화이트 칼라소재의 알도즈 환원효소 억제작용 탐색 (Screening of aldose reductase inhibitory activity of white-color natural products)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential of naturally occurring aldose reductase (AR) inhibitors from white-color natural products (Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus, Chionanthus retusa, Cosmos bipinnatus, Hibiscus syriacus, Hydrangea paniculata, Magnolia denudata, Prunus padus, Robinia pseudo-accacia, Rhododendron mucronulatum for. albiflorum, Spiraea blumei, and Spiraea prunifolia var. simpliciflora). The MeOH extract of white-color natural products were tested on rat lens AR inhibition in vitro. Among them, the MeOH extract of R. mucronulatum for. albiflorum showed highest inhibition on AR ($IC_{50}$ value, 1.07 ${\mu}g/ml$). These results suggested that R. mucronulatum for. albiflorum, a white-color natural product, could be a useful resource in the development of a novel AR inhibitory agent against diabetic complications.

Studies on Structure and Color of the White Antheraea pernyi, Silkworm Cocoon

  • Traditional Antheraea pernyi silkworm cocoon is tawny color. The white Antheraea pernyi silkworm cocoons studied here by IR and UV are new breeds of recent breeding. We discovered that the main body of the first grade structure of silk protein in the new white is as same as the one in the traditional tawny Antheraea pernyi silkworm cocoon, yet there are small quantities of cross-linked polymer of gentisic acid and silk protein in the white silkworm cocoons. In spite of the least surviving quantity of the polymer, the white silkworm cocoons are most white and its white color is similar to white Bombyx mori silkworm cocoon.

작약 잎과 줄기의 생리활성 물질 분리 및 동정 (Isolated and Identification of Biological Activity Compounds from Leaves and Stem of Paeonia lactiflora Pallas)

  • 작약의 지상부인 잎과 줄기에서 물질을 분리 동정하기 위해 MeOH 추출 및 column chromatograpy하여 단일 물질 5종을 분리하였으며, 분리한 물질에 대하여 IR, UV, Mass, NMR 등을 이용하여 화학구조를 동정하였다. 그 결과 oleanolic acid, kaempferol, methyl gallate, astragalin, paeoniflorin의 구조가 확인되었으며 이들 화합물은 작약의 지상부인 잎과 줄기에서는 처음으로 분리되었다.

  • 2005년도 6월에서 8월 사이에 경상북도농업기술원 신물질연구소의 약용식물시험재배포장에서 재배하는 약모밀에서 줄기와 지제부가 수침상으로 물러지고 썩으면서 암갈색으로 변하는 증상이 발생하였고, 병반부와 지제부 주위의 토양에 흰색의 곰팡이가 생기고 시간이 경과함에 따라 갈색의 둥글고 부정형의 균핵이 형성되었다. 병원균을 순수 분리하여 감자한천 배지(PDA)에서 배양학적 형태적 특성을 조사한 결과 병원균의 생육적온은 $28{\sim}30^{\circ}C$ 이었으며, PDA에서 생육중인 균사의 폭은 $3.0{\sim}9.0{\mu}m$이었고, 형성된 균핵의 크기는 $1.0{\sim}2.5mm$이었으며, 균사 특유의 clamp connection 형태가 현미경하에서 관찰되었다. 병원성 실험결과 병원성이 인정되었다. 이상과 같이 병징과 균학적 특징 및 병원성을 검정한 결과, 이 병을 Sclerotium rolfsii에 의한 약모밀 흰비단병으로 명명하고자 한다.

