The Wireless World Research Forum(WWRF) Towards Systems Beyond 3G

  • Third generation mobile radio systems (3G) are currently being deployed in different regions of the world. Future systems beyond 3G are already under discussion in international bodies and forums such as ITU, WWRF and R&D programs of the European Union and in other regions. These systems will determine the research and standardization activities in mobile and wireless communication in the next years. Based on the experience of 3G future systems will be developed mainly from the user perspective with respect to potential services and applications including traffic demands. Therefore, the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) was launched in 2001 as a global and open initiative of manufacturers, network operators, SMEs, R&D centers and the academic domain. WWRF is focused on the vision of such systems the Wireless World - and potential key technologies. This paper describes the international context of activities on systems beyond third generation, the goals, objectives and structure of WWRF, the user perspective as the starting point for a future system design and the key enabling technologies for the Wireless World.

세계화시대에 적실한 지역연구방법론 모색 -세계체제론적 지역지리학의 보완을 중심으로- (Developing a New Area Study Methodology Suitable to the Globalization Era : With Revision of the Regional Geography of World-Systems.)

  • 본 연구는 세계화시대에 적실한 지역연구방법론을 새롭게 모색하기 위하여, 지리학에서 개발된 다양한 지역연구방법론을 검토하고, 그 가운데 세계화 현상을 이론적으로 설명해주는 세계체제론에 기초한 세계체제론적 지역지리학의 내용을 자세히 살펴보았으며, 아울러 그것이 세계화시대에 보다 적실한 지역연구방법론이 될 수 있도록 그 문제점을 보완하여 수정된 세제체제론적 지역지리학을 제시하여 보았다. 수정된 세계체제론적 지역지리학에서는, 지역(역사지역)은 세제경제체제의 재생산적인 일반 메커니즘이 지역의 정치적, 경제적, 사회적 요소 또는 동인 이외에 위치적, 자연적, 문화적 요소와도 함께 작용하여 형성된다고 보았으며, 지역성은 경제적 특성에만 치중할 것이 아니라 공간적, 사회적, 문화적, 정치적 등의 특성도 분석하여 보다 종합적으로 규명될 필요가 있으며, 지역구분에서는 세계경제의 일반메커니즘에 의한 경제적 경계와 함께 정치적 경계도 동시에 고려할 필요가 있으며, 아울러 국가단위지역도 중요한 연구대상 지역으로 다루어져야 한다고 수정 제안하였다.

Towards Open Interfaces of Smart IoT Cloud Services

  • With the vision of Internet of Things (IoT), physical world itself is becoming a connected information system on the Internet and cyber world is computing as a physical act to sense and respond to real-world events collaboratively. The systems that tightly interlink the cyber and physical worlds are often referred to as Smart Systems or Cyber-Physical Systems. Smart IoT Clouds aim to provide a cyber-physical infrastructure for utility (pay-as-you-go) computing to easily and rapidly build, modify and provision auto-scale smart systems that continuously monitor and collect data about real-world events and automatically control their environment. Developing specifications for service interoperability is critical to enable to achieve this vision. In this paper, we bring an issue to extend Open Cloud Computing Interface for uniform, interoperable interfaces for Smart IoT Cloud Services to access services and build a smart system through orchestrating the cloud services.

  • Payment systems are evolving, and this study examines how blockchain and AI improve online transactional security and service quality. The study examines micro and macro payment systems, compares online, and offline methods all over the world. The study also examines how blockchain and AI affect payment system security, privacy, and efficiency globally and rapidly digitizing economy. Digital payment methods are growing all over the world with high literacy and digital engagement, but they face challenges. The research highlights cybersecurity threats and the need to balance user convenience and security. It suggests blockchain and AI improve online payment services, supporting the policies for different countries. In this extensive research survey, we compare and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various payment systems, their practicality, and their robustness. This study also examines how technological innovations and payment systems interact to reveal how blockchain and AI could transform the financial sector. It seeks to understand how technology-enhancing service quality can boost customer satisfaction and financial stability in the digital age. The findings should help policymakers, financial institutions, and technology developers optimize online payment systems for a more secure and efficient digital economy.

Instrumentation on structural health monitoring systems to real world structures

  • Instrumentation on structural health monitoring system imposes critical issues for applying the structural monitoring system to real world structures, for which not only on the configuration and geometry, but also aesthetics on the system to be monitored should be considered. To illustrate this point, two real world structural health monitoring systems, the structural health monitoring system of Shenzhen Vanke Center and the structural health monitoring system of Shenzhen Bay Stadium in China, are presented in the paper. The instrumentation on structural health monitoring systems of real world structures is addressed by providing the description of the structure, the purpose of the structural health monitoring system implementation, as well as details of the system integration including the installations on the sensors and acquisition equipment and so on. In addition, an intelligent algorithm on stress identification using measurements from multi-region is presented in the paper. The stress identification method is deployed using the fuzzy pattern recognition and Dempster-Shafer evidence theory, where the measurements of limited strain sensors arranged on structure are the input data of the method. As results, at the critical parts of the structure, the stress distribution evaluated from the measurements has shown close correlation to the numerical simulation results on the steel roof of the Beijing National Aquatics Center in China. The research work in this paper can provide a reference for the design and implementation of both real world structural health monitoring systems and intelligent algorithm to identify stress distribution effectively.

