Purpose: To evaluate the dose under lung block as a function of depth and the effectiveness of a block as a function of block width. Materials and Methods : Field size of mantle field was $22.8{\times}32.4cm^2.$ Dose distribution of the mantle field was measured with two dimensional water phantom system. To analyze the effectiveness of the lung block. central axis plane, 5cm off-axis plane, and 10cm off-axis plane were studied. Results: The dose under the lung block was recorded with maximum at the depth between 5cm and 10cm. In the central axis plane, dosimetric block width was $10-15\%$ less than physical block width. In the 5cm off-axis plane, dosimetric block width was $4-9\%$ less than physical block width. In the 10cm off-axis plane, dosimetric block width was $2\%$ less than physical block width. Conclusion: Depth dependence of the dose under the lung block was founded. Also, block width dependence of the lung block was founded. To induce the accurate relation between the physical block width and the 'effective' block width, it needs more detailed understanding of the variables involved.
This research, focused on the curved of the lower body, designated abdomen and hip gradient, crotch depth and crotch width the factors for which are able to influence on the appearence and the function of Divided Skirt and analized the changes when that were applied to a real pattern, and so the purpose of this research is to show the basic documents needed to design a Divided Skirt pattern fitting with the wear purpose and usage. The following are the results of this research. 1. The abdomen and hip gradient turned out as the most influential factor on the appearance and the function of Divided Skirt. The pattern of which the abdomen and hip gradient was designated as vertical zero degree, showed an excellent appearance and in case of function, the pattern of which thw angle of the abdomen and hip gradient of human body type was applied to itself without a particular designation turned out excellent. 2. In case of crotch depth, the pattern which had crotch depth+2㎝, had a better appearance but influced nothing on function. 3. The factor of crotch width didn\`t have any influence on the appearance and function of Divided Skirt. 4. Referring to the results of the above, the Divided Skirt pattern of which the appearance and the function turned excellent, had the angle of abdomen gradient 4 degrees, the angle abdomen gradient 4 degrees, the angle of hip gradient/2+2.5 degrees, crotch depth+2㎝ and crotch width following human body type. In case of Divied Skirt worn when going out, the pattern which had the angle of abdomen and hip gradient vertical zero degree, crotch depth+2㎝ and crotch width following human body type, turned out suitable. Also, the suitable pattern of Divided Skirt for working had the abdomen and hip gradient following human body type, crotch depth+2㎝ and covering girth diameter/2±1㎝.

The width of fuzzy membership function and control rule has an effect on performance of the fuzzy controller for electric equipment systems. In this paper, the neuro-fuzzy controller is proposed to im¬prove the performance of fuzzy controller. It has the width of membership function, that is adapted to the electrical parameter using multi-layer neural network, it is applied to first order electric power system with dead time and various plant constant. The related simulation resolts show that the pro¬posed neuro fuzzy controller are superior characteristics of improved performance
The conductance of a microscopic constriction in a two-dimensional electron gas is obtained as a function of both the constriction width and curvature. When the quantized conductance G at plateaus is given by the channel number Nc times the quantum unit 2e2/h, Nc is found to be a function of not only the width and but also the curvature. At a given W, Nc increases by one whenever the constriction curvature decreases by about a certain value. Until the shape smoothness becomes comparable to the two parallel boundaries, there exist more channels avaliable for conduction in a smaller-curvature constriction than in a larger-curvature one. This result is very interesting because Nc has been considered to depend on the width W only. this reflects that the number of the quantized transverse levels depend o both the constriction width and curvature in a two-dimensional electron gas.
