Magnetic Field Analysis of 1 MVA HTS Transformer Windings

  • In a HTS transformer, the perpendicular component of magnetic flux density ($B_r$) applied to HTS tapes of pancake windings becomes larger than that of solenoid winding, thereby decreasing the critical current in the HTS tapes. This paper introduces several methods to reduce $B_r$ applied to the HTS tapes in the transformer with double pancake windings by changing winding arrangements and the relative permeability of flux diverters. We have conducted a winding design for a single-phase 1MVA 22.9kV/6.6kV HTS transformer. We observed a change of $B_r$ due to a variation of gap-length between the high voltage windings and the low voltage windings, reciprocal arrangement and an increase of the number of the high voltage pancake. We also observed a change of Br on the HTS tapes due to variation of the relative permeability of flux diverters placed between the high voltage winding and the low voltage winding. Finally, we have designed a 1MVA 22.9kV/6.6kV HTS transformer winding using suggested methods and calculated transformer parameters by the 3D finite element method.

  • SiC and its composites have been considered for use as nuclear fuel cladding materials of pressurized light water reactors. In this study, a $SiC_f$/SiC composite as a constituent layer of SiC triplex fuel cladding was fabricated using a chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) process in which tubular SiC fiber preforms were prepared using a filament winding method. To enhance the matrix density of the composite layer, winding patterns, deposition temperature, and gas input ratio were controlled. Fiber arrangement and porosity were the main parameters influencing densification behaviors. Final density of the composites decreased as the SiC fiber volume fraction increased. The CVI process was optimized to densify the tubular preforms with high fiber volume fraction at a high $H_2$/MTS ratio of 20 at $1000^{\circ}C$; in this process, surface canning of the composites was effectively retarded.

LLC DC to DC 공진 컨버터의 고주파 변압기 최적화 설계에 관한 연구 (A study on an optimal design of the high frequency transformer in LLC DC to DC resonant converter)

  • 본 논문에서는 315W급 65인치 UHD-TV용 LLC DC to DC 공진 컨버터에 사용되고 있는 Slim형 고주파 변압기의 최적화 설계에 대해서 나타낸다. 또한 본 논문에서는 LLC 공진 변압기의 코어 손실 분석, AC 권선 손실 분석 및 권선 배치 최적화 설계를 통해 Slim형 고주파 변압기의 최적화 설계를 수행한다. 특히 본 논문에서는 이론적으로 해석하여 얻어진 결과를 토대로 고효율 및 Slim형 고주파 변압기는 교류 권선 손실 최소화 및 권선 자동화를 위하여 인터리브 및 수직형 권선 구조로 구성한다. 본 논문 제안한 수직형 권선 구조 방식의 Slim형 고주파 변압기의 1차측 권선은 Litz 권선을 2차 권선은 PCB와 동판 권선을 사용하였다. 최종적으로 Maxwell 2D 및 3D Tool을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과를 토대로 이론 해석의 정당성을 입증하기 위해서 실험 결과를 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 Slim형 고주파 변압기의 최적화 설계를 수행하였다.

배전급 고온초전도 한류기 절연설계 최적화 연구 (A Study on Optimal Insulation Design of the Distribution Level HTS FCL)

  • In this study, superconducting coil arrangements and cryostat concept design were conducted for the development of 13.2kV/630A bifilar winding type high temperature superconducting(HTS) fault current limiter(FCL) with YBCO coated conductor(CC) wire. The coil consists of several layers with unique non-inductive solenoid winding method. Six types of HTS coil arrangements were investigated for the optimal insulation design of HTS FCL. And, conceptual design of cryostat was conducted for the decrement of thermal invasion and the prevention of low voltage insulation breakdown in the LHe which is used as pressurization gas in sub-cooling condition of liquid nitrogen(LN2). As the results, it was found that the modified suspended type cryostat with horizontal coil arrangement is beneficial to the insulation design of 13.2kV level bifilar winding type HTS FCL.

전기자전거용 BLDC 전동기 설계 및 제어기 개발 (Design of BLDC Motors for an Electric Bicycle and Development of their Controller)

  • The aim of this paper is twofold: The one is to design BLDC motors for an electric bicycle and the other is to develop a controller of the BLDC motors. A new BLDC Motor has a permanent magnet rotor in which the magnetic arrangement is radial to the shaft and integral to the rotor laminations instead of mounted on the perimeter of the rotor. This technique concentrates flux, giving a higher flux density than a surface-mounted PM motor and has the increase of reluctance torque. The stator of BLDC motor has parallel winding instead of interconnected wye-connection winding, allowing multi-phase separate independent controllability. It gets much more high power than wye-connection at same low voltage. The proposed controller has a technique of exited with modulation(EWM) and one H-bridge and two photo sensors per phase. Experimental results show the performance of the proposed BLDC motors for an electric bicycle.

  • In this paper, we propose a new type of tubular linear induction motor(TLIM) with two-dimensional motion. The proposed motor consists of four short primary LIMs arranged on a same circumference and a common secondary. By adopting independently energized ring-windings to the primary, we can expect the reduction of coil-end region and the freedom of alternating current supply. The secondary conductor is capable of producing anyone of rotary, linear, and helical motions by controlling the phase of supply currents in each primary winding. From the 3-D finite element analysis and the experiment, we derive the feeding conditions to increase the subsidiary rotary-force and an optimal arrangement of primary currents to reduce the number of slot.

