자연수와 분수 연산에 대한 학생들의 이해 분석 (An Analysis of Students' Understanding of Operations with Whole Numbers and Fractions)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate how students understand each operations with whole numbers and fractions, and the relationship between their knowledge of operations with whole numbers and conceptual understanding of operations on fractions. Researchers categorized students' understanding of operations with whole numbers and fractions based on their semantic structure of these operations, and analyzed the relationship between students' understanding of operations with whole numbers and fractions. As the results, some students who understood multiplications with whole numbers as only situations of "equal groups" did not properly conceptualize multiplications of fractions as they interpreted wrongly multiplying two fractions as adding two fractions. On the other hand, some students who understood multiplications with whole numbers as situations of "multiplicative comparison" appropriately conceptualize multiplications of fractions. They naturally constructed knowledge of fractions as they build on their prior knowledge of whole numbers compared to other students. In the case of division, we found that some students who understood divisions with whole numbers as only situations of "sharing" had difficulty in constructing division knowledge of fractions from previous division knowledge of whole numbers.

  • 이 연구는 개정 교육과정에 근거한 초등학교 수학 교과서와 지도서의 자연수 나눗셈 영역에 대한 고찰이다. 교과서와 지도서는 수학을 지도하기 위한 가장 중요한 문서이다. 또한, 장차 초등학교에서 수학을 가르치려는 예비교사들이 교과서와 지도서를 바탕으로 학습하기 때문에 이들에게도 매우 중요한 문건이다. 그러므로 교과서나 지도서에 문제가 없어야 한다. 그러나 자연수 나눗셈과 관련하여 개정 교과서와 지도서에 몇 가지 오류와 개선해야 할 점들이 나타났다. 이 연구에서는 그런 사항들에 대해 논하고 개선점을 제안하였다.

기능적 자기공명영상 사용유무에 따른 확산텐서영상 분석의 유효성 평가 (Evaluation of Quantitative Effectiveness of MR-DTI Analysis with and without Functional MRI)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to evaluate the quantitative effectiveness of region of interest (ROI) setting in MR-DTI analysis with and without fMRI activation results. Methods: Ten right-handed normal volunteers participated in this study. DTI and fMRI datasets for each subject were obtained using a 1.5T MRI system. For neural fiber tracking, ROIs were drawn using two methods: The drawing points were located in the fMRI activation areas or areas randomly selected by users. In this study, the neural fiber tract targeted the corticospinal tract (CST) Quantitative analyses were performed and compared. The pixel numbers passing through the fiber tract in the individual brain volume were counted. The ratios between the ROI pixel numbers and the extracted fiber pixel numbers, and the ratios between the fiber pixel numbers and the whole-brain pixel numbers were also calculated. Results: According to our results, extracted CST fiber tract in which the ROI was drawn with fMRI activation areas showed higher distribution than drawing the ROI by users' hands. In addition, the quantitatively measured values represented higher pixel distribution: The counted average pixel numbers were 4553.8 and 1943.3. The average ratios of the ROI areas were 33.87 and 22.52. The average percentages of the individual whole-brain volume numbers were 2.06 and 0.87. Conclusion: Results of this study appear to indicate that use of this method can allow for more objectives and significant for study of the recovery of neural fiber mechanisms and brain rehabilitation.

범자연수 지도에서 모델 활용에 관한 연구 (An analysis of models and manipulatives for teaching whole number concepts in textbooks)

  • Whole number concept is an important part of mathematics learning. Elementary school students should understand and master whole number concept. Models can help students learn whole number concepts. Realistic Mathematics Education in Netherlands had investigated and developed three different structural models: line model, group model, combination model. These models are related whole number concepts and structures closely and compatible. The purpose of this study is to investigate models related with whole numbers in 7th elementary textbooks. As a result of analyses, we found out some pattern and several problems. On the foundation of the analyses, we discussed the better ways of using models in teaching whole number and the research issues concerning these.

  • Given the importance of algebra in the early grades, this paper analyzed the contents of whole numbers and their operations from the perspectives of generalized arithmetic. In particular, the focus of analysis was given to the properties of 0 and 1, those of operations such as commutativity, associativity, and distributivity, and the relations between operations. As such, this paper analyzed in detail how such properties and relations were introduced and expanded across different grades. It is expected that many issues in this paper will serve basic information to develop instructional materials in a way to fostering students' algebraic thinking in the elementary grades.

  • In this paper, we study the Genoochi-zeta functions which are entire functions in whole complex s-plane these zeta functions have the values of the Genocchi numbers and the Genoochi polynomials at negative integers respectively. That is ${\zeta}_G(1-k)={\frac{G_k}{k}}$ and ${\zeta}_G(1-k,x)={\frac{G_k(x)}{k}}$.

