난임 여성들의 난임부부 시술비 지원사업에 대한 인식 (Infertile Women's Perception on the National Support Program for Infertile Couples)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the perception of infertile women on the use of the national support program that provides medical expense aid to infertile couples. Methods: Thirty Korean infertile women participated in five focus groups. Data were collected from January to August 2014. After obtaining permission from the participants, each session of the focus group was audio-taped and transcribed. The responses were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The main themes identified from the sessions with the participants were "feeling thankful for the reliable support program," "feeling happy or unhappy," "enduring inconveniences," and "hoping for a more comprehensive support service." Although most of the participants perceived the benefits of the national support service positively, they stated that the service was not comprehensive because it did not cover all the medical expenses for tests and other medical treatments. Conclusion: The benefits given to infertile couples by the program should be increased by covering all the medical expenses, expanding its criteria to include more eligible candidates, and by including special leave benefits for working women. Furthermore, it is essential to take measures for infertility prevention at the individual and national policy levels.

노년기 부부의 결혼적응과 정신건강간의 관계에서 성인자녀관계의 매개효과 : 자기상대방효과 상호의존모형 적용(APIM) (Mediating Effects of Adult-Child Relationship and the Association between Marital Adjustment and Mental Health of Elderly Couples : An Application of the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model)

  • The primary focus of the study assesses how individual spouses' and their partners' marital adjustment influence their own and their mental health. The study also examines whether this influence was mediated by the relationship with their adult-children. Data were collected from 271 dyads of elderly couples by using a self-report questionnaire. Marital adjustment was measured in terms of intimacy and comparison level of marriage. Mental health was measured in terms of depressive mood, anxiety, and somatization. The Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM) analysis revealed that marital adjustment was positively associated with one's own mental health and with one's own relationship with their adult-children, but not with their partner's. On the other hand, the relationship with adult-children was positively associated with one's own and with their partner's mental health. Furthermore, analysis of the mediating model using APIM indicated that marital adjustment through one's own adult-children relationship had direct and indirect effects on one's own mental health. It is interesting to note that the wives' mental health were directly influenced by their partners' relationship with adult-children. However, the effect of the husbands' mental health was not significant. These findings highlight dyadic interdependence among spouses' perceptions of marital and adult-children relationship with their mental health. The results suggest implications for educators and clinicians working with elderly couples to improve their psychological and relational health.

취업 주부의 취업선호 인식이 개인, 가족 직업생활에 미치는 영향 (The effects of the preferences to housewives' employment perceived by working wives on personal, family, & work life)

  • The purpose of this study were to understand the types of preferences to housewives' employment of husbands and wives, and to explore the differences in the personal, the family, and the job-related variables regarding such types of preferences. For this study, the employed housewives with children aged under 10 year were surveyed. The results of this study were as follow; 1) Types of perferences to housewives' employment of husbands were smaller compared to wives'. This may mean that husbands' traditional values related to child rearing and education, and housework influenced on their preferences to wives' employment. 2) There were significant differences in the types of preferences to housewives' employment regarding the types of wives' occupation. Wives working in the white color jobs were prefered themselves' employment more than wives working in the blue color jobs. 3) The group that both wives and husbands prefere housewives' employment was more positively perceived the effects of women's employment on both wives themselves and their children. Also such couples were satisfied more than and felt family-job strain less than other groups.

