Organizational Member Attitudes According to Workplace Type of Dental Hygienist

  • Background: This study aimed to investigate whether there is a difference in organizational member attitudes by workplace environment and workplace types in dental hygienists working at dental health centers. Methods: A face-to-face survey or online survey was administered to dental hygienists working at dental health centers, and a total of 95 subjects were included. The survey includes 13 items to ask factors affecting employee's job satisfaction. Also, some questions were included to assess perception of organizational member attitude: five about organizational citizenship behavior, two about innovative behavior, and four about organizational commitment. Results: Dental hygienists working at dental clinics were more satisfied with their incomes and numbers of working days, while those from dental university hospitals and general hospitals were more satisfied with education support. In addition, hygienists working at dental hospitals were more satisfied with job autonomy, individual work capability, safe working environment, personal relation, potential for personal development, and positive labor-management relations, compared to those working at general and university hospitals (p<0.05). Among the items about perception of organizational member attitudes, the scores of items about organizational citizenship behaviors were higher, whereas the scores of items about innovative behaviors were relatively lower. Individuals working at dental hospitals than those working at general and university hospitals, chiefs and team and department leaders than team members, and those with increased satisfaction with current workplace had more positive perception of organizational member attitudes. Conclusion: For dental hygienists to have positive attitudes as organizational members, working environment should be improved, and executives of dental healthcare centers should pay attention to improving job satisfaction of organizational members. Moreover, since dental hygienists need to improve their perception of innovative behaviors and citizenship behaviors to strengthen specialty of dental hygienists in a changing dental healthcare, relevant training should be addressed in refresher courses or school programs.

직장 유연성이 종업원의 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Workplace Flexibility on Employees' Organizational Commitment)

  • 코로나19팬데믹을 기점으로 근무방식의 전면적인 변화와 직장 유연성에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 종업원들이 근무장소와 근무시간을 유연하게 사용할 수 있는 다양한 근무제도에 대한 연구가 많은 반면 보다 넒은 의미에서의 직장 유연성에 대한 연구는 중요성에 비해 부족한 편이다. 이러한 문제인식하에 본 연구는 정보통신 서비스 산업과 제조 산업의 외국계 기업과 국내 상위 50개 대기업에 근무하는 종업원 300명을 대상으로 직장 유연성이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석해 보고자 했다. 직장 유연성을 양적 직장 유연성과 질적 직장 유연성으로 구분하여 연구 변수를 설정하였다. 실증 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 양적 직장 유연성의 유형 중 근무 장소, 근무 연속성과 질적 직장 유연성을 의미하는 업무 자율성과 팀워크의 경우 조직몰입에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 양적 직장 유연성 유형 중 근무 시간의 경우 조직몰입에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 질적 직장 유연성이 양적 직장 유연성에 비해 조직 몰입도 미치는 영향이 강하다는 것을 확인했다. 이러한 연구 결과는 학술적으로는 직장 유연성을 양적인 측면과 질적인 측면을 동시에 고려했다는 점이다. 실무적으로는 질적 직장 유연성 확보를 위해 업무 자율성과 팀워크를 제고할 수 있는 다양한 영역에서 종업원간의 열린 의사소통 및 협업을 촉진할 필요가 있을 것이다. 또한 서로 피드백을 주고받을 수 있는 커뮤니케이션을 촉진하는 조직 분위기 및 업무 환경 조성의 필요성을 제시했다.

어린이집의 교사전문성 지원환경이 초임교사의 전문성 인식에 미치는 영향: 직무수행동기의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effects of a Professional Learning Environment at a Day Care Center on the Professionalism of Beginning Teachers: Focusing on the Mediating Role of Their Work Task Motivation)

  • Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of a teacher professional learning environment at workplace day care centers on the professionalism of beginning teachers and also to verify the mediating effects of the beginning teachers'work task motivation on that relationship. Methods: The participants were 129 new teachers currently employed at workplace day care centers. The Current Status for Professional Competence was used to measure the teachers' professionalism. The Professional Learning Environment Inventory assesses the professional learning environment of day care centers. To measure the work task motivation, the Work Tasks Motivation Scale for Teachers was used. Results: Firstly, positive relationships were identified between a professional learning environment and their intrinsic motivation and identified motivation. However, there were also negative relationships between the professional learning environment and their introjected motivation and amotivation. Secondly, this study partially verified the mediating effects of the beginning teachers'work task motivation on the relationship between the professional learning environment and teachers' professionalism. Conclusion/Implications: The relationship between the professional learning environment and the professionalism of beginning teachers was mediated by the teachers'own intrinsic motivations, identified motivations, and amotivation.

