Soil-cement mixtures involve problems in it's durability in grain size distribution and mineral composition of the used soils as well as in cement content, compaction energy, molding water content, and curing. As an attempt to solve the problems associated with durability of weathered granite soil with cement treated was investigated by conducting tests such as unconfined compression test, it's moisture, immers, wet-dry and freeze-thaw curing, mesurement of loss of weight with wet-dry and freeze-thaw by KS F criteria and CBR test with moisture curing on the five soil samples different in weathering and mineral composition. The experimental results are summarized as follows; The unconfined compressive strength was higher in moisture curing rather than in the immers and wet-dry, while it was lowest in freeze-thaw. Decreasing ratio of unconfined compressive strength in soil-cement mixtures were lowest in optimum moisture content or in the dry side rather than optimum moisture content with freeze-thaw. The highly significant ceofficient was obtained between the cement content and loss of weight with freeze-thaw and wet-dry. It was possible to obtain the durability of soil-cement mixtures, as the materials of base for roads, containing above 4 % of cement content, above 3Okg/cm$_2$ of unconfined compressive trength with seven days moisture curing or 12 cycle of freeze-thaw after it, above 100% of relative unconfined compressive strength, 80% of index of resistance, below 14% of loss of weight with 12 cycle of wet-dry and above 1. 80g/cm$_2$ of dry density.
This study was conducted to optimize the formulation conditions of the immediate-release layer of carvedilol in the development of a two-layer tablet formulation for carvedilol and ivabradine. Using a 24+3 full-factorial design of experiments, excipients (microcrystalline cellulose, citric acid, and crospovidone) of the carvedilol immediate-release layer (wet granulation part) and process parameters for the tablet compression process (main compression) were optimized, and seven types of each dependent variable (assay, content uniformity, hardness, friability, disintegration, and dissolution [pH 1.2 and 6.8]) were evaluated using design expert software. The analysis of variance results confirmed that the main compression has a significant effect on hardness, friability, and disintegration time and that microcrystalline cellulose has a major effect on friability and dissolution. In addition, it was confirmed that citric acid has a significant effect on friability. Crospovidone affects friability and dissolution. According to the design space from the design of the experiment results, the optimized range is microcrystalline cellulose (~18.0-32.0 mg), citric acid (~0.5-12 mg), and main compression (~615-837 kgf). Consequently, this study confirmed the availability of manufacturing the carvedilol immediate-release layer in which all risk factors evaluated in the initial risk assessment are removed.
In this study, forming of carbon composite parts was performed using an injection/compression molding process. An impregnation of matrix is determined by ability of wet and flow rate between the matrix and reinforcement. The flow rate of matrix passing through the reinforcements is a function of permeability of reinforcement, a viscosity of matrix and pressure gradient on molding, and the viscosity of the matrix depends on the mold temperature, molding pressure and shear strain of matrix. Therefore, compression molding experiment was conducted using a heating mold in order to confirm the possibility of matrix impregnation. The impregnation of the matrix through the porosities between the woven yarns was confirmed by the cross-sectional SEM image of compression molded parts. An injection molding process was also performed at a short cycle time, high molding pressure and low mold temperature than those of compression experiment conditions. Deterioration of impregnation on the surface of molded parts were caused by these injection conditions and it could be the reason of decreasing the maximum tensile strength. In order to improve impregnation of matrix on the surface, injection/compression molding and insert-over molding were applied. As a result of applying injection/compression molding and insert-over molding, it was shown that the improvement of impregnation on the surface and the maximum tensile strength was increased about 2.8 times than the virgin matrix.