  • 세계화, 정보화, 개방화 등으로 대변되는 오늘날의 불확실하고 변화 무방한 경영환경은 규모나 업종에 관계없이 모든 기업들로 하여금 과거와는 다른 경쟁무기를 강구할 것을 강요하고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 발맞추어 기업들은 인터넷, 특히 World Wide Web (WWW)의 활용에 지대한 관심을 기울이고 있다. 기업들이 WWW의 활용에 관심을 기울이는 목적은 여러 가지가 있을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기업들의 이러한 활동을 분석해 보기 위하여 미국의 대기업, 미국이외 지역의 대기업, 그리고 대형 Website들에 있어서 7가지 마케팅 활동을 위한 WWW의 활용도에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면, 미국의 대기업과 미국이외 지역의 대기업은 주로 기업의 홍보(Public Relation)에, 대형 Website들은 주로 사용자들의 site 방문을 장려(Encouragement)하는데 WWW을 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 본 연구는 미국의 대기업들은 대화형 안내책자 (Interactive Brochure)에도 WWW을 적극 활용하고 있으며, 대형 Website들과 미국이외 지역의 대기업들은 직접판매와 고객화 (Direct Sales and Customization)를 위한 WWW의 활용측면에서 상당히 다른 형태를 보여주고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

  • Thermodynamic principles are described with a new point of view. In present study, the interaction between two systems is focused instead of the behavior of a system in conventional thermodynamics. The state change of a system cannot occur by itself but it is the result of the interaction between systems. However, the interaction itself is also the result of another kind of interaction, the interaction between two interactions. To reconstruct thermodynamics with such a point of view, the reversible world is imagined, in which conservations and measurements are discussed. There exists a conserved quantity for each mode of reversible interaction. The conserved transferring quantity in the interaction between interactions is the effective work, which is supposed to be measurable and conserved in reversible world. Effective work is the primary concepts of energy. It is the key factor to explain measurements, energy conservation and energy dissipation. The concepts developed in reversible world are applied to the real world in which irreversible phenomena may occur. Irreversibility is the result of effective energy dissipation, in which effective work irreversibly changes into entropy. A quantitative relation between the disappearing effective work and the generated entropy is dissipation equation which is given by experiments. A special temperature scale to give a very simple type of the dissipation equation is the absolute temperature scale, which gives the conventional conservation of energy.

항공기 결함과 사고예측시스템 개발 (A Study on Systems Development for Preventing Aviation Deficiency and Accident)

  • There are still occurring aviation accidents in spite of great preventing efforts all over the world. This paper contains some methods to prevent aircrafts deficiencies and accidents. First part of this paper refers to the background of those aviation deficiencies on mechanical, human and environment structures which influence directly to the air accidents and general survey on various theories of the aircraft's systems. On the way we discussed the general situations of the air tool's deficiencies which cause tragic accidents to the human lives and assets. After analysis on the situations we suggest the new systems which would forecast more detail accuracies concerned air elements for the safety flying. Then we introduce the following new systems resulting from the forecasting which can solve problems on aircraft deficiencies and complex interrelationships among air accidental factors. To simplify the complex systems, we needed to build the mechanical and organizational database for maintaining the procedures of the past troubleshooting on the major parts preventing deficiencies of those mechanical units. These suggested systems will contribute a great deal of aids, the maintenance credibility and air safety for the air operations and all customers in the world. Avoiding the past troubleshooting from just by using simple systems which can forecast main causes of the units and parts of the crafts, this system will be able to provide excellent management tools for the promoting aviational industries. The comfortable and convenient air operations are very valuable works, and the scientific method and detail maintenance will improve our daily air life by minimizing accidents. Adapting these developing systems, for the forecasting aircraft deficiencies and accidents can be integrated with the other aircraft management systems to promote more air safety in the world. This study is focused to eliminating aircraft accidents through forecasting deficiency symptom procedures by relational coordinations among all of the systems. Futhermore we need continuously detailed analysis and study for eliminating air accidents all together those who work in those fields.

Application of Advanced Impact Analysis in Developing Iran's Gas Industry Scenarios

  • According to most of energy sector experts, at least in the next two decades, fossil energy plays important role in fulfilling required energy in the world. Based on these conditions, the investigation of the conditions of major countries providing natural gas in the world can be useful in analysis of future development of this clean fuel. According to the latest estimations of British Petroleum Company, Iran with 18.2% natural gas reservoirs has the first natural gas reservoirs in the world. The main purpose of this paper is developing scenarios of gas industry in Iran. To achieve the mentioned goals, besides investigation of existing methods of scenario design and existing production scenarios, natural gas export and consumption in Iran and the world in 2035, the most important scenarios of gas industry in Iran are formulated by critical uncertainty analysis approach using quantitative advanced time based impact analysis in 2035 horizon.