한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국의 초등학교 수학 교과서에 제시된 소수 개념 지도 방안에 대한 비교 분석 (A Comparative Analysis of Decimal Numbers in Elementary Mathematics Textbooks of Korea, Japan, Singapore and The US)

  • 소수를 이해하는 것은 수학 학습뿐만 아니라 일상생활에서도 매우 중요하다. 하지만 정작 학생들은 소수의 의미를 충분히 이해하지 못한 채 계산에 치중하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서 는 학생들의 의미 있는 소수 학습을 돕기 위하여 한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국의 초등학교 수학 교과서에 제시된 소수의 도입 방식 및 소수 개념을 중점적으로 비교 분석하였다. 연구결과, 일본을 제외한 세 나라에서는 소수를 분수의 다른 이름으로 도입하여 분수와의 관련성을 강조하고 있었으며, 등분할 소수와 양 소수의 의미가 주로 제시되고 있어 소수의 다양한 의미를 다루지 못하고 있는 것으로 드러났다. 특히 한국 교과서의 경우 소수 사이의 관계를 도구적으로 다루고 있었으며, 몇 개의 표현만을 반복적으로 사용하였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과에 대한 논의를 바탕으로 본 연구는 초등학교 수학 교과서의 소수 관련 내용의 구성 및 지도 방향에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

배합사료를 혼합한 옥수수-계분 silage의 품질과 사료가치 (Quality and Feed Value of Ensiled Whole Crop Corn with Cage Layer Excreta and Concentrate)

  • This study was carried out to enhance the nutritional value of whole crop corn silage and the utilization of animal waste as a ruminant feedstuffs. Whole crop corn were ensiled with cage layer excreta and concentrate. Treatments included whole crop corn silage (control), 10% cage layer excreta and concentrate-corn silage (CES lo), 20% cage layer excreta and 10% concentrate-corn silage (CES 20) and 30% cage layer excreta and 10% concentrate-corn silage (CES 30). The characteristics of silage fermentation was evaluated. Digestibility and palatability of the silage were observed through the feeding trial with four male Corridale sheep. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Cage layer excreta-corn silage showed higher contents of crude protein and crude ash than control silage, while crude fibre content was significantlv lower than that of control silage (P(.01). 2. Total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen content of the cage layer excreta-corn silage was significantly (P< .01) higher than that of control, but CES 10 silage was good in quality. 3. Lactic acid content of CES 10 silage was the highest, but that of CES 20 and CES 30 silage was lower than that of control. CES 20 and CES 30 silage was lower lactic acid content and higher pH than control. Therefore Flieg's score was wrose than that of control silage. 4. The numbers of total bacteria and lactic fermentation bacteria were estimated lo7-10' and 10"1OH, respectively, and there were no significant differences among treatments. Coliform numbers were not detected with CES 10 silage while were detected lo3 per gram in CES 30 silage. 5. Digestibility of crude protein, crude fibre and ADF was improved significantly in the animals fed the cage layer excreta-corn silage compared with animals fed the control silage. DCP and TDN were the highest in the CES 10 silage. 6. The intake of daily nitrogen and dry matter per metabolic body weight was the highest in animals fed the CES 10 silage.lage.

수학의 내적 연결성을 강조한 5학년 분수 나눗셈과 소수 나눗셈 수업의 실행 연구 (An Action Research on Instruction of Division of Fractions and Division of Decimal Numbers : Focused on Mathematical Connections)

  • 나눗셈의 의미는 수의 범위가 확장되어도 연결된다. 즉, 자연수 범위에 적용되는 나눗셈의 의미는 분수 및 소수를 다루는 유리수 범위로 확장되어도 적용가능하다. 이러한 측면에서 자연수의 나눗셈과 분수의 나눗셈, 소수의 나눗셈을 서로 연결하여 가르치는 것은 수학의 내적 연결성을 통하여 나눗셈을 의미 있게 학습하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 5학년 2학기에 제시되는 분수의 나눗셈과 소수의 나눗셈 단원을 나눗셈의 의미와 절차가 연결되도록 재구성한 뒤 수업을 실행하고 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학생들은 수의 범위가 확장되더라도 나눗셈의 의미를 이해하여 문제를 해결하거나 만들 수 있었다. 또한 문제 해결 과정에서 자연수의 나눗셈, 분수의 나눗셈, 소수의 나눗셈의 원리를 이용할 수 있었다. 단, 일부 학생들의 경우 나눗셈 의미를 이해하지 못하여 잘못된 나눗셈식을 세우거나 문제를 만들었으며, 특정한 해결 절차만을 선호하는 모습도 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 초등학교 전 과정에 제시되는 나눗셈을 연결성을 강조하여 의미 있게 지도 학습할 수 있는 방향을 모색하는데 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

Chromosome numbers and polyploidy events in Korean non-commelinids monocots: A contribution to plant systematics

  • The evolution of chromosome numbers and the karyotype structure is a prominent feature of plant genomes contributing to or at least accompanying plant diversification and eventually leading to speciation. Polyploidy, the multiplication of whole chromosome sets, is widespread and ploidy-level variation is frequent at all taxonomic levels, including species and populations, in angiosperms. Analyses of chromosome numbers and ploidy levels of 252 taxa of Korean non-commelinid monocots indicated that diploids (ca. 44%) and tetraploids (ca. 14%) prevail, with fewer triploids (ca. 6%), pentaploids (ca. 2%), and hexaploids (ca. 4%) being found. The range of genome sizes of the analyzed taxa (0.3-44.5 pg/1C) falls well within that reported in the Plant DNA C-values database (0.061-152.33 pg/1C). Analyses of karyotype features in angiosperm often involve, in addition to chromosome numbers and genome sizes, mapping of selected repetitive DNAs in chromosomes. All of these data when interpreted in a phylogenetic context allow for the addressing of evolutionary questions concerning the large-scale evolution of the genomes as well as the evolution of individual repeat types, especially ribosomal DNAs (5S and 35S rDNAs), and other tandem and dispersed repeats that can be identified in any plant genome at a relatively low cost using next-generation sequencing technologies. The present work investigates chromosome numbers (n or 2n), base chromosome numbers (x), ploidy levels, rDNA loci numbers, and genome size data to gain insight into the incidence, evolution and significance of polyploidy in Korean monocots.