Electromagnetic shielding sheet using the carbon and wood fiber mixture was manufactured in an effort to develop an electromagnetic shielding packaging material. Carbon fibers were cut into 5, 10, and 15 mm using the automatic cutting device and blown and dispersed using compression air passed through the fine nozzle. Then carbon fibers were slurried with water (0.1% consistency), and softwood kraft pulp along with cone starch were added. The wet mats were manufactured by dewatering in modified hand-sheet machine. The wet mats were pressed upto $4kgf/cm^2$ in the carbon and wood fiber mixture mat press. The wet mats were dried in the automatic controlled plate dryer. Investigation on the formation and surface structure of the newly developed carbon and wood fiber mixture electromagnetic shielding sheet were carried out using the scanning electron microscopy and the image analyzer. Finally electromagnetic shielding characteristics of the newly developed carbon and wood mixture sheet were measured using net-work analyser. The result was promising in the light of the fact that this method could open a new way to substitute the expensive imported electromagnetic shielding sheet.
Hydrogen has emerged as an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. However, the utilization of hydrogen requires high-pressure compression, storage, and transportation, which poses challenges to the durability of compressor components, particularly the diaphragm. This study aims to improve the durability of 304 stainless steel diaphragms in hydrogen compressors by optimizing their surface roughness and corrosion resistance through wet etching. The specimens were prepared by immersing 304 stainless steel in a mixture of sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide, followed by etching in hydrochloric acid for various durations. The surface morphology, roughness, and wettability of the etched specimens were characterized using optical microscopy, surface profilometry, and water contact angle measurements. The friction and wear characteristics were evaluated using reciprocating sliding tests. The results showed that increasing the etching time led to the development of micro/nanostructures on the surface, thereby increasing surface roughness and hydrophilicity. The friction coefficient initially decreased with increasing surface roughness owing to the reduced contact area but increased during long-term wear owing to the destruction and delamination of surface protrusions. HCl-30M exhibited the lowest average friction coefficient and a balance between the surface roughness and oxide film formation, resulting in improved wear resistance. These findings highlight the importance of controlling the surface roughness and oxide film formation through etching optimization to obtain a uniform and wear-resistant surface for the enhanced durability of 304 stainless steel diaphragms in hydrogen compressors.
Matrix tablets of nifedipine (NP) were prepared with Eudragit, diluent (lactose or Ca. phosphate) and Mg. stearate employing two different preparation methods (wet granulation and direct compression) to develop its sustained-release dosage forms. The effects of various formulation factors on the dissolution rate of the drug were investigated. Dissolution test was studied in pH 6.8 phosphate buffer containing 1% sodium lauryl sulfate using the paddle method. Formulation factors were the type and content of Eudragit, the type of diluent and the tablet preparation method. The optimum formula of NP matrix tablet, which resulted in a similar dissolution profile to that from Adalat Oros used as a reference, was 30 mg NP, 10% Eudragit RS, 2% Mg. stearate and an adequate quantity of lactose to yield 500 mg weight using the wet granulation method.

To estimate the effects of lime and cement on the surplus soil, the engineering properties of the marine deposited clay and the fresh water clay were analyzed. The specimen were prepared under several curing conditions, namely, underwater curing, wet condition curing and underwater curing after heating. Unconfined compression strength were estimated after 7, 14, 28 and 60 days, respectively. The strength were steeply increased with time until first 14 days. Specially the increase of the strength of the heated soil were large.

In this study, the fracture strength for fracture mechanism porous calcium phosphate made from sintered with ${\beta}$-tricalcium phosphate obtained by wet precipitation procedure is analyzed using finite element method and experiment measurement. First, three $3{\times}3{\times}3mm^3$ and $5{\times}5{\times}5mm^3$ specimens are prepared and tomographic images of one $5{\times}5{\times}5mm^3$ specimen are obtained by micro focus X-ray CT. The compression tests using the specimens are carried out to measure the elastic modulus and fracture strength to analyze the fracture mechanism of porous calcium phosphate specimen. The tomographic images are reconstructed by 3D reconstruction program. The finite elements are directly built up in the reconstructed specimen. The numerical simulation for the compression tests is performed using the element. The mechanism of calcium phosphate of simulation are obtained by the compression tests using there cylindric specimen of height 19.5 mm and diameter 10 mm. From the results, the applicability of porous calcium phosphate is evaluated to care fracture and vacant bone of a patient as the reinforcement material.

It is the buckling of the compression portions of the deckplate that govern its behaviour under wet concrete construction loading. The size and position of intermediate stiffeners in the compression flanges of thin-plate steel decks exert a strong influence on the dominant buckling mode of the flange. Test sections composed of high-strength steel were brake pressed with a variety of Flat-hat intermediate stiffeners in the compression flange forming a progression from small to large stiffeners. The ABAQUS program to determine the effectiveness of intermediate stiffeners in controlling buckling modes is undertaken. A series of specimens are loaded with simple beam. Various buckling wave forms prior to ultimate failure through a plastic collapse mechanism. The experimentally determined buckling stresses are found to be comparable with studies performed using the ABAQUS program analysis and using each country code.
