The Study on a Fixing-clip of a Shield Can Shielding Electromagnetic wave (전자파 차단을 위한 �Q드캔용 고정 클립 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes an structure that fixes the shielding device to two parts of the board by its two arranged clips. Said structure evenly distributes its loading/unloading load of the board and maintains the flatness of soldering area of the board. The structure of this study comprises a base part fixed to a printed circuit board and a clip part fixing a side wall of a shield can to the board, wherein the clip part is constituted with two clips fixable to two part of the shield can. Also, the structure of this study comprises a dented groove in order to easily solder the base part of clips and the printed circuit board. A mechanism is established and a design parameter was determined by a structure analysis and a vibration mode analysis. A single purpose machine for the production of the product was developed, the final workpiece was produced and the measuring-data and the computered-data was compared and reviewed.

Manufacture and performance test of the composite cantilever arm for electrical discharge wire cutting machine (방전 가공기용 복합재료 외팔보의 제작 및 성능평가)

  • Electrical discharge machining (EDM) cuts metal by discharging electric current across a thin gap between tool and workpiece. Electrical discharge wire cutting, a special form of EDM, uses a continuously moving conductive wire as an electrode, and is widely used for the manufacture of punches, dies and stripper plates. In the wire cutting process, the moving wire is usually supported by cantilever arm and wire guides. As the wire traveling speed has been increased in recent years to improve productivity, the vibration of the cantilever arm occurs, which reduces the positional accuracy of the machine. Therefore, the design and manufacture of the cantilever arm with high dynamic characteristics have become important as the machining speed increases. In this paper, the cantilever arm for guiding the moving wire was designed and manufactured using carbon fiber epoxy composite in order to improve the static and dynamic characteristics. Specimens for the composite cantilever arm were manufactured and tested to investigate the effect of the number of reinforcing plies and length fitted to steel flange on the load capacity. Also, the finite element analysis using layer and contact elements was performed to compare the calculated results with the experimental ones. From the results, the prototype of the composite cantilever arm for the electrical discharge wire cutting machine was manufactured and the static and dynamic characteristics were compared with those of the conventional steel cantilever arm.

Precision Grinding System for Micro Core-pin (마이크로 코어 핀 정밀 연삭 시스템)

  • In the injection molding process, a core that builds a space for a product is installed at the internal place in the mold and fabricated as the frame of the mold. In this make up, the fabricating partial form of the mold at a pin is a core pin. The core pin is finer because an injection mold produces miniaturization and integration. On the other hand, when the core is manufactured using the existing centerless grinder, it generates vibrations because of the lack of a fixed zig for a micro size workpiece. For this reason, an existing centerless grinder without a micron size fixed zig, makes a defective product due to vibration and deformation. In this study, a compact grinding system that can be installed using an existing centerless grinder was fabricated to make a micro size core pin. Using the compact grinding system, grinding experiment for core pin was carried out. The performance of the system was confirmed by measuring the surface roughness, roundness, and cylindricity.
