It was our working hypothesis that introduction of 11-keto groups to 12-oleanene/ursene series of triterpenoids should endow them with corticoid-like activities, since pharmacological actions of glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) are known to be caused by inhibition on $corticoid-{\delta}^4-reductase$. 11-Keto-triterpenoids derived artificially in these studies, such as 11, 19-diketo-18, 19-secoursolic acid methyl ester(I), $11-keto-{\beta}-boswellic$ acid derivatives (IIa-IIc), 11-Keto-presenegenin dimethyl ester (III), II-keto-oleanolic acid derivatives (IVa-IVd) and 11-keto-hederagenin (V) possess the fundamental functions of ${\alpha},\;{\beta}-unsaturated$ ketone on C-11 and hydroxyl group on C-3, as like GA (VI). Additionally, they involve the carboxyl groups on rings A (II, III), D (I, III, IV, V) and E (VI), and the hydroxyl groups on rings A (III, V) and C (III). All the compounds competitively inhibited $corticoid-5{\beta}-reductase$, and the highest inhibitory potency appeared in I. All of them except $3,\;11-diketo-{\beta}-boswellic$ acid methyl ester (IIc) were more effective about five times to twice than GA. On carrageenin-induced edema test, compounds I and IVa-IVd showed anti-inflammatory activities, but III enhanced rather edema. Structure-activity relations were found in the aspects of hydrophilicity of ring A and hydrophobicity of rings C/D. The more they were hydrophilic in ring A and hydrophobic in rings C/D, the more they inhibited the enzyme. And the more they were hydrophobic in rings C/D, the more they exhibited antiiflammatory activities. However, the increased hydrophilicity in ring A resulted in increasing edema, probably due to a nonspecific inhibition on $aldosterone-5{\beta}-reductase$.

Objectives: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the accuracy of working length (WL) determination of four electronic apex locators (EALs), namely, Root ZX (RZX), Elements diagnostic unit and apex locator (ELE), SybronEndo Mini Apex locator (MINI) and Propex pixi (PIXI) using Stainless steel (SS) and nickel-titanium (NiTi) hand files. The null hypothesis was that there was no difference between canal length determination by SS and NiTi files of 4 EALs. Materials and Methods: Sixty extracted, single rooted human teeth were decoronated and the canal orifice flared. The actual length (AL) was assessed visually, and the teeth were embedded in an alginate model. The electronic length (EL) measurements were recorded with all four EALs using SS and NiTi files at '0.5' reading on display. The differences between the AL and EL were compared. Results: The results obtained with each EAL with SS and NiTi files were compared with AL. A paired sample t test showed that there was a statistical significant difference between EAL readings with SS and NiTi files for RZX and MINI (p < 0.05). The accuracy of RZX, ELE, MINI and PIXI within ${\pm}0.5 mm$ of AL with SS/NiTi files were 93.3%/70%, 90%/91.7%, 95%/68.3%, and 83.3%/83.3%, respectively. Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that Root ZX was statistically more accurate with NiTi files compared to SS files, while MINI was statistically more accurate with SS files compared to NiTi files. ELE and PIXI were not affected by the alloy type of the file used to determine WL.
As the environment related to hospital operation has changed very competitively in recent years, a need to reform the hospital management is ever growing. For that reason, it has become more urgent and strategically important for us to diagnose the organizational culture of the hospitals and to make efforts to change them towards more performance- and customers-oriented one. So far, there have been many studies done on the hospital organizations. However, this research distinctively attempts to base itself on the competing values approach in studying the organizational culture and empirically examine how different profiles of the organizational culture may have an impact on the organizational performances in hospital organizations. The results of this study has showed several interesting findings and posed the discussions to be dealt with. First, most hospitals selected for this research are characterized by the inner-oriented culture with more focused on 'hierarchy' and 'relationship-oriented' culture rather than on 'reform' and 'work-oriented' one. And the strong 'hierarchy-oriented' culture is a very general phenomenon in the sample hospitals. From these findings, we can inference that despite the recent efforts of most Korean hospitals for organizational change and innovation they still have long distance way to go. In addition, another important implications of this research has come from the analysis of the relationships between the cultural profiles and organizational performances. For this purpose, this research has conducted a series of cluster analysis and identified four distinct cultural profiles from the sample organizations. Several major findings are as follows. First, with respect to the dependent variable of 'job satisfaction' perceived by the nurses working in the sample hospitals, we found that the balance of competing organizational values had more positive impact on the job satisfaction. This result confirms the hypothesis of competing values model on the organizational performances. However, such result was not replicated on the other dependent variable, 'patients' satisfaction'. The reasons for these results and other discussions including the limitations of this study are suggested.