We studied experimentally and theoretically the vertical range of the confined electric field in the gap area of metamaterials, which was analyzed for various gap widths using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. We measured the resonant frequency as a function of the thickness of poly(methyl methacrylate) in the range 0 to 3.2 μm to quantify the effective detection volumes. We found that the effective vertical range of the metamaterial is determined by the size of the gap width. The vertical range was found to decrease as the gap width of the metamaterial decreases, whereas the sensitivity is enhanced as the gap width decreases due to the highly concentrated electric field. Our experimental findings are in good agreement with the finite-difference time-domain simulation results. Finally, a numerical expression was obtained for the vertical range as a function of the gap width. This expression is expected to be very useful for optimizing the sensing efficiency.
A celebrated result in the study of integer partitions is the identity due to Lehmer whereby the number of partitions of n with an even number of even parts minus the number of partitions of n with an odd number of even parts equals the number of partitions of n into distinct odd parts. Inspired by Lehmer's identity, we prove explicit formulas for evaluating generating functions for sequences that enumerate integer partitions of fixed width with an even/odd number of even parts. We introduce a technique for decomposing the even entries of a partition in such a way so as to evaluate, using a finite sum over q-binomial coefficients, the generating function for the sequence of partitions with an even number of even parts of fixed, odd width, and similarly for the other families of fixed-width partitions that we introduce.
The stream morphological characteristics of river basin has a close correlation with the hydrological and hydraulic characteristics of the basin. This study was conducted to suggest a river width formula for medium rivers of central area in Korea. As a result, The following conclusions are made: (1) The model for the stream-width to be applied to the medium rivers of central area in Korea is developed as suggestion model-a function of the design flood discharge-of which the formula is $B=1.532A^{0.644.}$; (2) The model for the stream-sidth to be applied to the medium rivers of central area in Korea is developed as suggestion model-a function of the watershed Area-of which the formula is $B=12.392A^{0.511}$; (3) The model for the stream-width to be applied to the medium rivers of central area in Korea is developed as suggestion model-a function of the stream length of which the formual is $B=10.509l^{0.852}$.
This paper analyzes the characteristics of wide-band one-shot beam formed by using all sensors of array at once, as variation of weighting width. Gaussian function is applied to each sensor as a role of weighting. As the results of the simulation for nested linear array having 17 sensors for each octave, as the width goes wider the directivity index(DI) becomes lower but more even and the variation of beamwidth becomes smaller. It is confirmed, therefore, that weighting width is carefully decided in consideration of DI level, DI stability and the beamwidth.
In case of manufacturing the high quality welds or pipeline, the full penetration weld has to be made along the weld joint. Thus the root pass welding is very important and has to be selected carefully. In this study, an experimental method for the selection of optimal welding condition was proposed in the root pass welding which was done along the V-grooved butt weld joint. This method uses the response surface analysis in which the width and height of back bead were chosen as the quality variables of the weld. The overall desirability function, which is the combined desirability function for the two quality variables, was used as the objective function for getting the optimal welding condition. In the experiments, the target values of the back bead width and the height are 6mm and zero respectively for the V-grooved butt weld joint of 8mm thickness mild steel. The optimal welding conditions could predict the back bead profile(bead width and height) as 6.003mm and -0.003mm. From a series of welding test, it was revealed that a uniform and full penetration weld bead can be obtained by adopting the optimal welding condition which was determined according to the method proposed.

Despite the widespread use in the various manufacturing industries, the full automation of the robotic CO$_2$ welding has not yet been achieved partly because the mathematical model for the process parameters of a given welding task is not fully understood and quantified. Several mathematical models to control welding quality, productivity, microstructure and weld properties in arc welding processes have been studied. However, it is not an easy task to apply them to the various practical situations because the relationship between the process parameters and the bead geometry is non-linear and also they are usually dependent on the specific experimental results. Practically, it is difficult, but important to know how to establish a mathematical model that can predict the result of the actual welding process and how to select the optimum welding condition under a certain constraint. In this paper, an attempt has been made to develop an Radial basis function network model to predict the weld top-bead width as a function of key process parameters in the robotic CO$_2$ welding. and to compare the developed model and a simple neural network model using two different training algorithms in order to verify performance. of the developed model.