부부간 역할분담과 가사 및 자녀돌봄시간에 영향을 미치는 요인 -코로나19 팬데믹 이후 일본 자녀양육기 맞벌이 부부의 노동시간 및 통근시간 변화를 중심으로- (Factors Affecting Role Division between Husband and Wife and Housework and Childcare Time: Changes in the Work and Commute Times of Dual-Income Couples Engaging in Childrearing in Japan after the COVID-19 Pandemic)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 일본의 자녀양육기 가족에 초점을 맞추고 코로나19 팬데믹이라고 하는 가정 및 가족의 외부에서 일어나는 사건에 의한 노동시간 및 통근시간 등의 변화가 부부간 역할분담, 가사 및 자녀돌봄시간에 영향을 미치는지에 대해서 밝혀내는 것이다. 분석자료는 일본 내각부가 실시한 「제3회 코로나19 영향에 따른 생활의식·행동의 변화에 관한 조사. 2021」 데이터이다. 20세 이상이며 배우자와 동거하고 있고 18세 미만의 자녀가 한 명 이상이면서 남편과 부인이 모두 취업자인 총 983명을 분석대상자로 선정하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 부부간 역할분담은 남편의 역할이 증가하는 방향으로 변화하였음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 노동시간 및 통근시간의 감소는 남성의 역할분담을 증가시키는 방향으로 작용하고 있었다. 셋째, 가사 및 자녀돌봄시간은 부부간 역할분담보다 더욱 명확하게 남편과 부인의 노동시간 및 통근시간과 관계가 있음이 밝혀졌다. 결론적으로 여성의 노동시간 및 통근시간의 변화보다 남성의 노동시간 및 통근시간의 변화가 부부간 역할분담, 가사 및 자녀돌봄시간에 더 큰 영향을 미치고 있다는 결과를 얻어냈다. 노동시간 및 통근시간에 대한 심도있는 고찰을 위해서 후속연구에서는 노동시장 요인을 고려한 분석이 필요하다.

일-가족 시간배분에 따른 가구유형과 변화 - 퍼지셋 이상형 분석의 적용 - (Household Types and Changes of Work-Family Time Allocation - Adapting Fuzzy-set Ideal Type Analysis -)

  • 본 연구는 생활시간조사자료를 활용하여 가구 내에서 배분되는 일-가족시간에 대한 실증분석을 수행하였다. 부부의 유급노동시간과 가족시간에서 차지하는 남성의 비중을 근거로 일-가족 시간 배분을 4개의 모형(전통적 남성생계부양, 이중노동부담, 협조적 적응, 가족친화적 남성생계부양)으로 유형화하였으며, 퍼지셋이상형분석을 통해 각 유형에 소속되어 있는 정도를 점수화한 후, 각 모형의 소속점수에 대한 중다회귀분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 지난 10년간 이중노동부담의 비중이 감소하고 협조적 적응 유형이 증가한 것으로 나타나고 있으나, 여전히 전체적인 모형별 분포를 보면 전통적인 성분업에 고착된 구조를 보여주고 있었다. 4개의 시간배분 모형에 대한 회귀분석 결과 역시 각 모형별 분석의 유용성을 보여주었으며, 무엇보다 성분업 의식의 역할은 제한적인 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 향후 가족정책의 논의에 있어 가구내의 미시적 성분업 구조와 일-가족시간의 배분과 관련된 역동성을 좀 더 면밀히 파악할 필요가 있다는 점과, 방법론적 함의로 미시자료를 이용한 양적연구에서도 퍼지셋 활용이 방법론적 다양성을 제공해 줄 수 있다는 점을 논의하였다.