표고버섯가루를 활용한 식빵의 제품개발에 관한 연구 (A study on baking white Bread product development according to the amounts of mushroom powder added)

  • By adding mushroom powder in baking white bread all the edible ingredients and numerous effectiveness of green tea can be consumed completely and the beautiful natural colors of green tea can result the variety of colors of cookies and breads. In this thesis, I used sensory evaluation and mechanical test to decide the appropriate amount of mushroom powder added in baking white bread among the ratios of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% of mushroom powder relative to flour. I find the followings. In sensory evaluation. the color of white bread resulted from the addition of mushroom powder was most attractive in The 3% mixtures tasted most salty and other than this mixtures made no differences in salty tastes. The 3% mixture tasted most sweet and the same mixture resulted best in astringent taste. On the other hand, the overall test agreed almost with the sensory tests and there were some significant differences when p< 0.05. In summing up the above findings of our investigations, the 3% mixture of mushroom powder produces the best white Bread.

친환경패션에 나타난 디자인적 요소의 특성 -선행연구의 내용분석을 중심으로- (Characteristics of Design Elements in Environment-Friendly Fashion -Focus on the Content Analysis of Previous Literature-)

  • In the current fashion design, the 'environmental friendliness' affects the practically and conceptuality in all industry and culture sectors. This study seeks to examine specific design elements as the content of design factors in environment oriented fashion. The subjects of this paper are studied through scholarly journals that are confined to those from 1990 (when naturalism and ecology trends started to be in fashion) to February 2009. This study used 'Naturalism', 'Green', 'Environment-friendly', 'Eco', 'Sustainable', 'Well-being' and 'Lohas' as key words for the literature search. The analysis is performed through a content analysis and the unit of analysis is based upon the adjectives, nouns, and phrases related to the content of the design elements such as line, color, and textiles. In the results, more expression is natural, minimal, transformable, and sportive style in line, YR, white, soft, pale, and dull tone in color. The prominent textiles and texture were natural fabrics, environment-friendly fabrics, recycled fabrics, natural dyeing, functional finishes, rustic surfaces, flexibility, and extensibility. The results of this paper will help in future fashion design product development for environment-friendly fashion brands.

Inhibition of Experimental Gastric Ulcer by Potato Tubers and the Starch

  • In an attempt to establish anti-ulcerogenic activity of potato tubers, inhibitory activity against ethanol- and indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer models in rats was evaluated for the first time. From several varieties of potato tubers including Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Superior (white skin and fresh potato) and two new varieties of (Bora valley and Gogu valley), raw potato juice was prepared and the starch was obtained from each juice by filtration and drying. Upon oral administration to rats, raw potato juice showed more or less inhibitory activity. The starch showed higher and dose-dependent inhibitory activity, suggesting that the active ingredient in raw potato juice may be the starch. Particularly, the starch obtained from the tubers of new potato variety, "Bora valley," with purple color, showed the highest inhibitory activity (62.4% and 37.1% inhibition of ulcer index at 500 mg/kg), while omeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) used as a reference drug showed 74.4% and 75.7% inhibition at 20 mg/kg against ethanol- and indomethacin-induced ulcer formation, respectively. The present study provides a first evidence of anti-ulcerogenicity of raw potato juice and the starch. Especially, the starch from "Bora valley" strongly inhibited ulcer formation in rats. Considering that these are food components, they may be safely used for anti-ulcerogenic nutraceuticals.

Acceptance Level of Forecasted Fashion Trends by National Brand Casual Wear in the Late of 1990s

  • The purpose of the present study was to analyze the acceptance level of forecasted information of casual wear in tate 1990s in Korea and the way of utilizing fashion trends information by casual wear industries. The Present study was implemented by content analysis and descriptive survey using questionnaire and interview. Trends information in fashion journals published by fashion institute and articles in daily newspapers were analyzed in terms of fashion image, color, fabric, and silhouette. The data collected from questionnaire and interview with 113 fashion specialists were analyzed through frequency, percentage. The results indicated that among the forecasted information regarding fashion image, romantic and feminine images showed a high level of acceptance to national brand women's casual wear in the late 1990s, while mannish image showed a low level of acceptance. For men's casual wear in the same time period, androgynous trends appeared most frequently, not only in forecasted information, but also in actual trend. it was forecasted that yellow, white, and gray would be in trend and those colors appeared frequently in actual trend. On the other hand pastel tone appeared much more frequently than forecasted. Natural, thin - transparent (S/S) and stretch fabrics (F/W) were in actual trend as it was forecasted. Fit and Pare (woman), and long and slim (man) silhouettes were in actual trend as if was forecasted, but barrel silhouette appeared only in forecasted information. Most of the information forecasting fashion trends for next season were applied to the product planning of the season, right after the information comes out.

