Wireless PKI Based Certificate Verification Using Virtual Identifier (무선 PKI 기반의 가상 식별자를 이용한 인증서 검증)

  • In wireless Internet environment that demand of wireless Internet service increase steadily, wireless PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) service is appearing on stage as necessary essential base technology for information protection service offer, In this paper, we propose the method for verification to reduce the communication overload using VID to CSMP made with a goal of the performance guarantee for security and use in a real time and examine the existent certificate verification methods. The performance of security and the use in a real time is guaranteed by managing the note of authentification by the person who verifies and reducing the amount of the data transmission using VID.

  • PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) which is used for the security of E-commerce (Electronic-commerce) in wired internet is not suitable for the mobile phone because of the fundamental limitation of performance such as less memory and less powerful CPU. Therefore, we need to develop a wireless PKI (WPKI) that provides the similar security level as the wired PKI supporting mobile phone. In this paper, we propose a lightweight and secure Wireless Certificate Management Protocol (WCMP) that is executable to the mobile phone that has a constrained communication environment and limitation of performance, and show the implementation results of the scheme based on the mobile phone. We minimize data sizes processed in mobile phone, and optimize protocols for the certificate management. This results in the reduced module sizes to be able to install in mobile phone and shows as the same level as the wired CMP.

  • There were many exposed problems in previous authentication method on LAN. Especially Open System Authentication Method, Shared Key Method, Mac Based Authentication Method are very hard to use in wireless network that needs security. So now, many researches have been performed about $802.1{\times}$ and user authentication method applying PKI. But certificate verification protocol has been used abolished list called CRL since it's first usage of PKI, there were still has a problem about distribution point. In this paper, I applied CVS to use CA direct not to use CRL and OSCP server in order to improve this problems.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 무선 PKI에서 개선되어야 할 여러 가지 사항 중에서 인증서 획득 시간을 단축하기 위한 새로운 인증구조를 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 키 교환방식에서 키 교환 설정단계가 단순히 이산 대수문제에 근거하여 수행되었지만 인증서 시간단축을 위한 무선 PKI 인증구조의 상호인증과정에서는 키 교환 설정단계에서 타원곡선을 적용하였다. 인증 시간을 Sufatrio, K. Lam[4]가 제안한 인증구조와 제안한 인증구조를 실험을 통해 비교ㆍ분석하였다.

  • 무선 PKI 환경에서는 단말기의 한계나 무선 환경이라는 제약 때문에 유선 PKI 환경에서 제공되는 다양한 서비스를 받기 위해 여러 가지 기술이 요구되며, 이를 위해 많은 기술 규격들이 개발되어 표준화가 진행 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 표준화가 완료된 무선 PKI 기술 표준과 표준화가 진행중인 무선 PKI 기술 규격에 대해 알아보고 이를 이용하여 제공되고 있는 서비스에 대해 알아본다. 또한, 향후에 무선 PKI 기반에서 제공될 수 있는 서비스와 무선 환경의 제약사항을 개선할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다.

  • 인터넷과 개인휴대통신의 발달과 더불어 유.무선 인증서비스는 PKI틀 기반으로 다양하게 구현되고 있다. 그러나 유.무선이 혼재된 형태의 통신망에서 Client간의 통신에 필요한 인증체계에 대한 연구는 초기단계이며 특히, Ad Hoc 통신망과 같이 가변적인 Topology를 형성하는 특수한 상황에서 지속적인 인증서비스를 제공할 수 있는 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 국가비상사태와 같은 긴급을 요하는 상황에서 신속히 구성되는 무선 Ad Hoc 통신망을 기반으로 한 인증체계를 구축하기 위하여 인증서 검증모델을 중심으로 유.무선PKI 통합모델을 제안한다.

Analysis for Authentication waiting time in Hand-over using Queueing Model (큐잉 모델을 이용한 핸드오버 시 인증 대기시간 분석)

  • In this paper, a conventional key exchange method simply Performs the key exchange setup step based on discrete algebraic subjects. But the mutual-authentication procedure of wireless PKI for reducing authentication time uses an elliptical curve for a key exchange setup step. Proposed hand-over method shows reduced hand-over processing time than conventional method since it can reduce CRL retrieval time. Also, we compared proposed authentication structure and conventional algorithm, and simulation results show that proposed authentication method outperforms conventional algorithm in authentication waiting time.

  • A mobile ad hoc network(MANET) is a network where a set of mobile devices communicate among themselves using wireless transmission without the support of a fixed network infrastructure. The use of wireless links makes MANET susceptible to attack. Eavesdroppers can access secret information, violating network confidentiality, and compromised nodes can launch attack from within a network. Therefore, the security for MANET depends on using the cryptographic key, which can make the network reliable. In addition, because MANET has a lot of mobile devices, the authentication scheme utilizing only the symmetric key cryptography can not support a wide range of device authentication. Thereby, PKI based device authentication technique in the Ad Hoc network is essential and the paper will utilize the concept of PKI. Especially, this paper is focused on the key management technique of PKI technologies that can offer the advantage of the key distribution, authentication, and non-reputation, and the issuing and managing technique of certificates based on clustering using Threshold Cryptography for secure communication in MANET.

  • IEEE 802.15.3 High Rate WPAN is a mechanism for wireless home network such as PDAs, digital video camcoder, etc. While symmetric keys are used for MAC layer security, the process of establishing a secure membership or a secure relationship is outside of the scope of the standard. In addition, to prepare for ubiquitous environment in the near future, it is important to study the process of establishing a secure relationship between DEVs in different dependent piconets. This paper propose a secure model and a process of establishing a secure relationship using PKI without a ousted certificate authority.