침적법과 전기화학법을 이용한 티타늄의 갈바닉 부식에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE GALVANIC CORROSION OF TITANIUM USING THE IMMERSION AND ELECTROCHEMICAL METHOD)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference of the galvanic corrosion behaviour of the titanium in contact with gold alloy, silva-palladium alloy, and nickel-chromium alloy using the immersion and electrochemical method. And the effects of galvallit couples between titanium and the dental alloys were assessed for their usefulness as materials for superstructure. The immersion method was performed by measuring the amount of metal elementsreleased by Inductivey coupled plasma emission spectroscopy(ICPES) The specimen of fifteen titanium plates, the five gold alloy, five silver-palladium, five nickel-chromium plates, and twenty acrylic resin plates ware fabricated, and also the specimen of sixty titanium plugs, the thirty gold alloy, thirty silver-palladium, and nickelc-hromium plugs were made. Thereafter, each plug of gold alloy, silver-palladium, and nickel-chromium inserted into the the titanium and acrylic resin plate, and also titanium plug inserted into the acrylic resin plate. The combination specimens uf galvanic couples immersed in 70m1 artificial saliva solution, and also specimens of four type alloy(that is, titanium, gold, silver-palladium and nickel-chromium alloy) plugs were immersed solely in 70m1 artificial sativa solution. The amount of metal elements released was observed during 21 weeks in the interval of each seven week. The electrochemical method was performed using computer-controlled potentiosta(Autostat 251. Sycopel Sicentific Ltd., U.K). The wax patterns(diameter 11.0mm, thickness,in 1.5mm) of four dental casting alloys were casted by centrifugal method and embedded in self-curing acrylic resin to be about $1.0cm^2$ of exposed surface area. Embedded specimens were polished with silicone carbide paper to #2,000, and ultrasonically cleaned. The working electrode is the specimen of four dental casting alloys, the reference electrode is a saturated calmel electrode(SCE) and the ounter electrode is made of platinum plate. In the artificial saliva solution, the potential scanning was carried out starting from-700mV(SCE) TO +1,000mV(SCE) and the scan rate was 75mV/min. Each polarization curve of alloy was recorded automatically on a logrithmic graphic paper by XY recorder. From the polarization curves of each galvanic couple, corrosion potential and corrosion rates, that is, corrosion density were compared and order of corrosion tendency was determined. From the experiments, the following results were obtained : 1. In the case of immersing titanium, gold alloy, silver-palladium alloy, and nickel-chromium alloysolely in the artificial saliva solution(group 1, 2, 3, and 4), the total amount of metal elements released was that group 4 was greater about 2, 3 times than group 3, and about 7.8 times than group 2. In the case of group 1, the amount of titanium released was not found after 8 week(p<0.001). 2. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with alloy(group 5, 6), the total amount of metal elements released of group 5 and 6 was less than that of group 7, 8, 9, and 10(p<0.05). 3. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with silver-palladium alloy(group 7, 8), the total amount of metal elements released of group 7 was greater about twice than that of group 5, and that of group 8 was about 14 times than that of group 6(p<0.05). 4. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with nickel-chromium alloy(group 9, 10), the total amount of metal elements released of group 9 and 10 was greater about 1.8-3.2 times than that of group 7 and 8, and was greater about 4.3~25 times than that of group 5 and 6(p<0.05). 5. In the effect of galvanic corrosion according to the difference of the area ratio of cathode and anode, the total amount of metal elements released was that group 5 was greater about 4 times than group 6, group 8 was greater about twice than group 7, and group 10 was greater about 1.5 times than group 9(p<0.05). 6. In the effect of galvanic corrosion according to the elasped time during 21 week in the interval of each 7 week, the amount of metal elements released was decreased markedly in the case of galvanic couples of the titanium in contact with gold alloy and silver-palladium alloy but the total amount of nickel and beryllium released was not decreased markedly in the case of galvanic couples of the titanium in contact with nickel-chromium alloy(p<0.05). 7. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with gold alloy, galvanic current was lower than any other galvanic couple. 8. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with nickel-chromium alloy, galvanic current was highest among other galvanic couples.

Use of work-related communication technology outside regular working hours and work-family conflict (work interference with family and family interference with work): results from the 6th Korean working conditions survey

