  • In this paper, The vehicle's path construction method for motorized wheelchair's autonomous navigation in a building through analysis of a corridor image using vision system has been proposed and We detected lines of vertical axis through camera distortion parameter, which was measured by camera calibration in a corridor image. Then we got the feature points in the lines. We analyzed the distance of feature points and what is feature points. we reconstructed corridor image to vehicle's path.

  • In this study, Fuzzy control algorithm to generate a change of rocomotion condition according to an outer environment is introduced on a motorized wheelchair control. An optimal control rule for conquesting the less of safety and system Inefficiency in the past are given to this motorized wheelchair. And dynamic analysis Is also adopted to it. Using those rules, a proportional control was possible when the vehicle changed Its moving direction. The proposed method which considers the relationship between a moving velocity and the command from the joystick shows better performance in the change of moving direction.

  • In this paper, we report a self-balancing robot wheelchair which has the capability of keeping upright posture regardless of the terrain inclination in terms of the three dimensional balancing motion. It has the mobility of five degrees of freedom, where pitching, yawing, and forward motions are generated by the two-wheeled inverted pendulum mechanism and the rolling and vertical motions are implemented by the movement of the tilting mechanism. Several design considerations are suggested for the sliding type vehicle body, wheel actuator module, tilting actuator module, power and control system, and the riding module.

  • The electric wheelchair is the vehicle system to support the elderly, infirm, and disabled person. Most of the electric wheelchair is used the encoder sensor for controlling the posture, and the encoder generates the defects caused by frequent mechanical friction. To improve the problem, we have designed the electric wheelchair base on triple acceleration sensor, and implemented. And its performance was evaluated through experiments.

  • This research is to anticipate problems of Ray's disabled experiment welfare vehicles for 17 drivers with disability, improving them. In addition it is to provide the criteria for ergonomic design based on perspective of drivers with disability by investigating 18 items of usability test. The results are as follows. First, satisfaction degree of Ray, disabled experiment welfare vehicle, was shown to be 3.88 which is higher than normal vehicles whose degree is 3.20. This showed that the disabled experiment welfare vehicle is the one with much improvement. Second, so as to develop a welfare vehicle it needs to take into account some factors including rear slope, wheelchair locker, seat belt, safety grip, and high roof. Third, in case of rear slope, high roof and width of manual or automatic wheel chairs should be considered and motor-operated device should also be taken into account for safety lockers, which make a wheelchair firmly fixed. Moreover, motor-operated seat and rear slope can be chosen for either of the disabled and the elderly.

  • It is a research study to look at the satisfaction of disabled persons are using a specific transportation system, and displays to see what effect the quality of life and the acceptance of disability. The survey of disabled persons in a moving vehicle assistance support Jeju vulnerable road users, using the final 81. Analysis, STS reason to use that vehicle wheelchair lift is the most common response, STS safety-related satisfaction was highest in the wheelchair. However, satisfaction of convenience associated with the use of the procedure was the lowest. The more stable satisfaction of STS is high, a positive impact on the quality of life(satisfaction and the food, clothing and housing)was confirmed. Therefore, in order to increase the satisfaction of STS and to improve the quality of life, it is necessary to improve the utilization procedures and safe operations and additional support of the wheelchair lift car to ensure rights of mobility.

  • This paper deals with method to measure the user's driving-will force and to control the power-assisted wheelchair. To solve this problem, we extract the user's driving-will by using the mathematical motor model. And then, we get the linear and angular velocity at the center of the vehicle. Wheel velocities are also measured from center velocity. Finally, power-assisted electric wheelchairs are controlled by these data. Here all processes are verified by simulation.

  • In this paper. a way to analysis a corridor scene for a vehicle's automatic locomotion is presented In general, it's necessary for a vision system of vehicles to identify its positions in given environments. The suggested algorithm is to decide base lines of a corridor image using the vanishing point finding. Feature points are extracted on the base line using a base line extraction tree. This algorithm is suitable for a motorized wheelchair's self locomotion in a building.

  • Some local government, community rehabilitation center, special school operate buses which can be used by wheel chair user in order to commute. However, there are no regulations or laws for safety management of buses and its wheel chair lifts. To prevent discrimination among the physically challenged people, government of Korea plan to supply buses which wheel chair users are able to on board. Safety management system should be prepared to ensure safe and convenient use of express and intercity buses for wheel chair users. In this study, domestic and international standards and regulations of wheel chair lift are thoroughly reviewed and based on this research, national safety standards for wheelchair lift are suggested for the future.
