volume (or quantity) of transportation by air recently and have to worry about the sky-rocketed cases of unfulfilled navigation management(aviation service) proportionately inevitably. So we knew that some cases of disputes are solved by unreasonable demand, unilateral concession or irrational decision without any logical or legal criterion, because both sides(passenger and carrier) do not recognize the situation correctly and have any preparation for the legal settlement. Therefore we should prepare the classification work and comprehend about the legal effect(fulfillment retardation of duty, fulfillment impossibility of duty and imperfect fulfillment in our civil law system) of each cases. We can grasp the legal relationship with a carrier and a passengers by the legal analysis more efficiently and save (or help) energy and time of concerned parties.

  • Anxiety disorders Anxiety disorders are among the most prevalent mental disorders in the general population. Anxiety disorders can be viewed as a family of related but distinct mental disorders, which include following as classified in the text revision of fourth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Disorders(DSM-IV-TR): (1) panic disorder with or without agoraphobia; (2) agoraphobia with or without panic disorder; (3) specific phobia; (4) social phobia; (5) obsessive-compulsive disorder; (6) posttraumatic stress disorder; (7) acute stress disorder; (8) generalized anxiety disorder. An acute intense attack of anxiety accompanied by feeling of impending doom is known as panic disorder. The term phobia refer to an excessive fear of a specific object, circumstance, or situation. Obsessivecompulsive disorder is represented by a diverse group of symptoms that include intrusive thoughts, rituals, preoccupations, and compulsions. Posttraumatic stress disorder is a condition marked by development of symptoms after exposure to traumatic life events. Generalized anxiety disorder is defined as excessive anxiety and worry about several events or activities for most days during at least a 6-month period.

  • As Korea's global IT sourcing is sluggish and supply of qualified IT personnel does not meet the demand, IT developers currently do not worry about their job security. The sluggish global sourcing is attributed to the lack of system design and analysis skills as well as lack of communication skills of IT personnel. Most of big Korean IT service firms operate in captive market. This is also attributed to the cause of the sluggish global sourcing. Some IT managers, especially in global IT service firms, concerned about the negative long term effect of the sluggish global sourcing on competitiveness and human infra capability of Korea's IT service industry. Managers in IT service firms expect skill requirement changes in the future when global sourcing becomes active. The skills and knowledge that they wish to retain in-house is business knowledge, system analysis and design knowledge, customer relation management skills, project management skills and industry knowledge. The jobs with the above knowledge usually involve customers.

  • In these days, as it frequently happens that water level in the river exceeds the design floods due to irregular heavy rainfall, so it is required, first of an, to manage with railroad bridge safely. Because train control criterion under heavy rainfall is still not prepared and automatic flood monitoring system for railroad bridges is not used, worry over invisible economic loss due to train passage delay is in existence. Therefore, it is important to secure the safety and detect the risk like turnover or failure of railroad bridges through systematic disaster prevention system. And the transition from conventional monitoring method to real time monitoring method supported by sensors and communication system with high technology is rapidly needed. This research is on developing the real time flood monitoring system which prevents railroad disasters in advance by detecting continuously the water level of railroad bridge through CCD camera and water level gauge.
