The mining industry of Japan had rapidly grown after the World War II with the economic growth. There existed more than 350 mines all over Japan in the 1960’s. The mines however had been closed one after another under the influence of the world and domestic economic events such as the mining-related pollution in Japan after the middle of the 60’s, the Oil Crisises in 73 and 79 and the Strong Yen in 85 (Fig. 1). The following paper deals with the interaction between an Austrian art trend from the late 19th century until World War I, the Vienna Separatist Movement, and the Vienna Workshop dress and its ornaments in part designed by the artists belonging to the former mentioned school. Gustav Klimt′s paintings along with his photographs and pictures and articles published in the "Wiener Mode" magazine were subject of analysis. The focus was on Klimt′s paintings with female themes whereby a comparative analysis was made between the development of the forms, hues and ornaments of clothing and the style of paintings at that time. The whole development was classified into three phases. The first period from 1897∼1905 marks the birth of the Vienna Separatists along with the clothing reform movement. The heyday of the Separatists represents the second phase from 1906∼1913 and the decline of the very school and the Vienna Workshop period lasts from 1913∼1918. Refromed dresses were started to be recognized as alternatives, from 1897 when the Separatists started to gain foot until 1o05, and Kimt and Van de Velde published designs that were comfortable and elegant. From 1906 to 1913 the expressionism and Reform Mode of the Vienna artists started to flourish. But during the War the Separatist Movement, which triggered the modernazation of Vienna declined and instead the decorative art of Vienna Workshops started to develop. The asymmetric design of the dress, exotic patterns, shades of complementary colors and reformed clothing were frequently used by Kimt and other Separatists. This is an instance where fashion design directly influenced art and different branches can reflect the same aesthetic standards within the same time frame.

Since physical therapy was first introduced in Korea, it has been 50 years past and Korean physical therapy has made rapid progress. However, history or educational system of Korean physical therapy is still not known worldwide. Now, for Korean physical therapy to go beyond Asia and leap toward the world, endless studies, efforts and publicity are required. Korean physical therapy first began by missionaries dispatched from other countries like America and Canada with Korean War, which occurred in 1950. After the War, Korean Physical Therapy is developed very fast. Korean Physical Therapy Association was founded in October 1, 1965 and many physical therapist were discharged. Korea became a full member of World Confederation of Physical Therapy(WCPT) in 1974, and held the 2nd Asia Pacific Confederation of Physical Therapy assembly in 1984 and WCPT assembly in 2005. Today, in 2010, licensed physical therapists are about 35,000 and there are physical therapy departments in 74 universities, and 17 universities have master's or doctor's degree courses. And there are many academic journals(more than 10) related to physical therapy that are published. Many Korean physical therapists are working at various countries like America or Australia, and are acknowledged with excellent treatment technology and academic studies. This thesis aims to shed new light to the history and educational system reorganization of Korean physical therapy and introduce it to the world, and establish the historical foundation to develop Korean physical therapy into the international level.
The $76^{th}$ National Treasure is consisted of seven volumes of Nanjung Ilgi (War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin; each titled by the author based on the zodiac name of the year covered, i.e. Imjin Ilgi, Gyesa Ilgi, Gabo Ilgi, Byeongsin Ilgi, Jeongyu Ilgi, Sok Jeongyu Ilgi, Musul Ilgi), Seogancheob (Letters of Admiral Yi) and Imjin Jangcho (Drafts of Imjin War Reports of Admiral Yi). These are currently in the custody of Hyeonchungsa shrine, the state-managed memorial shrine of Admiral Yi, and has been added to UNESCO's Memory of the World Register in June 2013 in the appreciation of its historical and academic importance as a commander's hand-written battlefield accounts during Japanese invasions of Korea. Imjin Jangcho, among these nine volumes, is a record of battles, including observations on the enemy fleets, suggestions on naval matters, battle expenditure, and methods of battle preparation, transcribed by someone else according to Admiral Yi's instructions. It is Admiral Yi's honest detailobservations on the war situation during Japanese invasions of Korea from 1592 as a Naval Commander of Left Jeolla Province, till 1594 (Year 27 of King Seonjo's reign) as a Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of the South. It is a draft of the war report to be submitted to the King in a single volume as a folio (each sheet folded once to produce one leaf) bound in a side-stitched binding with five holes and inner binding of twisted paper. This study explores the condition and the treatment performed on Imjin Jangcho which could have an implication for the conservation of cultural assets on paper of late Joseon Dynasty.
This study sought to reveal the architectural characteristics of Quonset church built in the Archdiocese of Gwangju, and the conclusions are as follows. The Quonset structure, which was used as a military barracks during World War II and was designed to be easily assembled and disassembled quickly, was used in Damyang, Hwasun, and Gokseong churchs. They were all built in 1958, after the Korean War, and can be related to the historical background of the rapid increase in the number of Catholics. They are utility buildings that can accommodate many believers, that is, large quonsets measuring 40 feet (width) x 100 feet (length). The floor plan was largely divided into two spaces, with about 3/4 reserved for the nave and altar, and the remaining 1/4, or 24 to 30 feet, used as a sacristy or confessional. The cross-section is a semicircle with a radius of 20 feet, framed by 6-inch ribs, and its unique structure, in which bricks are stacked on the outside to form the exterior, makes it different from a typical brick church. Unlike other stone churches built around the same time, Quonset church was not expanded. This may be due to the difficulty in supplying special materials such as the ribs that make up the frame, as well as the absence of relevant experts.