실내건축 종사자의 직무환경 및 직무만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Job Environment and Satisfaction of Interior Construction Workers)

  • It is the purpose of the this study to use preliminary data to improve job environment, after looking job satisfaction and environment of interior construction workers. The following were the method of study. First, Through the literature, concept and the main theory on job satisfaction are examined. And It draws elements affecting job environment and satisfaction of interior construction workers. Based on this, we analyze job environment and satisfaction, and find what the satisfaction level is low, after a survey of interior construction workers. According to the survey, the result of the job environment is poor that people are working a lot more than a standard 10-hour day, not paid for it and absence of the education system for future. The larger workplace was in poor job conditions. the result of the job satisfaction is higher in case of smaller workplace or workers with less than 1 year or more than 8 year. As job satisfaction for interior construction score 3.30, it showed relatively higher satisfaction than job environment and satisfaction elements.

조직 내 민주성이 사회적 자본의 형성에 미치는 영향: 서번트 리더십의 조절효과 (The Impact of Workplace Democracy on Social Capital: The Moderating Effect of Servant Leadership)

  • Purpose - Unlike in the past, individualistic thought is more dominant than groupism where members prioritize organizations. Such changes run counter to the direction of the survival of the companies, which calls for companies to explore strategies to address thems. As one of the solutions, many people highlights social capital. However, since most studies have been conducted on the definition and characteristics of social capital, there is not enough prior factor research on the formation of social capital. So the current situation require researches on the formation of social capital. Research design, data, and methodology - To achieve the purpose, the literature and the empirical studies were combined. Deriving workplace democracy and servant leadership as factors affecting the formation of social capital through the literature, and this factors have modeled assumptions about the impact on social capital, and have established hypotheses to verify them. The survey which is conducted to verify the hypothesis and questionnaires are derived base on the variables used in the previous studies. The survey was conducted 447 respondents in Korea. Results - As a result, we found that the workplace democracy is positively functioning with the formation of social capital. It means that the democracy functions as a universal element to enhance the quality of social capital at the workplace. The evidence also shows that the positive impacts of the servant leadership on the formation of social capital. And the survey shows that groups with high level servant leadership had a higher impact on the formation of social capital than those with low levels leadership. Conclusions - At present, the social capital has become an important factor for the companies pursuing high performance workplaces. We found that the workplace democracy and the servant leadership affect the formation of social capital. It means that to increase the employees' sense of community and solidarity, it is need to form democratic environment with the servant leadership. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the workplace democracy and the servant leadership can present strategic implications that can increase the social capital.

  • This study describes a real-time location monitoring system developed for efficient operation of workplace in plant equipment maker. This monitoring system can be applied for indoor and outdoor working environment respectively. By using the real-time tracking system based on RTLS, it is possible to track worker's movement and location of working object under indoor working environment. For outdoor working environment, the real-time monitoring system based on IDGPS is applied for work safety and balanced workload. A case study is provided to evaluate the performance of the real-time monitoring system.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis web sites which relate to housing environment on Internet and to suggest guidelines which are needed in digital life. Data are from key words in 53 web sites searched by housing environmental word such as people, living, town and so on. The results of this study were as follow: The web sites are divided into e-housing community, e-housing management, e-housing workplace and e-housing design. These are the digital life of new type. E-housing community sites make new wired community cross time and space. E -housing management sites provide the useful information of housing environment. E-housing workplace. sites enable us to work in cyberspace and e-housing design sites relate to consulting interior design. The web life style on Internet is common and makes many changes happen in house life and environment.

