  • Objectives: The purpose was to conduct a characteristic study on panic disorder patients through The Core Emotional Assessmental Questionnaire (CEAQ), followed by a correlation analysis with STAI, STAXI and BDI. Methods: We analyzed medical records of 62 patients who had visited ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ University hospital, oriental neuropsychiatric department and completed the The Core Emotional Assessmental Questionnaire (CEAQ), STAI, STAXI, and BDI. Finally, 20 patients who were diagnosed as Panic Disorder according to DSM-V (2013) were included in the study. Patient data was analyzed by Chi-Square test, frequency analysis, independent t-test, one-sample t-test, and correlation analysis using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social S 21.0 Version). Results: 1. Panic disorder patients experienced less Hui, and more Sa (思), Gong (恐), Kyeong (驚), and Bi (悲). 2. Female Panic disorder patients experienced more Hui (喜), as compared to male patients; whereas, male patients experienced more No (怒). 3. U (憂), Bi (悲), Sa (思), Gong (恐), and Kyeong (驚) emotions of Panic disorder patients were correlated to STAI-S, STAI-T, and BDI.

  • Objectives: This study conducted a retrospective review to compare the effectiveness of herbal medicine, while confirming the effectiveness of Korean medicine (KM) in traffic accidents (TA). Methods: We investigated the medical records of TA patients who were hospitalized at Muuido Korean medicine hospital from January 2016 to June 2018 retrospectively. Medical records included general characteristics (Gender, age), TA & treatment-related information (Collision type, chief complaint, hospitalization period, and herbal medicine prescription), and clinical scales (Five-scale improvement, numerical rating scale (NRS)). Statistical analysis was performed for data distribution and effectiveness comparison. Results: 755 TA patients showed 0.78:1 gender ratio. 20-50s years old, rear collision, pain in the cervical and lumbar spine, and hospitalization period within 14 days were the majority. KM improved 83.18% of 755 TA patients' symptoms and ROM over 'improvement' level, which indicated 30-70% improvement. With common KM treatments including acupuncture, cupping, heat therapy, and manipulation therapy, TA patients received various herbal medicines and herbal medicine for breaking severe blood stasis (Tongdo-san) showed improvement in both five-scale improvement and NRS change at the same time. Conclusions: We could confirm the effectiveness of KM, particularly herbal medicine in TA. It would be necessary to develop new herbal medicines such as Tongdo-san to treat TA-related symptoms.

  • In this paper, we obtained some supportive evidence for the long-run PPP relationship concerning the Korean Won currency. Previous tests of PPP in the bilateral exchange rates of the Korean Won rate vis-a-vis the U.S. Dollar have been exposed to the lack of power problem. We argue that their failure to find PPP relation in Korean Won rates was due to the low power of Augmented Dickey-Fuller tests or the Engle-Granger two-step tests applied to the Korean exchange rate data with short sample period. En attempting to alleviate this low power problem, we used the error-correction model test and the Johansen test for bilateral long-run equilibrium relationships between exchange rates and price indices from Korea's major trading partners. It is surprising that our evidence supporting for long-run PPP in Korean Won rate contrasts sharply with Bahmani-Oskooee, Moshen and Rhee, Hyun-Jae(1992)'s.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to conduct a characteristic study on Bell's palsy patients using the Core Seven Emotion Inventory (CSEI) followed by correlation analysis with BAI and BDI. Methods: This study was conducted by analyzing medical records of 30 patients that had visited ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ University Oriental hospital and completed the Core Seven Emotions Inventory (CSEI), BAI and BDI. A total of 30 patients diagnosed with Bell's palsy were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science, IBM, United States of America, Version 22.0). Descriptive statistics, Independent t-test, One-way repeated measure, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analysis were used for data analysis. Results: 1. Kyeong (驚), Bi (悲) and Gong (恐) emotions were relatively higher than U (憂), Hui (喜). 2. According to sex, female patients exhibited higher Kyeong (驚) and Gong (恐) emotions than male patients. 3. According to age, patients older than 60 exhibited higher Hui (喜) emotion than patients younger than 59. 4. According to the correlation between prognosis and age in patients older than 60 revealed negative correlation in Kyeong (驚) and Gong (恐) emotions. Conclusions: Using the Core Assessment Instrument based on Chiljeong for Bell's palsy patients is effective relative to diagnostic and clinical aspects of Bell's palsy.
