A Case Study on Strategic Shift from Smart-Work to Work-Smart of Company K

  • Early smart-work of company K was a technology-led way of applying ICT such as smart phones and mobile devices to business. After company K perceived the limitations of ICT-driven smart work, it propelled the work-smart, doing a work smart toward the way that human beings become central and a creative organizational culture is engendered. Company K propelled work-smart strategy in eight categories: simplification of data requirements, establishment efficient meeting culture, streamlining reporting and approval process, simplified document creation, overtime decrease, spreading flexible work system, settlement of healing leave, creating work-smart place. Company K set up an organizational culture secretariat dedicated to work-smart promotion and selected task priorities in consideration of urgency and effectiveness. Owing to such efforts, the company K's work-smart index rose sharply to 72 points this year from 56 points in the previous year. At the organizational culture survey, employees responded that organizational culture improved in all area. For a better future, company K analyzed its work-smart outcomes and planned progressively to improve its work-smart efforts based on employees opinions. This case study will serve as a guideline, for companies to make efforts to going forward to today work-smart beyond yesterday smart-work.

A Study on Effective Floor Area for Wheelchair Users to Use Toilet (휠체어 사용자의 대변기 이용을 위한 화장실 유효바닥면적에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide logical basis on enlargement of toilet floor space for the disabled by "ACT ON GUARANTEE OF PROMOTION OF CONVENIENCE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, THE AGED, PREGNANT WOMEN. ETC" Revised Enforcement regulation [Asterisk 1] (2018.2.10.) and to help with making plans, designs and establishing policies by conducting experimental study with the enhanced floor area regulations. Methods: We conduct Experimental study, field work and interview for this paper. In experimental study, verification of the effective floor area was proceeded by measuring activity space for people in manual wheelchair, electric wheel chair and electric scooter and also reviewed useable area with the space expanded 0.2m both width and depth. In filed work, conducted an observation what other things (ex. sanitary equipment, hand rail and so on) can also affect the active space as well as effective floor space. In the interview, other problems and requirements that were not revealed were experimental study and observation of field work. Results : it's expected to provide better access to toilets for the disabled with the law revision of effective floor area. But, with the usage increasement of enlarged wheel chair and electric wheel chair, expanding side areas of toilet is also highly likely to be required going forward. Implications : Additional research is required on locations of exists and internal arrangement that effect the usage of toilet. It should be led to Universal design by making additional investigation and verification of the users patterns.

Polygonal Model Analysis on Occupational Exposure Record of Radiation Workers by Work Field (업종별 방사선작업종사자 피폭 기록 다각형 모델 분석 연구)

  • Since the radiological risk is different depending on the working environment, protection measures and policies must be developed through analysis of the field area environment. Evaluating the characteristics of the field area that uses radiation should be conducted through comparative analysis with other industries, not just the numerical value of the field area. In this study, evaluation factors were derived from exposure records by the department to compare radiation occupational exposure records by sector. And then, we developed a polygonal model for comparative analysis and applied them to eight work fields through ten evaluation factors. Based on the occupational exposure record in 2020, a polygonal model was applied to compare and evaluate the characteristics of the radiation work area. Through this, the usefulness of the polygonal model was confirmed, and protection policy measures for the industry were proposed.

Factors Influencing Commuting Time to Work for the Simple Linkage Travel (단순연계 출근통행시간에 미치는 요인분석)

  • This study investigates the factor that influences commuting time to work when individuals allocate their time for different types of activities. The commuting time is an important indicator for an individual to determine the residence and choose the means of transportation. The analysis uses the data collected from people who live in Seoul metropolitan area including Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, and commute to work and making the simple linkage travel (home-work-home) within the area. For the analysis, the Cox hazard proportional methodology was adopted. The method is known to be well applied without assuming any distribution in case of the dependent variable being continuous. For the covariate, the interaction effect between the space variable of the work place and the variable of transportation has been also included in the model. The commuting time to work has been estimated for both 1) the whole metropolitan area and 2) the separate regions i.e., Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi-Do. The result reveals that characteristic variables related to individual, household and travel properties influence the mode of transportation and the time allocated for commuting to work (p<0.01). This study also demonstrates the usefulness of the Cox hazard proportional model. The data used in this study is the actual household travel data surveyed in 2006 in the metropolitan area, and analyzing the survey data in 2010 is currently in progress. Comparison of the two survey data sets seeking any behavioral change is suggested for the future study.