The fleet crew of Korea Coast Guard(KCG) have a wide range of roles to perform. It is already recognized that they carry dutie in inferior working conditions. Therefore, a research on leadership that concerns organizational effectiveness seemed necessary for them. This study examines whether transformational leadership style is appropriate in job satisfaction for the fleet crew of KCG. This study also proves the effect of a leadership style on job satisfaction by suggesting a hypothesis from preceding studies. In this study transformational leadership is fixed as independent variables and job satisfaction as dependent variables and six factors as demographic characteristics. It is found that Intellectual stimulation is the most influential factor, but individualized consideration is an uninfluential factor concerning job satisfaction.
The purpose of this study was to retire attitude of journalists verify the mediating effect of impact and satisfaction of life in old age, and prepare, perform and enhance the retirement attitudes of journalists to suggest journalists welfare policies and practices preparing for retirement. Surveyed a total of 233 additional analysis was used to journalists working in Gwangju, Jeonnam media. We used the SPSS 18.0 and 20.0 AMOS program to derive a result, a factor analysis was performed with reliability test for the variables, the model was subjected to structure analysis for the hypothesis testing. The results were the retirement attitudes of journalists had a significant impact on satisfaction with life in retirement preparation, retirement preparation had significant influence on life satisfaction. In addition, the journalists were retired through the mediating effect of attitudes that are ready to maximize retirement life satisfaction. Based on such findings, we propose a practical. Policy implications that can enhance the retirement attitudes and preparation for retirement journalists.

Without a definitive resolution of stoichiometry of cardiac Na$^{+}$-Ca$^{2+}$exchange (NCX), we cannot proceed to any quantitative analysis of exchange function as well as cardiac excitation-contraction coupling. The stoichiometry of cardiac NCX, however, is presently in doubt because reversal potentials determined by various groups range between those expected for a 3-to-1 and a 4-to-1 flux coupling. For a new perspective on this problem, we have used ion-selective microelectrodes to quantify directly exchanger-mediated fluxes of $Ca^{2+}$and Na$^{+}$in giant membrane patches. $Ca^{2+}$- and Na$^{+}$-selective microelectrodes, fabricated from quartz capillaries, are placed inside of the patch pipettes to detect extracellular ion transients associated with exchange activity. Ion changes are monitored at various distances from the membrane, and the absolute ion fluxes through NCX are determined via simulations of ion diffusion and compared with standard ion fluxes (Ca$^{2+}$ fluxes mediated by $Ca^{2+}$ ionophore, and Na$^{+}$ fluxes through gramicidin channels and Na$^{+}$/K$^{+}$pumps). Both guinea pig myocytes and NCX1-expressing BHK cells were employed, and for both systems the calculated stoichiometries for inward and outward exchange currents range between 3.2- and 3.4-to-1. The coupling ratios do not change significantly when currents are varied by changing cytoplasmic [Ca$^{2+}$] or by adding cytoplasmic Na$^{+}$. The exchanger reversal potentials, measured in both systems under several ionic conditions, range from 3.1- to 3.3-to-1. Taken together, a clear discrepancy from a NCX stoichiometry of 3-to-1 was obtained. Further definitive experiments are required to acquire a fixed number, and the present working hypothesis is that NCX current has an extra current via ‘conduction mode’.ent via ‘conduction mode’.
