열간압연 고강도강 형상제어기술 (Technology of flatness control for high strength steel in hot strip mill)

  • The simulation program is developed to get the target strip crown of high strength steel in the continuous hot strip rolling. The developed program consists of several sub-program, which contains work roll shifting pattern, roll wear profile, roll thermal expanded profile and strip profile. Also, the variation of strip profile is investigated according to roll deflection and flattening. The results are compared with the values observed from the actual hot rolling of high strength steel. And effect of bender force on the strip profile is studied. The strip crown is shown to decrease with increasing bender force.

  • This paper presents the design of an active roll control system for a ground vehicle and an experimental study using an devised electric-actuating roll control system. Based on a three degree of freedom linear vehicle model, the controller is designed using lateral acceleration and rollrate feedback. In order to investigate the feasibility of an active control system, experimental work is carried out using a hardware-in-the-loop (Hil) setup which has been constructed by the devised electric-actuating system and the full vehicle model including tire characteristics. The performance is evaluated by an experiment using the Hil setup with limited bandwidth. Finally, in order to enhance the control performance in the transient region, a hybrid control strategy is proposed and evaluated.

압연롤 토크를 이용한 열연박판 마무리압연 선진율 예측 정밀도 개선연구 (Development of High Precision Forward Slip Model By Using Roll Torque in Hot Strip Finishing Mill)

  • New forward slip model has been developed for the precise prediction of rolling speed in the hot strip finishing mill. Besides those influential factors such as neutral point, work roll diameter, friction coefficient, bite angle and the thickness at each side of entry and delivery of the rolls, roll torque was specifically taken into account in this study. To consider the effect of width change on forward slip, calibration factors obtained from rolling torque has been added to new prediction model and refining method has also been developed to reduce the speed unbalance between adjacent stands. The application of the new model showed a good agreement in rolling speeds between the predictions and the actual measurements, and the standard deviation of prediction error has also been significantly reduced.

  • For the effective manufacture of doubly curved metal plates, a line array roll set (LARS) process is proposed. The suggested process utilizes a pair of upper and lower symmetric roll assemblies. In the process, the initial plate is progressed into the final shape in a stepwise or pathwise manner according to the basic principle of the incremental forming process. In this work, the intermediate shape which is closest to a final shape is proposed to fabricate the desired shape effectively in design of forming schedule. The intermediate shape has homogeneous curvature in a longitudinal and transverse direction so that it can be fabricated easily without complicated controls of rolls in the roll set. The method of approximation using genetic algorithm is proposed and applied to some actual ship hulls to evaluate the efficiency of the algorithm.

  • In this study, it was investigated the influence of cold rolling factors on the edge drop. Edge drop was highly affected by the shape of work roll, the amount of work roll shift and the crown of hot strip, but the effect of bending force at the front stand was relatively small. The used numerical model was examined by comparing to the result of measured field data, and it showed a qualitative agreement with each other.

착상과 제상이 냉동장치의 운전특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Frost and Defrost on the Operating Characteristics of Refrigeration System)

  • This study was investigated the effect on operating characteristics of apparatus according to frosting and defrosting to develop of new defrosting equipment. The results showed as following. Frost was almost removed using the defrosting equipment with roll brush type that defrosting is possible under operating condition. Also, the temperature of compressor inlet, evaporator inlet and outlet showed higher value because of heat transfer resistance of cooling pipe frost comparing with defrosting condition. And the compressor work showed 10% lower and COP was presented 24% higher values than defrosting condition. Therefore, defrosting for cooling coil of refrigeration and low temperature storage was effected on operation and performance characteristics of equipment. This highly effects on real refrigeration apparatus which is operated in year-around.

  • Chemical-Mechanical Polishing (CMP) refers to a material removal process done by rubbing a work piece against a polishing pad under load in the presence of chemically active, abrasive containing slurry. CMP process is a combination of chemical dissolution and mechanical action. The mechanical action of CMP involves tribology. The liquid slurry is trapped between the wafer(work piece) and pad(tooling) forming a lubricating film. For the first step to understand material removal rate of the CMP process, the lubricational analyses were done with commercial 100mm diameter silicon wafers to get nominal clearance of the slurry film, roll and pitch angle at the steady state. For this purpose, we calculate slurry pressure, resultant forces and moments at the steady state in the range of typical industrial polishing conditions.
