New Reference Generation for a Single-Phase Active Power Filter to Improve Steady State Performance

  • This paper proposes a new algorithm to generate a reference signal for an active power filter using a sliding-window FFT operation to improve the steady-state performance of the active power filter. In the proposed algorithm the sliding-window FFT operation is applied to the load current to generate the reference value for the compensating current. The magnitude and phase-angle for each order of harmonics are respectively averaged for 14 periods. Furthermore, the phase-angle delay for each order of harmonics passing through the controller is corrected in advance to improve the compensation performance. The steady-state and transient performance of the proposed algorithm was verified through computer simulations and experimental work with a hardware prototype. A single-phase active power filter with the proposed algorithm can offer a reduction in THD from 75% to 4% when it is applied to a non-linear load composed of a diode bridge and a RC circuit. The active power filter with the proposed reference generation method shows accurate harmonic compensation performance compared with previously developed methods, in which the THD of source current is higher than 5%.

  • This study is about the description method & scope of maintenability in window components which have been applied to the remodelling work in Apartment Housing. Already we did established the maintenability performance index through the preceding research in recent. It is defined as changeability, prefabrication, coordination. and capacity of performance preservation. As the results of analysys on the performance information that is reported by catalog & internet media, the ratio of adaptation as a maintenabilty performance was revealed to percentage of 11(11%). And as the respects of represented content, majority of the performance information only have dealt with advertising-effect, rather than physical performance make easy to change and separat.

  • This paper focuses on a TCP window-based flow control mechanism with Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN). We investigate the fundamental problem of achieving a fair window control for TCP, which cooperates with ECN. This is done by using feedback congestion pricing as a means of estimating the state of bottleneck router. The problem is solved by achieving network optimal performance, which maximize the total user utilities. We then look at the simulation of such scheme.

  • Restricted Access Window (RAW) has been designed to improve power saving efficiency by reducing collisions of contending stations in the IEEE 802.11ah Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). We conduct simulations in order to observe the stations' operations influencing the lengths of the Restricted Access Window (RAW). From the observation, we consider how to adjust the stations' operations for proper RAW managements.

  • Recently researches on the window cleaning robot are being conducted actively. Moving mechanismsof these window cleaning robots are divided into two categories, which are towed type and walking type. Towed type is focused on fast cleaning on the flat surface of building and walking type has priority on cleaning task on relatively complex surface with overcoming obstacles. Currently commercialized towed type window cleaning robot has weakness that it is hard to adhere closely with the wall and easy to be affected by wind. In case of walking type it has the problem that the position errors are continuously accumulated during motion. In this paper, we propose new towed and walking type mechanism which can compensate previous weaknesses. After that we estimate the performance of each proposed mechanism by simulation.

  • 본 연구는 어떤 조직 내에서의 네트워크를 내부 네트워크와 외부 네트워크로 구분하고, 이들에 각각의 서버를 할당하여 분산된 서비스를 제공하는 환경을 대상으로 한다. 각 서버의 특성에 맞게 TCP Parameter 중의 하나인 Window Size를 설정하여 내부 네트워크의 성능 향상을 시도하였다. 외부 네트워크에서는 Window Size 가 큰 영향을 미치지 못하나 내부 네트워크에서는 Window Size 에 따라서 처리율(Throughput)이 크게 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 Window Size 의 조절을 통해서 내부 네트워크의 처리율(throughput) 변화를 NS-2 를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 해 보고 그 결과를 비교하여 내부 네트워크의 성능 향상을 확인하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we present an effective covariance tracking algorithm based on adaptive size changing of tracking window. Recent researches have advocated the use of a covariance matrix of object image features for tracking objects instead of the conventional histogram object models used in popular algorithms. But, according to the general covariance tracking algorithm, it can not deal with the scale changes of the moving objects. The scale of the moving object often changes in various tracking environment and the tracking window(or object kernel) has to be adapted accordingly. In addition, the covariance matrix of moving objects should be adaptively updated considering of the tracking window size. We provide a solution to this problem by segmenting the moving object from the background pixels of the tracking window. Therefore, we can improve the tracking performance of the covariance tracking method. Our several simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • For developing acoustic window, transmission loss in accordance with incident angle was calculated and compared with measurement results. In design stage, the material choice of acoustic window is very important because the material is one of main parameters of transmission loss and structural strength. In order to analyze the effect of material properties on transmission loss, the parametric studies were carried out and the results were discussed in this paper. And, to verify the design specification of acoustic window, measurement was carried out and the results were compared and analyzed.

  • 패킷 네트워크에서 음성, 영상 트래픽이 IP, UDP, RTP 를 이용하여 전송 될 때 중복 헤더가 사용되어 통신의 비효율을 초래한다. 이를 방지 하기 위해 ROHC(Robust Header Compression)가 적용된다. 이는 인접 패킷 헤더 간의 차이 값이 규칙적으로 증가하는 영역은 그 차이 값만을 전송한다. 차이 값은 WLSB 인코딩 과정을 거쳐 전송이 되는데 인코팅 시 Sliding Window 값이 사용된다. Sliding Window 크기에 따라 헤더 압축률이 변하고 대역폭에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 논문에서는 효과적인 Sliding Window 값을 구하여 기존 ROHC 에 적용 하여 네트워크 통신의 효율성을 향상 시키고자 한다.

  • Digital signal processing technique use to variety fields including communication. For these signal processing, FIR digital filter is representative. And for FIR digital filter designing, the window function is used to reduce the Gibbs phenomenon which occurs in the coefficient cutting process of the ideal filter. Therefore, in this paper to improve performance of digital filter, a high-order window function was applied. In this simulation, we compared a peak side-lobe and a transient characteristics with the existing window function.