  • Background: Recently, use of work-related communication technology-smartphones, tablets, and laptops-is increasing rapidly by development of technology with the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. Some studies have suggested that work-related communication technology has a significant link with work-family conflict (WFC) but these studies included only limited number of participants and lacked essential covariates. Therefore, this study analyzes this association using large representative data sample and selected waged workers who were married-couples with children. Methods: This study was conducted based on data from the 6th Korean Working Conditions Surveys (KWCS). A total of 17,426 waged workers having a marriage partner and one or more children were selected. Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine whether WFC was associated with communication technology use. The odds ratios (ORs) for WFC were stratified by sex and working hours. Results: In fully adjusted model, WFC was higher those who used communication technology outside regular working hours compared with those who did not use it (OR: 1.66; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.39-1.97). When stratified by sex and working hours, the effect was greater in women than in men (OR: 1.79; 95% CI: 1.42-2.26 vs. OR: 1.52; 95% CI: 1.17-1.97) and women who worked over 52 hours per week had the highest OR (3.40; 95% CI: 1.25-9.26). Conclusions: This study revealed that the work-related communication technology use outside regular working hours was associated with WFC. The association were greater among those having longer working hours and female workers. These results suggest that appropriate policy should be implemented to reduce working hours and right to disconnect after work, particularly in female workers.

준고령층 부부의 식사관련행위 (Having Meals Together? Stories of Couples of Pre-Retirement Age)

  • 이 연구는 남성들의 은퇴가 활발히 일어나는 연령층 부부들의 식사 및 관련 행위를 분석하고 있다. 이 연구는 가사노동을 다루어 온 많은 연구들과 중첩되는 측면이 있으나, 식사준비, 식사행위, 설거지 등의 개별항목을 끼니별로 접근함으로써 일상적인 삶의 구체적인 모습에 한걸음 더 다가가고 있다. 한편, 대부분의 기존연구와는 달리 개인의 특성과 함께 부부나 배우자의 특성을 함께 고려하여 분석을 시도하고 있다. 한국통계청이 실시한 2004년도 생활시간조사자료 중 40대 후반부터 60대 후반 사이의 기혼여성들과 그 배우자들의 식생활행위를 분석해 본 결과, 부부의 식사행위, 식사준비 및 설거지 양상 등은 무엇보다도 부부의 취업형태에 따라 큰 차이를 보인다. 부부의 취업형태를 중심으로 볼 때, 부부가 함께 식사하는 비율이 가장 낮은 것은 부인만 취업한 상태이다. 은퇴연령층에서 부인만 취업하고 있다는 것은 이들이 식당 등과 같은 서비스업에 종사할 가능성이 높으며, 이로 인해 부부가 함께 식사할 수 있는 기회가 적음을 의미한다. 한편, 부인만 식사준비 하는 비율은 부인만 취업한 경우가 다른 경우보다 낮게 나타난다. 그럼에도 불구하고 부인만 취업한 경우에도 부인만 식사를 준비하는 사례가 절반 정도에 이른다. 부인만 설거지를 하는 비율 또한 식사준비를 하는 비율의 패턴과 유사하다. 이 비율 또한 부인만 취업한 경우에 가장 낮지만, 상당 수준에 이른다. 이를 통해 볼 때 식사준비와 설거지를 하는 해당 연령층 부인들의 비율은 취업상태에 따라 분명한 차이를 보이지만 대체로 이들 행위들은 여성들의 몫으로 남겨져 있다. 이는 다시 가족 내 식사준비와 설거지 등과 같은 일상적인 삶의 행위가 가족내 성역할을 반영하고 있음을 보여준다.

Two Protagonists of "The Old Man and the Sea," Santiago and Manolin, Used as Metaphors for a Healthy Retirement Life of Husbands and Wives in Korean Society

