Design and Implementation of the Semi-automated Evaluation Workflow Management System(Sa-EWMS) (반자동화 평가워크플로우 관리 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • An evaluation demand and a market growth regarding evaluation and certification are increasing because the importance of information Security is gradually rising to solve the information disfunction. Therefore, it is necessary the cost-effect evaluation management of the Information Security System(ISS). In this paper, we propose the Semi-automated Evaluation Workflow Management System(Sa-EWMS) based on the Common Criteria(CC) which performs and manages evaluation work through the procedure when evaluator evaluates the Information Security System(ISS). The Sa-EWMS is solving a problem of consumption of time and effort and performing efficient evaluation, it is playing a significant role that traces workflow process of each work of the Engines and controls performance. It will be able to use useful the private evaluation enterprise which confront in an evaluation demand and a market growth.

  • In logistic environments, a process, in that it manages the flow of materials among partners, involves more than one organization. In this regard, a logistic process, as a combined process consisting of multiple sub processes, needs to be managed with controling interaction among partners. In achieving systematic management of a logistic process, traditional Business Process Management (BPM) cannot be used for the entire flow, since it lacks the ability to manage interactions among partners. Particularly in logistic environments where RFID technologies are used, how to deal with the connection between RFID event and logistic flow has not been properly addressed. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a new method of managing multi-organizational logistic processes based on RFID events. We define inter-workflow pattern, and suggest ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rules for auto triggering of logistic processes. To adjust the rules to RFID events, we invent RFID-based ECA rules using complex event. A prototype system has been developed for the purpose of demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.

  • This paper proposes a BPM(Business Process Management) system framework for the NPD(New Product Development) of automotive suppliers. Recently many enterprises change their organization from function-oriented to process-oriented through BPR (Business Process Reengineering). Especially, based on quality systems like QS9000, it is required to documented business processes and continuously improve these processes for customer satisfaction. NPD, the most significant function for industrial competition, is reinforced by the best practices business process to satisfy the requirements of quality systems. The main objective of the paper is the development of the information system that supports the best practices process management. For this, first, we define the requirements of BPM system for NPD based on the viewpoint analysis, and then propose a DES (Design Execution System) framework based on dynamic workflow engine. The DES is addressed in the characteristics of a NPD business process, integrated project management, and process execution. A prototype DES system has been developed in the web environment. Its validity is demonstrated by applying it to an automotive supplier.

  • Current increasingly information systems log historic information in a systematic way. Not only workflow management systems, but also ERP, CRM, SCM, and B2B systems often provide a so-called 'event log'. Unfortunately, the information in these event logs is rarely used to analyze the underlying processes. Process mining aims at improving this problem by providing techniques and tools for discovering process, control, data, organizational, and social structures from event logs. This paper focuses on the mining social networks. This is possible because event logs typically record information about the users executing the activities recorded in the log. To do this we combine concepts from workflow management and social network analysis. This paper introduces the approach and presents a tool to mine social networks from event logs.

  • The description of enterprise activities is the basis fur process improvement and information system building. To describe such activities, it is necessary to model the enterprise activities from the abstraction level to the implementation level in a stepwise and integrated form. For this reason, several modeling approaches have been proposed. However, most of them lacked the stepwise or integration aspects although some of them covered overall levels. This study proposes the hierarchical modeling approach for integrating the enterprise activity model from the abstraction level to the implementation level systematically. It is composed of five modeling levels such as function level, process level, task level, document workflow level, and event flow level. This study discusses the definition and characteristics of each level and compare our modeling frame with other modeling methodologies in case study.

  • Building envelope systems with growing complexity in geometry and performance criteria demand adapted workflow processes toward the efficient integration of their design and fabrication. To facilitate integration of the workflow process, this study analyzes relationships among teams who share digital models and exchange information that help project participants identify areas of improvement in task allocation and exchanges among various actors, systems, and activities. In addition, major gaps identified in knowledge transfer, project tracking, and design integration during the performance evaluation stages, emphasize the need for a more comprehensive approach to integrating the design, the fabrication, and the construction parameters of building envelope systems. To evaluate the effectiveness of streamlining interactions of design parameters with fabrication constraints and constructability assessments, this paper examines a mechanical design approach as it applies to various project scenarios to develop a mechanical solution for streamlining building envelope design and construction workflow.

  • Workflow management system provides automation of job processes by maintaining shareability on information about various job process schedules and persons related to those schedules. Existing workflow management systems use file or database to store the information generated in those systems. However, file or database system could manage only non-complicated information for the workflow but not the information resources of an enterprise which is complicated and of various formats. Therefore, we need a data management system that could control those information resources. This system should manage the data which are distributed at several places geographically. Information Repository could meet those requirements. Information Repository may integrate, store and manage information resources requested by application systems. We have an international standard for the information repository, Information Resources Dictionary System(IRDS). The IRDS, however, does not support distributed environment. In this paper, we design and implement an information repository based on IRDS that may be operated in distributed environment. We verify that this information repository is more effective and is more effective than any other file or database system.

  • In astronomy, the amount of data generated using wide-field optical telescope has increased exponentially. However, the fixed-size small-scale computing environment and the complexity of data analysis tools, results in difficulties to process the massive observation data collected. To resolve this problem, we propose a cloud-based automation system for the efficient processing of the enormous data gathered. The proposed system consists of a Workflow Execution Manager which manages various workflow templates and controls the execution of workflows instantiated from theses templates, and an Elastic Resource Manager that dynamically adds/deletes computing resources, according to the amount of data analysis requests. To show the effectiveness of our proposed system, we exhaustively explored a board spectrum of experiments, like elastic resources allocation, system load, etc. Finally, we describe the best practice case of DEEP-SOUTH scheduling system as an example application.
