The practice of business estimate flood discharge by rainfall-flow relation that is easy collection of observation data. The important factor is rainfall, coefficient of runoff, and drainage area for analysis of runoff-flow relation. The practice of business usually use probability rainfall that use a weighted average value after each observation post estimate probability of non-same time. It has more error than same time probability rainfall, and it can excess of estimation because it can't consider space distribution of rainfall. The study of result showed similar aspect with existing ARF but width of coefficient become smaller. And the comparison of peak flow did not different what used by ARF and same time probability rainfall(A group). But non-same time probability rainfall is bigger 25% more than another(B group). Between A group and B group of the difference increased with the lapse of time.

The potential of using genetic programming to predict engineering data has caught the attention of researchers in recent years. The present paper utilized weighted genetic programming (WGP), a derivative model of genetic programming (GP), to model the compressive strength of concrete. The calculation results of Abrams' laws, which are used as the design codes for calculating the compressive strength of concrete, were treated as the inputs for the genetic programming model. Therefore, knowledge of the Abrams' laws, which is not a factor of influence on common data-based learning approaches, was considered to be a potential factor affecting genetic programming models. Significant outcomes of this work include: 1) the employed design codes positively affected the prediction accuracy of modeling the compressive strength of concrete; 2) a new equation was suggested to replace the design code for predicting concrete strength; and 3) common data-based learning approaches were evolved into knowledge-based learning approaches using historical data and design codes.

Many work-related risk factors can cause construction site hazards. Therefore, safety management begins with measuring the magnitude of risk involved in a project. This study proposes a methodology for risk assessment of major trades at a particular construction site. To assess risk, this methodology integrates hazard severity and frequency, and their magnitude is calculated based on actual work-site hazards. This methodology also considers the influence factors that affect the frequency of work-related hazards. To select the appropriate influence factors, a two step approach is deployed. First, the predominant factors are identified through a literature review. Second, a selective process filters out the influence factors that are difficult to analyze quantitatively, and these extracted factors are weighted using expert surveys. Finally, the factors are combined and a quantitative risk assessment methodology is proposed.
Objective: Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common gynecologic malignancy. Identification of potential biomarkers of EC would be helpful for the detection and monitoring of malignancy, improving clinical outcomes. Methods: The Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis method was used to identify prognostic markers for EC in this study. Moreover, underlying molecular mechanisms were characterized by KEGG pathway enrichment and transcriptional regulation analyses. Results: Seven gene co-expression modules were obtained, but only the turquoise module was positively related with EC stage. Among the genes in the turquoise module, COL5A2 (collagen, type V, alpha 2) could be regulated by PBX (pre-B-cell leukemia homeobox 1)1/2 and HOXB1(homeobox B1) transcription factors to be involved in the focal adhesion pathway; CENP-E (centromere protein E, 312kDa) by E2F4 (E2F transcription factor 4, p107/p130-binding); MYCN (v-myc myelocytomatosis viral related oncogene, neuroblastoma derived [avian]) by PAX5 (paired box 5); and BCL-2 (B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2) and IGFBP-6 (insulin-like growth factor binding protein 6) by GLI1. They were predicted to be associated with EC progression via Hedgehog signaling and other cancer related-pathways. Conclusions: These data on transcriptional regulation may provide a better understanding of molecular mechanisms and clues to potential therapeutic targets in the treatment of EC.

A precision analysis was conducted for the quantification of trace metal levels in airborne particulates using ICP-MS. According to our study the quantitative analysis using Whatman grade 41 filters produces more precise and representative values of metal concentrations than that using EPM 2000 filters. The mean concentration of PM 10 analyzed during 1998 ~ 2000 was 82 $\mu$g/m$^3$. The concentrations of human carcinogens such as As and Cr were 8.65 and 25.87 ng/m$^3$, respectively, while those of probable human carcinogens such as Cd and Pb were 3.13 and 219.46 ng/m$^3$, respectively. Time-weighted mean concentration, calculated using surface wind speed and direction, indicated that there were differences between metals of crustal origin and metals of anthropogenic origin. The rectorial concentrations of anthropogenic metals and PM 10 were higher for north -west sector with calm or low wind speed conditions than for any other sector with high wind speed conditions. On the contrary, the rectorial concentrations of crustal metals were high with high wind speed. In addition, the sectorial concentrations of crustal metals were more affected by south-west wind directions, which were compared with those of anthropogenic metals. The enrichment factor (EF) values of many anthropogenic metals were higher than 50, while those of crustal metals were lower than 3, respectively. The concentrations of Cr and Ni in Daejeon industrial complex area were 11 times higher than those in the background site of Kuopio in Finland, while that of Pb in the complex area was 22 times higher, respectively.