  • In this paper, we examine the roles, mutual relationships, and guidelines for a healthy life as exemplified by the characters Santiago and Manolin in Ernest Hemingway's novel "The Old Man and the Sea" and use this content to compare the happy home life of elderly couples in Korea. Through a metaphorical exploration of the lives of elderly husbands and wives in Korean society, the study examines their significance as the core of the family, particularly during their senior years. Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea" portrays Santiago as a unique embodiment of virtue and humanity. As an elderly male fisherman, he symbolizes a profound connection with the sea, as well as qualities such as courage, patience, and unwavering passion. His story underscores the importance of pursuing new goals and maintaining hope even in old age. The relationship between Santiago and Manolin provides insights into the dynamics of elderly husbands and wives in their domestic lives. Manolin's unwavering support for Santiago and his understanding of Santiago's dreams exemplify the significance of mutual support and the establishment of common goals for elderly couples. These characters serve as exemplary models for understanding and supporting one another within a family setting. Within the context of family life, applying these exemplary models and relationship dynamics fosters mutual respect, collaboration, emotional expression, and effective communication. Supporting each other and working towards common goals can enhance the family atmosphere, resolve conflicts, and enrich domestic life. Furthermore, when elderly couples share common goals and enjoy activities together, they strengthen their bond and create a more fulfilling family life. These shared activities deepen the affection between elderly husbands and wives and contribute to a thriving household. Through the characters of Santiago and Manolin in "The Old Man and the Sea," we present in this study a deeper understanding of the values and roles within the domestic lives and affection of elderly husbands and wives. Mutual respect, collaboration, emotional expression, communication, mutual support, common goals, hope, and shared domestic activities all play pivotal roles in maintaining a healthy family life and establishing happiness and well-being within the family. We expect this study to offer valuable insights into the fields of family studies, elderly welfare, and sociology.

미혼 남녀의 향후 일.가정 양립 방안, 부부 성역할 태도, 저출산 문제에 대한 견해 간 관계 탐색 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Relationships among the Future Work-Family Compatibility, Gender Attitude of Couples, and Reasons for Low Birth Rate)

  • 본 연구는 한국보건사회연구원의 "2009년도 전국 결혼 및 출산 동향 조사" 패널자료를 활용하여 20~44세에 이르는 2,678명의 미혼 남녀(남 1,425명, 여 1,253명)가 생각하는 이상적인 일 가정 양립 방안, 성역할 태도 및 저출산 원인에 대한 견해 등을 성별 및 교육정도에 따라 알아보고 이들 사이의 관계를 탐색적으로 분석해 보았다. 이를 통해 향후 저출산 문제 해결을 위해 미혼 남녀들의 일 가정 양립을 어떻게 지원할 것이며, 이 과정에서 미혼 남녀의 성역할 태도가 어떻게 변화되어야 할 것인가를 유추해 보고자 했다. 연구결과를 정리하면, 첫째, 이상적인 일 가정 양립 방안은 미혼자의 성별에 따라 차이가 없었으나 교육정도에 따라서는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 드러났다. 둘째, 이상적인 일 가정 양립방안과 부부 성역할 태도 및 성별 간 관계에 있어서는 여성에 비해 남성이 '남성은 직장, 여성은 가사'를 더 찬성했으며, 전일제일 보다 시간제 일을 선호하는 미혼자들이 '남성은 직장, 여성은 가사' 방안에 대한 찬성이 높았다. '남편의 자녀 돌봄 능력'에 대해서는 여성이 남성보다 그리고 2자녀를 두고 전일제로 일하겠다는 미혼자가 1자녀를 두고 전일제로 일하겠다는 미혼자에 비해 높은 평가를 보였다. 셋째, 두 자녀 이상을 두고 전일제로 일하고자 하는 미혼 남녀가 저출산 문제를 가장 심각하게 받아들이고 있었다. 넷째, 저출산 이유로 가장 높은 동의를 보인 것은 '양육비와 교육비용'이었으며 다음으로 '주택마련의 어려움'과 '취업여성의 증가'였다. "취업여성의 증가"를 저출산의 원인으로 여기는 정도는 남성보다 여성이 높게 나타났으며, 무자녀로 전일제 일하는 것을 원하는 미혼자들에게서 이러한 성향이 두드러지게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 일 가정 양립방안과 성역할 태도에 대한 기본적인 이해를 높일 뿐만 아니라 저출산 문제에 대한 정책적 개입방향을 제시하고자 하였다.