IoT기반의 미래 Workplace를 위한 사용자 경험 디자인 연구 (User Experience Design for future workplace based on IoT)

  • 사용자 중심의 디자인 패러다임 변화와 사용자 경험 디자인의 부상으로 특정 공간에서의 제품과 서비스에 대한 사용자 경험의 중요성도 증대되었다. 또한 IoT서비스의 등장과 함께 미래 업무환경의 새로운 변화가 예상된다. 본 연구는 미래 업무공간의 컨텍스트를 고려하여 새로운 사용자 경험 디자인을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우선 IoT의 개념과 본질에 대한 고찰을 통해 미래 업무환경에 영향을 줄 수 있는 다양한 요소들을 정의하고 각 요소들의 관계를 파악하였다. 다음으로 현재 업무환경에서의 사용자리서치를 통해 다양한 형태의 업무환경에서 사용자의 행태에 영향을 미치는 컨텍스트를 파악하고, 이를 통해 미래 업무환경에서의 새로운 사용자 경험의 가능성을 보여줄 수 있는 인사이트(insight)를 도출하였다. 그리고 위의 분석과 인사이트를 바탕으로 새로운 미래의 업무환경에 대한 다양한 컨텍스트모델을 구성하고, 그에 따른 UX모델링을 통해 구체적인 UX시나리오와 대안을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 UX디자인의 관점을 디바이스 중심에서 공간과 컨텍스트 중심으로 확장시킴으로써, UX디자인 연구의 다양성에 기여할 것이며 공간디자인 분야와 서비스디자인 분야와의 협력적 연구 및 IoT서비스 관련분야와의 학제적 연구에 기여할 것이다.

직장 내 따돌림이 민간경비원의 직무태도에 미치는 영향 (A Study On the Impact of Mobbing On Private Security Guards Job Attitude)

  • 본 연구에서는 민간경비원을 대상으로 직장 내 집단따돌림이 직무태도에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써 직장 내 집단따돌림에 의한 부정적인 영향을 최소화하는 방안을 강구하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적달성을 위한 분석결과를 논의하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 민간경비원의 직장 내 집단따돌림이 직무태도 중 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 인간관계 따돌림과 직무 따돌림 모두가 직무만족도에 부적(-) 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 인간관계 따돌림과 직무 따돌림이 증가할수록 직무만족도는 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 민간경비원의 직장 내 집단따돌림이 직무태도 중 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 인간관계 따돌림과 직무 따돌림 모두가 이직의도에 양적(+) 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었으며, 특히 인간관계 따돌림에 비해 직무관계에서 오는 따돌림이 이직의도에 더 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되어 기존의 선행연구와는 다소 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과와 같이 민간경비원의 직장 내 집단따돌림으로 인하여 민간경비원의 조직에 대한 직무만족도에 부정적인 반응이나 행동을 유발하게 되고 다른 직장으로 이직을 고려하게 된다. 따라서 민간경비원의 직무만족도를 높이는 동시에 이직의도를 감소시키는 것은 범죄의 위험성에 노출된 현대사회에서 매우 중요한 것이라고 할 수 있기 때문에 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 방안을 제시한다. 첫째, 직장 내 집단따돌림에 대한 직무만족도를 높이기 위해 민간경비원의 인적자원 효율성을 높이고, 긍정적인 조직분위기와 명확한 책임권한에 따른 실질적인 업무 부담으로 인한 업무의 모호성을 줄여야 될 것이다. 둘째, 부서 간 직무순환을 통한 인사교류를 실시하고 공통된 관심을 집중시킬 수 있는 목표를 설정하여 주기적인 만남을 통해 협력적 관계를 구축하는 동시에 따돌림으로 인한 피해자에 대한 심리적 카운셀링의 도입하여 민간경비원의 사후복지나 근무환경의 향상시킨다.

COVID -19: Protection of Workers at the Workplace in Singapore

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in movement restrictions being instituted globally and the cessation of work at many workplaces. However, during this period, essential services such as healthcare, law enforcement, and critical production and supply chain operations have been required to continue to function. In Singapore, measures were put in place to protect the workers from infection at the workplace, as well as to preserve the operational capability of the essential service in a COVID-19 pandemic environment. This paper critically analyses the measures that were implemented and discusses the extension to broader general industry.
