  • Let M be an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold with boundary .part.M. We consider the Neumann eigenvalue problem on M of the equation (Fig.) where .upsilon. is the unit outward normal vector to the boundary .part.M. due to the importance of Poincare inequality for analysis on manifolds, one wishes to obtain the lower bound of the first non-zero eigenvalue .eta.$_{1}$ of (1.1). For the purpose of applications, it is important to relax the dependency of the lower bound on the geometric quantities. For general compact manifolds with convex boundary, Li-Yau [3] obtained the lower bound of .eta.$_{1}$. Recently, Roger Chen [1] investigated the lower bound of the first Neumann eigenvalue .eta.$_{1}$ on compact manifold M with nonconvex boundary. We investigate the lower bound .eta.$_{1}$ with the same conditions as those of Roger chen. But, using the different auxiliary function, we have the following theorem.

  • In this paper, we consider an economic order quantity(EOQ) and an optimal discount pricing policy for the monopsony related to the weapon system acquisition. In the monopsony case, a buyer wishes to maximize the profit. However, a seller wants to minimize the total inventory related cost since a buyer can determine the purchase price for the product. We develop a generalized version of EOQ model for the monopsony, including one seller-one buyer model and two seller-one buyer model. A model of buyer reaction to any given pricing scheme is developed to show that there exits a unified pricing policy which motivates the buyer to increase its ordering quantity per order, thereby reducing the joint(buyer and seller) ordering and holding costs in the system.

  • This paper discusses the quorum based algorithm for group mutual exclusion defined by Yuh-Jzer Joung. Group mutual exclusion[4,5,6] is a generalization of mutual exclusion that allows a resource to be shared by processes of the same group, but requites processes of different groups to use the resource in a mutually exclusive style. Joung proposed a quorum system, which he referred to as the surficial quorum system for group mutual exclusion and two modifications of Maekawa's algorithm[6]. He mentioned that when a process may belong to more than one group, the process must identify one of the groups it belongs when it wishes to enter CS(Critical Section). However, his solution didn't provide mechanism of identifying a group which maximizes the possibility to enter CS. In this paper, we provide a mechanism for identifying that each process belongs to which group.

  • The indonesian government wishes to increase farmers' by encouraging dairy farming. Since 1980, imported dairy cattle have been distributed on credit. Survey data from 1990 were used to study the average milk sales per cow and the economic parameters of dairy production of a sample of farm households on seven milk cooperatives East Java Province, in three agro-ecological areas, oriented to sugar cane, cassava and horticulture, respectively. in general, dairy production proved not to be economically attractive as returns to labour were similar to the rates for agricultural labour. The returns showed marked differences among the three areas studied. They were highest in the horticultural area. Analysis of the dairy units according to size showed a tendency for inputs as well as revenue per cow to decline as herd size increased. It is argued that a further increase in milk production in East Java can be stimulated by raising the farm gate price of milk, or by expanding dairy production into suitable, new areas.

  • Purpose: This study was to explore the experiences of perioperative patients with cancer. The purpose of this inquiry was to describe the essence of such experiences, and to understand them from the patients' point of view. Method: Participants in this study were 9 cancer patients with ages ranging from 31 to 70 years old, living in B city, who experienced cancer operations. Data collection consisted of in-depth interviews and an observation method done from October to December in 2003. In analysing data, Colaizzi's(1978) phenomenological research method was adopted. Results: Five categories emerged from ten theme clusters. The five categories were: 'shock', 'expectations & wishes', 'despair', 'feelings of burden', 'continual pain'. Conclusion: The results of this study showthat oncology nurses need to pay more attention to the psychosocial aspect of nursing to empathize and support the cancer patients who suffer and its treatment, and operations.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the opportunities of close emotional support and communication provided by child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful to the three subjects of early childhood education, children, teacher, and parents, and provide implications about how to utilize child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities in the field of education properly. According to the findings, first, to children, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as asecret time between them and their teacher, time that their teacher pays keen attention to them, and time to enhance confidence. Second, to teachers, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as aspecial time to be with children, time to understand children, and time to reflect on their educational process and figure out proper teaching or supporting methods. Third, to parents, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful in a way in which they can understand moreabout their children and is a meaningful time to plan and provide proper care upon their children's wishes or needs.

  • The Marketing strategy is basic to the marketing plan for a firm. It encompasses the art and science of employing the means for achieving established marketing goals. The use of the word "strategy" in reference to the performance of marketing operations has been accepted in general usage during the last twenty years by both business practitioners and educators. It has been borrowed from the military vocabulary where it refers to the art and science of employing the armed strength of a belligerent force to secure the objectives of war. A marketing strategy consists of two distinct and yet interrelated parts: 1. A target market ${\cdots}{\cdots}$a fairly homogeneous group of customers to whom a company wishes to appeal. 2. A marketing mix ${\cdots}{\cdots}$ the controllable variables which the company combines to satisfy this target group.get group.

  • If a licensed cook of a special-deluxe hotel restaurant and n family restaurant receives stress psychologically and physically, it will influence the interaction with customers who eat their food. Job stress is known to affect the kitchen operation and cause negative formation of interior and exterior customer management. This study wishes to present the method that can minimize the negative effect caused by stress, leading to an elevation of service quality that is offered to customers by removing those factors related to the stress of a licensed cook. This study established the range of targets to compare the cooks of super-deluxe hotel restaurants and those of family restaurants and to apply result of this research to whole licensed cooks is considered to have some limitations. Therefore, estimating job stress and turnover intention of general licensed cooks through comparison with tourist hotels and general restaurants should be significant hereafter.

  • There are not much digital contents researches that do to culture relics basically. Digital contents research is studied by various method such as Cyber Gallery, 3-D Graphics, Hologram from Scanning that is the simplest form. This research wishes to do with internal culture relics as the central figure that it is that 'Sosu Seowon'. Korean culture contents cyber gallery construction can see as childhood yet. Present result that investigator develops research and as presentation about research process and contents result, wish to argue about problem. Digital contents escapes in existent physical time factor and development to new culture code is possible. Go and come often carrying out and search of fast data or experience of cultural inheritance is available. Through research, wished to present possible metheod actually in digital contents manufacture of internal cultural inheritance. Through this, expect role that offer base in contents manufacture skill.

  • This paper deals with factors discriminating mathematically gifted and non-gifted students. Discussion of some characteristics of mathematically gifted students is done in the first session. Several factors distinguish mathematically gifted from the non-gifted students. High mathematical creativity, high intelligence and opinion of teachers are some of the key factors that can be used for discriminating mathematically gifted and non-gifted students. Research studies have revealed that cognitive as well as affective factors will enhance giftedness. In this study the investigator wishes to look in detail about the characteristics of mathematically gifted students and how they can be identified. Anyway, teachers can change environmental factors and maximum outcome of giftedness can be ensured."