  • The aim of this paper is to develop a controller of multi-phase bipolar brushless DC (MPB BLDC) motors for an electric bicycle. A MPB BLDC motor has a Permanent magnet rotor in which the magnetic arrangement is radial to the shaft and integral to the rotor laminations. This technique concentrates flux, giving a higher flux density than a surface-mounted PM motor and increases reluctance torque. The stator of MPB BLBC motor has parallel winding, allowing multi-phase separate independent controllability. It gets much more high power than wye-connection at same low voltage. The conventional techniques of exited with modulation(EWM), bidirection control, and partial square wale control are Proposed with one H-bridge and two photo sensors per phase. The Proposed controller is satisfied for the limited speed control and designed for system stability Experimental results show the performance of the proposed controller of MPB BLDC motors for an electric bicycle.

Induction Motor with Adjustable Windings for High Efficiency Drive in Light Load Operation

  • Heavy load start but light load operation is a common case in practical drive applications. When an induction motor is employed for such applications, its rated power is usually chosen according to the heavy load start. Then, during light load operation, its efficiency and power factor are low. To solve this problem, it is proposed to adjust the motor windings from the startup to the normal operation conditions. In this paper, arrangement of the adjustable windings is introduced, air gap field with different windings is investigated, and steady state operation performance under various loads is examined. It can be seen that by using proper winding arrangement both startup and operation performances are satisfactory.

꽃꽂이 작업의 관절가동범위와 근육활성도 측정 및 상지기능 향상을 위한 적용사례 (Measuring Range of Motion and Muscle Activation of Flower Arrangement Tasks and Application for Improving Upper Limb Function)

  • 본 연구는 신체재활을 위해 다양한 꽃꽂이 작업들을 이용하기 위해서 꽃꽂이 작업 시 주로 사용되는 작업들을 분류하고, 각 작업 수행 시 사용되는 상지의 관절가동범위와 근육 활성도를 측정하였다. 또한 꽃꽂이 작업 시 상지의 관절 가동범위와 근육활성도 측정결과를 근거로 뇌졸중 환자의 상지기능 향상을 위한 꽃꽂이 프로그램을 개발하여, 실제 임상현장에서 적용하여 그 효과를 조사하였다. 상지 움직임을 정량적으로 분석하기 위해 주요한 꽃꽂이 작업을 분류한 다음, 작업 분석을 토대로 8가지 꽃꽂이 기본 작업(자르기 1, 굵은 줄기; 자르기 2, 가는 줄기; 꽂기 1, 긴 줄기; 꽂기 2, 짧은 줄기; 말기; 관엽 이용; 휘기 1, 굵은 줄기; 휘기 2, 가는 줄기; 감기, 절화용 와이어 이용)을 재분류하였다. 강원도 소재 대학의 8명의 남학생(평균 연령 $24.1{\pm}2.5$세)들이 8가지 꽃꽂이 작업을 수행하는 동안 삼차원 실시간 동작 분석 시스템과 근 전도 측정기를 이용하여 상지의 관절가동범위와 각 근육부위별 활성도를 각각 측정하였다. 이 측정결과를 토대로 상지기능 향상을 위한 꽃꽃이 프로그램을 개발하여, 서울시 소재 재활병원에 입원한 뇌졸중 환자들을 대상으로 실시하였다. 참여대상자들의 의사에 따라 4명은 원예치료군에 나머지 4명은 작업치료군에 배정되었다. 원예치료는 1일 2회(총 33회기)로 실시되었으며, 프로그램 전과 후에 뇌졸중 환자들의 상지기능 평가를 위해서 관절가동범위와 장악력 및 전반적인 상지기능평가가 수행되었다. 꽃꽂이 작업 수행 시 어깨관절은 자르기 1 작업에서 관절가동범위의 변화가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났고, 팔꿈치 관절은 감기 작업에서, 손목부위 관절은 휘기 1 작업에서 가장 큰 관절가동 범위를 나타냈다(P < 0.001). 수행된 꽃꽂이 작업에 따라 상지 근육의 부위별 근육 활성도는 다양한 변화를 보였으며, 한 가지 작업에 대해 여러 부위의 근육들이 동시에 사용되었다(P < 0.001). 또한 같은 방법으로 수행하는 작업일지라도 재료의 굵기나 길이에 따라 관절가동범위와 근수축의 차이가 나타났다(P < 0.001). 뇌졸중 환자의 상지기능 향상을 위해 실시된 꽃꽂이 작업을 이용한 원예치료 프로그램은 뇌졸중 환자들의 상지(어깨, 팔꿈치, 손목관절)의 가동범위와 장악력 및 전반적인 상지 기능에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 꽃꽂이의 주요 작업을 이용하여 특정 신체부위의 기능향상이 필요한 대상자의 재활치료를 위한 프로그램 개발에 유용한 기초자료를 제시하였다. 추가적으로 실제 재활환자의 상태에 따라 효율적인 맞춤형 원예치료 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효과를 규명하는 연구가 필요할 것이다.

Fabrication and Characteristic Tests of a 1 MVA Single Phase HTS Transformer with Concentrically Arranged Windings

  • A 1 MV A single phase high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer was manufactured and tested. The rated voltages of primary and secondary of the HTS transformer are 22.9 kV and 6.6 kV respectively. BSCCO-2223 HTS tape was used for HTS windings of 1 MV A HTS transformer. In order to reduce AC loss generated in the HTS winding, the type of concentric arrangement winding was adopted to a 1 MV A HTS transformer. Single HTS tape for primary windings and 4 parallel HTS tapes for secondary windings were used considering the each rated current of the HTS transformer. A core of HTS transformer was fabricated as a shell type core made of laminated silicon steel plate. And a GFRP cryostat with a room temperature bore was also manufactured. The characteristic tests of 1 MV A HTS transformer were performed such as no load test, short circuit test and several insulation tests at 65 K using sub-cooled liquid nitrogen. From the results of tests, the validity of design of HTS transformer was ascertained.