천연소재를 활용한 백내장의 저장성 증진 연구 (Study on the storage stability of the white internal organs using natural materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 천연 항산화 소재인 인진쑥, 백년초, 오미자 및 삼백초 추출물을 첨가하여 백내장의 저장성을 증진시키기 위하여 연구를 진행 하였다. 천연 항산화 소재들을 추출 후 추출수율 및 항산화 활성을 알아보고, 돈육 백내장에 항산화 소재들을 첨가하여 색도, pH, VBN 및 TBARS를 조사하였다. 그 결과 DPPH, superoxide anion radical, nitrate 소거능 및 추출 수율에서 인진쑥과 백년초 추출물이 높은 항산화 활성을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 이러한 결과를 토대로 추출물을 백내장에 적용하여 저장기간 동안(1, 3, 5, 7일) 이화학적 특성 및 미생물 검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 명도에서는 각 처리구에 따른 유의차를 보이지 않았으나(p>0.05), 처리구들의 황색도는 감소하고 적색도는 증가하는 양상을 보였다(p<0.05). pH는 오미자를 첨가한 백내장 처리구가 비타민 C 처리군과 함께 가장 낮은 결과값을 보였으며, VBN은 처리구가 대조구에 비해 낮은 값을 나타내었다(p<0.05). TBARS 측정 결과, 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 증가하였으며 대조구에 비해 처리구들이 모두 낮은 수치를 나타내었다. 미생물학적 변화는 처리구 모두 대조구보다 낮은 일반세균수를 보였으며, 인진쑥 처리구는 대장균군 및 대장균 또한 검출되지 않아 높은 항균활성을 가진 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 실험에 사용된 항산화 활성을 가지는 식물성 추출물이 돈육 부산물에 천연 항산화제로 작용하여 지방 산화를 억제하였으며, 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 돈육 부산물의 저장 시 천연 식물성 추출물을 첨가한다면 저장성 증진이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

청송심씨 묘에서 출토된 금직물의 비파괴 과학적 분석 (Non-Destructive Scientific Analysis of the Gold Fabric Excavated of Cheongsong Shim's Grave)

  • 본 연구에서는 청송심씨묘 출토 금직물 유물 2점(부금 원삼, 직금 치마)에 대한 비파괴 분석방법을 이용하여 유물 상태, 섬유 재질, 표면 오구(汚垢), 금속사에 대한 재료적 특성을 파악하였다. 출토 당시 유물의 상태는 모두 갈변되어 본래의 색상을 확인할 수 없으며, 섬유재질은 SEM과 FT-IR의 Amide I, II, III, IV 피크와 정색 반응 결과들로 누에고치로부터 얻은 견 섬유임을 확인할 수 있었다. 표면 오염물인 흰색 오구와 검정색 오구는 FT-IR, XRF 분석결과 시신의 부패와 미생물 분해로 나타난 지방질, 단백질 등의 가수분해 물질임을 확인할 수 있었다. 금속사의 금박층을 XRF로 분석한 결과 금(Au)으로 확인되었으며, 금속사 배지에 대한 FT-IR, 정색 반응 결과 배지의 접착제 성분은 Amide I, II, III와 3000 cm-1 전·후의 Amide A, B의 결과로 동물성 교(膠)로 확인되었고, 배지는 정색 반응 결과 국내에서 생산된 닥나무 인피 섬유인 한지로 확인할 수 있었다.
