새로운 개념의 Tailored Blank 레이저 용접성 경가 방법에 관한 연구 (New Concept in Evaluation of Laser Tailored Blank weldability)

  • This study introduces the new concept in the evaluation criteria of the $CO_2$ laser Tailored Blank weldability, The materials used are 0.7mm, 1.5mm thick low carbon automotive galvanized steels. Welding tests were conducted for both similar thickness(0.7mm-0.7mm, 1.5mm-1.5mm) and dissimilar thickness(0.7mm-1.5mm) cases. The criteria developed for optimum welding conditions were based on relationship between results of die press forming test, weld transverse tensile test Erichsen test and weld penetration measurements. Application of the developed criteria(fracture ratio, strength ratio and D/To) in obtaining optimum welding condition revealed that a weld which satisfied any of the criteria did not fracture during actual die press test.

  • Porthole die extrusion has a great advantage in the forming of long hollow section tubes. It is difficult to produce long hollow section tubes with complicated section by the conventional extrusion process with a mandrel on the stem Because of the limit of the length of mandrel and the complexity of cross section. Porthole die extrusion is affected by many parameters, such as extrusion ratio, extrusion speed, die geometry, porthole number, bearing length etc. Up to now, most of studies about porthole die extrusion have been investigated by experiments or steady state FE-analysis. However, in this paper, porthole die extrusion is analysed by the unsteady state 3D FE-simulation. And the result of unsteady state analysis is compared with the experimental result. Also, the surface state of extruded tubes are examined for the various process conditions.

  • Recently, multi cell tube which is used for a cooling system of automobiles is mainly manufactured by the conform extrusion but this method is inferior as compared with direct extrusion in productivity per the unit time and in the equipment investment. Therefore, it is essential for the conversion of direct extrusion with porthole die. The direct extrusion with porthole die can produce multi cell tube which has the competitive power in costs and qualities compared with the existing conform extrusion. This study is designed to evaluate metal flow, welding pressure, extrusion load, tendency of mandrel deflection that is affected by variation of porthole shape in porthole die. Estimation is carried out using finite element method under the non-steady state. Also this study was examined into the cause of mandrel fracture through investigating elastic deformation of mandrel during the extrusion.

  • Condenser tube has been used as a component of heat exchanger in automobile and air conditioning apparatus. In this paper, porthole die extrusion that is advantageous to form long hollow section tube is analyzed by direct extrusion of condenser tube with 12 holes. A study on extrusion process is performed through the 3D FE simulation at non-steady state and extrusion experiments. Especially, weldability, extrusion load and die defects were estimated try FE-simulation. This study present the redesigned die of direct extrusion in consideration of the results obtained from FE-analysis.

  • Air gun has been one of the good tools to press two sheet metals. However, it is not easy to control the acting force precisely. A Servo-gun is a good tool to control the acting force on the workpiece comparing with the air gun. Servo-gun has a higher tensile shear strength and lower indentation depth as well as smaller spatter. Dynamic resistance was obtained according to the acting force and welding current. As the acting force was changed during welding, the welding quality was increased.

  • Hot shear-welding is a process of bonding two plates together by using shearing stress in a controlled manner. This study dealt with the hot shear-welding process of two aluminum plates. These two plates were piles up in the shear-welding mold. Due to the shearing stress, these two plates were cut off longitudinally, and meantime they were welded together. During this process the control of the surplus material flow is very important, and it can be realized by designing the overlapping length and the shape of the cavity. The commercial software Deform-3D was employed to predict the effect of these two factors. The overlapping length and the shape of the cavity that presents the optimum design was then developed to get a good shear-welding process.

  • Magnesium sheet used in electrical device due to mobility and EMF shielding characteristics. Magnesium case by press forming was advantageous compare with conventional die casting process, because of its thin gauge of wall and surface quality. But it need to makes the boss to fix inner part or assemble the case. CD stud welding was effective way for joining the boss to the thin gauge case of the electrical devices. In this study, we investigated the performances of the magnesium boss welder To measure the process parameters such as the force and the weld current, we design the monitoring system for CD stud welding. We test the characteristics of CD stud welding for AZ31 sheets at some variables. Finally we select the optimum welding range of magnesium sheets in CD stud welding process.

알루미늄 판재의 압출점접합공정에 있어서 접합강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Welding Strength of Extru-Riveting Process of Aluminum Plates)

  • It was studied that two plates of aluminum can be welded by extru-riveting experiments with extru-rivet welding dies, and that the welding strength and metal flow on the welding section were analyzed by computer simulation according to the welding variable such as the diameter of extrusion insert dies. It was known by computer simulation that welding strength on the welding section of plates could be influenced by the diameter of extrusion insert dies. And it was known by experiments that two plates of aluminum can be welded on a spot point on aluminum plate by extru-rivet welding process, and that welding strength is higher and higher if the diameter of extrusion insert die is smaller and smaller, and that welding strength is the highest when diameter of extrusion insert dies is ${\emptyset}4.2$mm in the case that the diameter of rivet is 5 mm, when aluminum 5052 two plates with 1.5 mm thickness and one plate with 3mm thickness for rivet plate are used as welding material.

  • Steam Generator has been manufactured by welding process after partial manufacturing of various steel forgings such as shell, head and tube sheet. Usually, these steel forgings are made by open die forging process. After steel melting and ingot making, open die forging has been carried out to get a good quality which means high soundness and homogeniety of the steel forgings by using high capacity hydraulic press. This paper introduced open die forging development status of the large steel forgings which is used for the steam generator of 1,400MW next generation nuclear power plant.