Objective : The authors have speculated that metastatic brain lesions from renal cell carcinoma (RCC) show diverse radiological patterns and tumor responses after Gamma knife surgery (GKS), and have hypothesized that these can be predicted from tumor radiological characteristics. The goal of the current study was to identify the radiological characteristics of RCC brain metastases and the predictors of initial radiosurgical response after GKS. Methods : A retrospective analysis was performed on 48 lesions in 18 patients with RCC brain metastasis treated by GKS. The radiological characteristics of these lesions in magnetic resonance images (MRI) were classified into 3 categories according to enhancement patterns in T1-weighted images and signal intensity characteristics in T2-weighted images. Responses to GKS were analyzed according to these categories, and in addition, other potential predictive factors were also evaluated. Results : MRI findings in the three categories were diverse, though numbers of the lesion were comparable. At 2-month MRI follow-ups after GKS, response rate was 54% and the local tumor control rate 83%. T2 signal intensity was found to be the principal predictive factor of response to GKS, namely negative predictive factor. Other variables such as age, sex, tumor volume, dose, duration from initial diagnosis to GKS, and previous systemic therapies failed to show significant relationships with treatment response by multivariate analysis. Conclusion : Careful evaluation of the radiological characteristics of brain metastases from RCC is important prior to GKS because MRI heterogeneity has predictive value in terms of determining initial tumor response.
This paper examines Korea's top 30 authors, in the maritime transportation field to compare their world ranking. The analysis covers the affiliation of the authors and their articles published in 65 SSCI and SCI journals on maritime and transportation over a 16-year period (2000-2015). The following three indicators are used for ranking: number of papers; the weighted score that reflects the contribution of the authors; and the impact score, which considers the impact factor. The two most active two schools are Pusan National University and Inha University. Star players are deemed to have contributed greatly to boosting the ranking of their affiliated institution. The institutions that are located in a city that is a seaport show higher research outcomes. Because of the fall in the proportion of Korean papers in the total papers published globally on maritime transportation, the country's future rankings are likely to suffer.
Arc must be stable during welding first of all other factors for obtaining sound weldment, especially in the automation of welding process. Arc stability is somewhat sophisticated phenomenon which is not clearly defined yet. In consumable electrode welding, the voltage and current variation due to metal transfer enables to assess arc stability. Recently, statistical analyses of the voltage and current waveform factors are performed to assess the degress of arc stability which is assessed and controlled by operator's own experience by now. But, considering the increasing need and the trend of automation of welding process, it is necessary to monitor arc stability in real-time. In this sutdy, the modified stability index composed of two voltage and current wvaeform factors (arc time and short circuit time) reduced from four factors (arc time, short circuit time, average arc current and average short circuit current) in Mita's index by the welding electrical circuit modeling is proposed and verified by experiments to be well estimating arc stability in the static sense. Also, the recursive calculation form estimating present arc stability in the dynamic sense is developed for real-time estimation. The results of applying the recursive index during welding show good estimation of arc stability in real-time. Therefore, the results of this study offers the mean for real-time control arc stability.
This paper describes a newly developed arc-sensing algorithm of seam-tracking for FCA W (flux-cored arc welding) horizontal fillet welding. In this algorithm, arc current and the Weighted-Are-Current (WAC) are used to adjust the position of a weld torch in directions of bead throat and weaving, respectively. The WAC, which is newly devised in this study, means that arc current in the vicinity of weaving end is more emphasized than that in the center of weaving. The reason of this is because there usually exists much noise in the center of weaving due to abrupt change of arc length in case some empty gaps exist in a fillet joint Variance analysis was performed in order to check the effect of weld parameters on arc current and the WAC. As a result, the relationships between tip-to-workpiece distance and arc current, and between weaving offset and the WAC were established. To check "the validity of the algorithm, seam-tracking experiments were performed ;mder various welding condition. The result of experiments showed a satisfactory tracking performance in the presence of empty gaps in a horizontal fillet joint.et joint.