Analysis and Framing of Dietitian's of Description (영양사 직무기술서 작성 연구)

  • This study was conducted as a part of the project developing the standards of national board test for the dietitian's licence. The purpose of this study was to define the job description of dietitians, and to describe the task elements based on the detailed analysis of the dietitians' work. This study team established the research team which was composed of food and nutrition experts, 7 of registered dietitians and 3 of university professors. Draft job description form was made to fully explain the dietitians' task elements, process and sequence by the research team. Final job description form was confirmed after the validity of 576 task elements was reevaluated upon 4 point scale test based on the frequency, importance, and difficulty by 21 field registered dietitian by the study team. It was also confirmed by the university. This form was formated by following DACUM method which analyzed the job description containing duty, task and task elements. It was organized to include every dietitians' work and to describe the every detailed process of work. Duty was defined as the specific and independent work as a dietitian, and was composed of 17 parts, i.e 10 parts in food supply management area and 6 parts in nutritional care service area and self promotion area. Duties were also divided into 99 tasks containing the 576 detailed task elements to describe definite action, steps and decisions. Seventeen parts are following; menu planning, storage and inventory control, food production, meal service, waste management, sanitation, equipment and facility management, human resource management, financial management, nutrition assessment of life cycle, nutritional assessment of several disease, nutritional assessment in specific condition, medical nutrition therapy, nutritional education, public health nutrition and self promotion. If these protocols are properly performed and presented, they can provide the likelihood that dietetics professionals work as a primary contributors in promoting health care and preventing disease nationally.

Local Work-function Variation of the Initial Oxidation-Stages of Si(111)-7${\times}$7 (Si(111)-7${\times}$7 표면의 초기산화 단계에서의 국부 일함수 변화)

  • In the initial stages of oxidation of Si(111)-7${\times}$7 held at 40K through exposing molecular oxygen, it has been detected average work-function measured by ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) is about 0.4eV higher than the local work-function of the modified area measured by photoemission for adsorbed Xenon (PAX). This result indicates that the increment of work-function at the initial oxidation stages of Si(111)-7${\times}$7 is mainly due to the moleculary adsorbed oxygen. From the shift of broadened Xe 5p and Xe 3d, it has also been estimated that the work-function of the modified area is 0.6eV higher than that of the clean area.

  • Korean living culture raised the users' needs for sub-kitchen. In the traditional Korean house, there was large space related to kitchen area for preparing food and stock big and bulky housing stuffs. As apartment housing became dominant as Korean dwelling, sub-kitchen has been planed in the balcony that is not included in the sales area. In this study, the case of the apartment housing in Esiapolis, Daegu was analyzed. To plan the user-oriented sub-kitchen, the consumer research was carried out. Consumers needed a pantry, more storage near the kitchen, and wanted to place washing machine and washing stand in a sub-kitchen. Sub-kitchens were planed to meet those consumers' needs. Through this case study and former studies analysis, sub-kitchen's function unit was derived: wash, storage, auxiliary work. By combining each function unit, sub-kitchen was classified into 3 types, wash & auxiliary work, wash & storage, and wash & storage & auxiliary work. For each sub-kitchen type, components of function units, available layouts, and minimum size were recommended.

  • Systematic classification system for standardization in telecommunication is essential to the standardization R&D strategy. This paper suggests a new reference model for development of work area and classification scheme related to the telecommunications standardization : Cubic and matrix approach. Standardization Work Areas(SWAs) that are upper level of the reference model are classified by its main role and function reflecting the market trends and user needs. Standardization expertise is lower level scheme, which can be regarded as the different possible layers of standardization to be applied to each one of the SWAs grouped under upper level scheme. A new reference model consists of two planes that are SWAs plane and Standardization layer plane. Finally the reference model for classification of SWAs in telecommunication mapping onto matrix table that row and column are defined by SWAs and standardization layer respectively.

  • According to develop urban area, the depth and floor area of basement tend to become deeper and larger. Excavation work for basement floor work is very important because its cost take 20% of total construction cost. Therefore, many studies of developing retaining wall system have performed for feasibility and safety in deep excavation work. In this study, new supporting system used high-strength pipe for retaining wall is introduced to reduce the construction cost and improve the safety and constructability by analyzing case study.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the needs for the balance of work-family and to provide the related policies for dual worker family. We focused on the life area of educare and school. Data were collected from 197 working mothers who have 1 or more children under age 10. The findings were: 1) after-school programs, holidays on every alternate Saturday, arbitrary no school days were not appropriate to the working parents' everyday life patterns, so the paradigm and practical conditions should be adapted to the needs of working parents. 2) the most working parents depended on the kindergarden, but the parents' satisfaction with the quality of service, time duration, the human resource of educare teacher was not sufficient, so these issues should be discussed more profoundly.