We have applied Pb2+ to the structural analysis of 5S rRNA from Pseudomonas alcaligenes. The mode of Pb2+-induced clevage on 5S rRNA has shown several specific features which may be utilized for the examination of tertiary structure of 5S rRNA: Pb2+ does not attack the stable helical stems; single stranded regions or bulges are attacked in variable susceptibilities depending on the positions of the sequences or the bases on the molecule; unstable helical region d is not attacked at all; only 3' sided strand of unstable helical stem C is weakly attacked, leaving 5' sided strand unattacked. Based on the Pb2+ cleavage properties and the structural analysis of Xanthomonas celebensis 5S rRNA, we have proposed a working hypothesis for the tertiary interactions in 5S rRNA.
For the study on occurrence of backache related to types of daily activities in adulthood Nine hundred twenty six adults living in Seoul were randomly selected as subjects from the eight kinds of occupation; housewives, teachers, nurses, officers, physicians, labourers, beauticians & barbers, and students. The purpose of this study was to identify various factors related to backache in daily activities and to apply these factors in clinical situations as well as in the community situations. This survey was conducted from September 21 through October 8, 1976. Under the ten hypothesis designed for this study, the. followings were obtained; 1. Significant difference on occurrence of backache was revealed according to sex difference at 0.5% level. (x$^2$= 27.85, df: 1, p<0.005) 2. Significant difference on occurrence of backache was revealed according to age groups at 2.5% level. (x$^2$= 11.13, df= 3, p<0.025) 3. Significant difference on occurrence of backache was revealed according to types of occupation at 2.5% level. (x$^2$= 18.04, df: 7, p<0.025) 4. Significant difference on occurrence of backache was revealed according to types of movement originated by hand during occupational activities at 1% level. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of internal marketing factors on organizational commitment and emotional labor in the elderly Care Worker. The data are collected through structured questionnaires. The Subjects of the final analysis is 191 persons working in the elderly care facilities in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk provinces. Hypothesis testing of the research model is performed using AMOS 18.0. The main results of this study are as follows. Internal marketing factors influenced only internal communication and management support for job satisfaction, internal support for managerial support for emotional labor, internal communication and management support for organizational commitment. The results of this study suggest that in order to enhance the organizational commitment of long-term care workers, it is important not to strengthen internal marketing capacity but to increase job performance first, and secondly, to improve job performance, It is necessary to establish a more diversified research on the variables of service quality of job satisfaction and emotional labor.
The primary purpose of this study is to examine empirically the effect of the organizational characteristics in the vessel with foreign crews on their self-efficacy and organization commitment. Currently, the restrictions on the employment of the foreign crews are being eased in the Korean shipping industry and many problems are occurring consequently. However, specific and empirical studies on the relevancy of organizational characteristics to the crew's self-efficacy and organizational commitment on board the vessels with combined crews have not yet been carried out. To solve these problems, we examined how the organizational characteristics such as communication and leadership trust of different language and culture related to vessels with combined crews influence on the self-efficacy, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of the foreign crews through SEM analysis. According to the results, hypothesis 1, 2 and 3 were all supported with statistical significance. That means that communication and leadership trust of the vessel with foreign crew had positive effects on their self-efficacy and that such self-efficacy also had a positive effect on the organizational commitment and job satisfaction. To conclude, this study suggests that foreign crew's self-efficacy should be firstly enhanced in order to improve organizational commitment on the vessel with combined crews. Furthermore, studies on self-efficacy of foreign crew's organization are urgently needed to enhance the effectiveness of an organization in a vessel with combined crews that has special environment - working environment with depression and uneasiness due to the exposure to the different language and culture, and excessive stress from the social and psychological adaptation. Therefore, an attempt of this study is considered to be timely since there has not been a study on this subject so far and result of this study will contribute a lot to the organization management of a vessel with combined crews.