Purpose: This paper was to review the concept of rehabilitation sports for the disabled. Method: This paper was reviewed related papers published by KODDI(Korea Disabled People's Development Institute) concerning rehabilitation sports. Result: Rehabilitation sports that is integration of rehabilitation therapy and sports, was introduced in the U.K. during the World War I for the people wounded in the war. Since then, it was introduced into Germany for the wounded and disabled, and institutionalized in public health insurance program since 1960s. The present day, rehabilitation sports in Germany has been affected on promotion of physical, psychological, and social function and is being considered an importance field of sports and rehabilitation therapy for the disabled. Now, in our country, research is being carried out to introduce rehabilitation sports for the people with disabilities.
It is very signigicant to study a dominant drift of the contemporary formative art. And it's research not only gives us a great pleasure of study but also will be a big help for designers to study how the dominant drift of the contemporary art has developed thereafter, and what it has influenced upon the following formative movement of it. In this sense I think I cannot emphasize it too strong that I gave a subtitle 'Especially analyzed in War and Peace' do my paper because we can find a real aspect of the formative movement rather by sociological point of view than by formative art itself. In this sense, 1 selected Art Deoo as a thesis of research among other things because Art Deco developed socially in respond to general pressure to adapt to modem World, specially, was a stage in an already burgeoning revolution in the decorative arts. Through this sociological point of view on Art Deco I found lots of things worthwhile to research it Art Deco, which I think shows us a special aspect of the sandwich culture between both world wars in Europe, played the important role of a bridge likning its peculiar style with those of contemporary arts in Europe. In this paper the sociological research of Art Deco style will reveal what the European's emotions meant in the socio-psychological circumstances of Deco between both world wars, and where the peculiarity of Art Deco style came from, and especially why the colors of Art Deco was so gorgeous as called 'color for color's sake'. I tried to put the importance of research of Art Deco largely on the sociological or socio-psychological points of view not on the only formative viewpoints. I could draw a conclusion that Art Deco has a contradictive duplicity in its style that can be expressible in a word like 'naivety in gorgeousness, simplicity in complexity, orderliness in confusion, and peacefulness in noisiness'.
This paper aims to illuminate the role of serial context among industry, academia and government, taking much care of the role of society and community in the sustainable regional planning and practice. This paper is composed of five chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects. In In chapter 1, we give the little long introduction of the time of mutation and significance of locus that explains the conceptual background and framework of this paper. In chapter 2, we elaborate on the mutation and metamorphosis of structural, social, and natural changes in the world and especially Japan. In chapter 3 and chapter 4, the main chapters of this paper, we describe the evolution of academic town in megalopolis, the revitalization of technopolis, and the creative local culture of the World Heritage for the regional renaissance in Japan. In chaper 5, we conclude this paper. As for this illumination, we should pay more due regards to the locus, orbit and iconography of region to develop better hosting environment and habitat for global innovation of industry-academia-government collaboration's serial contexts through sustainable tourism and tourism sustainability. Especially, at the time of natural and social mutation, we could not look over the heavy and sudden natural unexpected changes, the deep structural social and community changes in Japan, and war and terrorism in Asia on the global scene for sustainable rejuvenation.
This study examines how international song festivals shaped Korean musicians' sense of the world in the 1970s and early 1980s. After the Korean composer, Yi Pongjo, won a top-10 prize at the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in 1970, an astonishing number of Korean musicians participated in international song festivals held in Japan. Meanwhile, Korean broadcasting companies strengthened their cooperative relationship with Japanese television stations and initiated their own international song festivals in the late 1970s: Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)'s Seoul International Song Festival in 1978 and Tongyang Broadcasting Corporation (TBC)'s World Song Festival in 1979. During the first two years of its festival, MBC organized its song contest by collaborating with television stations in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and the ASEAN countries. However, the World Song Festival was more critically acclaimed because TBC invited renowned musicians from America and European countries, including Yugoslavia, in collaboration with the International Federation of Festival Organizations (FIDOF). Thus, from 1980, FIDOF helped MBC attract composers and singers from Europe and America to their Seoul International Song Festival. This paper sheds light on connections within the popular music arena between South Korea and the outside world during the Cold War-a subject that has been poorly examined.
Since its establishment in 1948, World Health Organization (WHO) has tried and facilitated international cooperation of public health under the goal of "the highest attainable health," and gained outcomes like the eradication of smallpox and polio, turning itself into the representative of international public health. However, there was discord between member nations during the cold war era, and the status of WHO experienced rise and fall after its establishment. WHO, the representative international health organization, also has not been freed from influences from international regime changes, which means that the discussion on the internal causes of WHO functionings should be expanded more. In this study, functionalism was tested as one of international relations theory that tries to explain the establishment and role of WHO. Especially, this study analyzed the problems and problem-solving process that WHO had to face by using Imber's five steps theory that arranged chronologically the theory of Mitrany. We mainly investigated the secondary source that described historic facts on the rise and fall of WHO in terms of roles and functionings during establishment of WHO, the cold war era, and international cooperation of public health. The roles of WHO were analyzed by selecting the gains of WHO in the post cold war era. The functionalism arrangement of Imber was appropriate to some extent in explaining the establishment and role of WHO. The first step was International Sanitary Conference in 1851 that made nations to recognize international cooperation of public health, and the second step was the establishment of WHO that handles public health as an international organization. Recent cases of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and International Health Regulations showed that each nation agreed with an international norm that they had to cooperate each other to tackle infectious diseases and smoking, and this implies that these were emergence of global governance. This process was the third step of Imber's theory (nations had a gain from international cooperation would agree with the expansion of authority of international organization). However, the last two steps of the theory are still not realized. The partial success of WHO was based on the functional elements that WHO deals with non-political elements, human resources centering on professionals, and democratic decision making process. This essential and non-political characteristics mean that necessity of international cooperation catalyzed by WHO would continue despite of the global governance era when global health governance get faced more challenges.
