Objectives : Electronic moxibustion was developed to overcome the weakness of conventional moxibution. However, in spite of many benefits, it also can not be entirely free from the concern of burning. This study was performed to investigate the proper treatment time of electronic moxibustion. Methods : Male sprague-Dawley rats weighing about 350 g were used. Animals were anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital and shaved on the abdomen or back. The full charged-electronic moxibustion device was placed on the shaved site and it was observed if there happened any adverse event after treatment. Results : At the temperatures of 41, 43, and $45^{\circ}C$ there was no abnormal sign after moxibustion even in full time. However, at $47^{\circ}C$, the safe treatment time was 3 min. On the other hand, $49^{\circ}C$ produced diverse adverse events even in 1 min. Conclusions : Results of the present study suggest that the safe treatment time of electronic moxibustion is different according to the temperature. The most common adverse effect in this electronic moxibustion was the white spot and it is needed to observe whether there is any adverse event until 48 h after treatment.
Due to the lack of an accretion disk in a polar (magnetic cataclysmic variable, MCV), the material transferred from the secondary is directly accreted onto the white dwarf, forming an accretion stream and a hot spot on the white-dwarf component. During the eclipses, different light components can be isolated. Therefore, the monitoring of eclipsing polars could provide valuable information on several modern astrophysical problems, e.g., CVs as planetary hosting stars, mass transfer and mass accretion in CVs, and the magnetic activity of the most rapidly rotating cool dwarfs. In the past five years, we have monitored about 10 eclipsing polars (e.g., DP Leo and HU Aqr) using several 2-m class telescopes and about 100 eclipse profiles were obtained. In this paper, we will introduce the progress of our research group at YNOs. The first direct evidence of variable mass transfer in a CV is obtained and we show that it is the dark-spot activity that causes the mass transfer in CVs. Magnetic activity cycles of the cool secondary were detected and we show that the variable mass transfer is not caused by magnetic activity cycles. These results will shed light on the structure and evolution of close binary stars (e.g., CVs and Algols).
Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in color perception among Sasang Constitution in "The dress" which has been arousing controversy whether its color is blue/black or white/gold. Methods 85 participants classified as Sasang Constitution were asked to answer three questions about "The dress". They were asked firstly the overall colors of the dress, secondly the colors of the specific parts of it, thirdly color ranges they perceived as gold, white, blue, black, respectively. These process were run twice. Results and Conclusions The overall colors of the dress were perceived as blue/black more than white/gold, regardless of Sasang Constitution. And also the ratio between blue/black and white/gold were not significantly different among Sasang Constitution. But when a specific part(spot ii) shown, Soyangin perceived its color as blue more than Taeeumin in the first process. In the case of color range, Soyangin perceived range of black wider than Taeeumin in the second process.

Pulsation variance technique is blended the bumpy popple-sonance status of the brilliant-disparity understanding level (BDUL) on pulsation understanding gestalt. The understanding level condition by the pulsation understanding gestalt system is composed with the popple-sonance system. As to look for a two-node white-small dot of the brilliant situation, we are to take of the pulsation value with two-node white-small dot by the output signal. The concept of understanding level is composed the reference of brilliant-disparity level for variance signal by the pulsation sonance gestalt. Moreover indicating a bumpy variance of the BDUL of the maximum-minimum in terms of the popple-sonance gestalt, and pulsation two-node white-small dot sonance that was the a pulsation value of the far variance of the Pul-ug-FA-${\pi}_{MAX}$-MIN with $23.24{\pm}3.36units$, that was the a pulsation value of the convenient variance of the Pul-ug-CO-${\pi}_{MAX}$-MIN with $7.97{\pm}1.60units$, that was the a pulsation value of the flank variance of the Pul-ug-FL-${\pi}_{MAX}$-MIN with $3.02{\pm}0.47units$, that was the a pulsation value of the vicinage variance of the Pul-ug-VI-${\pi}_{MAX}$-MIN with $0.50{\pm}(-0.01)units$. The popple sonance will be to evaluate at the bumpy ability of the popple-sonance gestalt with two-node white-small dot by the pulsation understanding level on the BDUL that is indicated the brilliant-disparity gestalt by the understanding level system. We will be possible to suppress of a gestalt by the special signal and to utilize a pulsation data of popple sonance level by the popple understanding system.
An abattoir survey of pneumonia and other lesions in slaughtered pigs from 5 selected herds located In the Western Kyongbuk was carried out during the period from March to December 1995. Pneumonic lungs was attempted bacteriological finding and antibiotic susceptibilities. From 583 slaughtered pigs, 445(76.3%) case was pneumonic lungs, seasonal patterns were Winter, Spring, Autumn, Summer in the order named. Among them, 127(21.8%) case was mycopla-sma pneumonia and 65(11.2%) case was pleuropneumonia. In snout lesion grade from 337 slaughtered pigs, above grade II score was 107(31.8%). In the white spot of liver, grade I was 544(93.3%), grade II32(5.5%) and grade III 7(1.2%). In the gastric ulcer, normal was 350(60.0%), grade I168(28.8%), grade II59(10.1%) and grade III 6(1.1%). Among the pigs(n=271) with pneumonic lesions above 20%, 162 strains werr isolated from 87(32.1%) pigs. The bacteria isolated from pneumonic lesions was Pasteurella sp 61(37.7%), Streptococcus sp 31(19.1%), Actinobacillus sp 3(1.9%), Coliform bacteria 19(11.7%) and the other bacteria 48(29.6%) These isolates were highly susceptible to the antibiotics including ENR 142(87.7%), Cft 138(85.2%) and Cf 126(77.8%).
The aim of the present study was to describe an safe and convenient method for the early detection of enamel caries using laser fluorescence. Fluorescence from natually carious lesion of human teeth illuminated by an argon laser(488nm) was observed and photographed using barrier filter. Intact enamel was found to fluorescence with a yellowish light. Whereas, incipient caries lesions in the enamel were dearly visible as dark areas in contrast to the fluorescence surroundings. For evaluation of accuracy of this method, lesion depth measured by the laser fluorescence in light microscope was compared with that polarizing microscope. The results from the present study can be summarized as follows : 1. Enamel caries of smooth surface was observed as pale white spot and undefined outline in ordinary light. Whereas, lesion was clearly visible as dark spot in laser fluorescence. 2. There was no difference between ordinary light view and laser fluorescence in occlusal surface and interproximal surface. 3. There was no significant difference between the lesion depth observed by laser fluorescence with light microscope and polarizing microscope. Apparent correlation exists between two groups.
In the survey from 1992 to 2000, twenty-eight parasitic diseases were observed in major apple producing areas in Korea. The predominant apple diseases were white rot(Botryosphaeria dothidea), Marssonina blotch(Marssonina mali), Valsa canker(Valsa ceratosperma), Alternaria leaf spot(Alternaria mali), and bitter rot(Collectotrichum gloeosporioides and C. acutatum). Apple scab that reappeared in 1990 after disappearance for 15 years was disappeared again since 1997. A viroid disease(caused by apple scar skin viroid) was newly found in this survey. The five diseases, fire blight(Erwinia amylovora), black rot(Botryosphaeria obtusa), scab(Cladosporium carpophilum), Monochaetia twig blight(Monochaetia sp.), and brown leaf spot(Hendersonia mali), which had once described in 1928 but no further reports on their occurrence, were not found in this survey. However, blossom blight(Monilinia mali), brown rot(Monilinia fructigena), and pink rot(Trichothecium roseum), which did not occur on apple after mid 1970s, were found in this survey.
We studied optical simulation method for ultra slim backlight system. We designed 0.7mm thickness light guide plate and combined 48 white color LEDs for 12 inch wide size TFT-LCD. We designed flat shape PMMA light guide plate with both side patterned. It have vertical prism shape on upper side and ellipse dot pattern on the other side. We targeted 4500 nit brightness and uniform emission characteristic without hot spot or dark area. At first, we designed uniform emission area with more high brightness in center area and then, debugged light entering hot spot zone and direction of outgoing light flux. Although it was designing step, we obtained good result with reverse prism optical sheet and it had good repeatability because it was based on the stamper method in injection process without laser engraving or micro groove engraving method.
Six species in five families of Lepidoptera were newly recorded from Korea. The adult specimens of these six species were obtained during the rearing caterpillars collected across Korea. Agonopterix omelkoi Lvovsky (Depresariidae) can be distinguished by the ochreous forewing with a dark brown slanted line, a dark brown triangular spot, and a blackish discal dot, and the whitish hindwing. Dichomeris ferruginosa Meyrick (Gelechiidae) can be diagnosed by the light brown forewing with two relatively large blackish dots and suffusion of dark brown along the dorsum and subtermen, and the grayish hindwing. Pseudohedya satoi Kawabe (Tortricidae) can be diagnosed by the dark ochreous forewing with several medially curved dark ochreous medial lines, and the large light grayish tornal marking, and the dark grayish hindwing. Rhodoneura hyphaema (West) (Thyrididae) can be diagnosed by the reddish forewing with a relatively thick postmedial band, and the reddish hindwing with a narrow dark reddish straight medial band. Comibaena subprocumbaria (Oberthür) (Geometridae) can be diagnosed by the greenish forewing with a whitish apical marking that bordered with a brownish or dark reddish line that connected to the termen, and the distal abdominal segments with whitish and dark reddish dots. Perixera absconditaria (Walker) (Geometridae) can be diagnosed by the light brownish forewing with a relatively thick, slanted, dentate brownish postmedial line, and the light brownish hindwing with a small white discal spot. We provide the diagnosis and figures of adults and larvae, and DNA barcoding data.
