LABOUR REDUCTION OF TEA PLUCKING OPERATION WITH PORTABLE TYPE MACHINE

  • With the purpose of labour reduction in tea plucking operation with portable type machine, the influence of frame angles and tea leaves weight on the grasping forces of each finger were investigated. At the measurement of the grasping force of each finger except for thumb, grip strength dynamometers were attached at the grasping position of the frame instead of handle grips. A series of measurement was carried out changing frame angles of the tea plucking machine and the weight of tea leaves. With the obtained results of the experiments , the influences of the frame angles and the weight of the tea leaves on the grasping forces of each finger were analyzed. Some reasonable suggestions for the labour reduction in the tea plucking operation with portable type machine were obtained in the aspect of normalizing the balance of the grasping force on each finger and these suggestions are expected to contribute the labour reduction of the tea plucking operation.

난류유동에서 PEO가 마찰저항 감소효과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Drag Reduction Effect of PEO in Turbulent Flow)

  • As polymer added in flow, the phenomenon of drag reduction effect was found by many experiments and studies. We divided polymer into three molecular weight($2{\times}10^5,\;4{\times}10^5,\;5{\times}10^5$) and into four concentration(1, 5, 10, 20wppm), then we measured the drag reduction effect in the range Reynolds Number with $30000{\sim}60000$. Finally we found that the most effect drag reduction was that molecular weight is $2{\times}10^5$ with 10wppm concentration. Then the concentration was according to PEO molecular weight, and in general DR increase according to Reynolds Number.

  • The CO$_2$ laser beam irradiation strengthening of 35kgf/mm$_2$ grade steel sheet is investigated to reduce the weight of bumper beam. The increase of tensile strength is dominated by the number of fully penetrated melting lines. The optimal laser irradiation pattern is obtained by 3-point bending test of hat-type specimens. Laser should be irradiated not only on the center specimen densely in the width direction, but also on the edge densely in the longitudinal direction. Local laser strengthening may be effective for the weight reduction of automobile bumper beam.

  • In this paper, the conventional linear induction motor(LIM) used in propelling the MAGLEV in Korea is redesigned in order to reduce its weight. The specifications of the newly designed model for base speed, acceleration, rated thrust and maximum output is respectively 45km/h, 4.0km/h/sec, 5,200[N] and 65 [kW]. Weight reduction effect of the LIM according to the change of pole number from 8 to 6 is shown. Equivalent circuit analysis considering end effect and finite element method are used for the analysis of the redesigned model. Finally the weight reduction ratio of the newly designed LIM to the conventional model, thrust, attraction force, line current, temperature rise, flux density distribution are presented.

스티어링 펌프 브라켓의 경량화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Weight Reduction of the Steering Pump Bracket)

  • The power steering pump bracket for a passenger car which is mounted on the engine block plays a role to support the inertia forces of the pump and the reaction forces of the belt assembly. The existing bracket which is made of FCD material has some demerits such as heavy weight, lower productivity and lower reliability. Recently, AI alloy bracket has been investigated to overcome these demerits. In this study, Stress analysis and modal analysis for a existing FCD bracket and two type of AI alloy brackets were performed, and strength and natural frequency of them were estimated by using finite element method to accomplish the weight reduction. As a result, the modified shape of AI alloy bracket is proposed, and it has achieved the 45% weight reduction and the improvement of its strength and vibration characteristics.

  • According to the developments of automobile industry, a technology has been studied in a point of view of environment, which is to increase fuel consumption rate. Especially it is well known that a weight reduction is one of the main technologies to increase the fuel consumption rate and, also to decrease the cost of manufacturing. This paper presents the method for reducing weight of bracket, which connects air conditioner compressor to engine, based on dynamic stress analysis and engineer's intuition for optimal design.

  • In this study, to develop a light weight duo type aluminum LPG tank in stead of a conventional steel tank optimization technology is used. Two types of optimization method are carried out for internal compression test simulation of a LPG tank. The first is the thickness only optimization of LPG tank components. The second is the thickness and shape optimization. For the case of the thickness only optimization the weight reduction rate of an optimized tank compare to that of the initial design is 42%. Also 48% weight reduction was achieved for the case of the thickness and shape optimization.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report weight changes and analyze adverse events in diabetic patients with Gamitaeeumjowee-Tang for weight loss. Methods: A retrospective chart review of weight change and adverse events was performed during the 10-week weight loss program using Gamitaeeumjowee-tang with low-calorie diets for diabetics(n=61). Weight and BMI changes were compared before and after the program and calculated the percentage of people who lost more than 5% of their weight, also identified whether subjects felt satiated or not. Adverse events were evaluated in terms of causality, severity and system-organ classes. Results: After 10-week weight loss program, significant weight loss (5.9±2.32kg, 7.73% reduction from baseline) and BMI reduction (2.9±0.86) were reported (n=61). Those who lost more than 5 percent of their body weight accounted for 88.5%, and also 88.5% of the participants felt full to help control their appetite. In assessing the causality of adverse events, 'Unlikely' was the most common (66%) and in severity evaluations, almost all symptoms were mild. Insomnia was the most frequently reported during the first 8 weeks, and constipation was reported the most afterwards. Conclusions: A combination of Gamitaeeumjowee-tang and low-calorie diets for 10 weeks appears to help weight reduction without serious adverse events in diabetic patients. Future well-designed prospective clinical studies testing the effectiveness and safety of this weight loss program are warranted.

완충재 구성방법에 따른 동탄성계수 및 중량바닥충격음 저감특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Dynamic Stiffness and Heavy-weight Floor Impact Sound Reduction by Composition of Resilient Materials)

  • Resilient materials are generally used for the floating floors to reduce the floor impact sound. Dynamic stiffness of resilient material, which has the most to do with the floor impact sound reduction. The resilient materials available in Korea include EPS(styrofoam), recycled urethane types, EVA(ethylene vinylacetate) foam rubber, foam PE(polyethylene). glass fiber & rock wool, recycled tire, foam polypropylene. compressed polyester, and other synthetic materials. In this study, we tested dynamic stiffness of resilient material and floor impact sound reduction characteristic to a lot of kinds of resilient materials. It was found that dynamic stiffness of multi-layered damping material could be estimated if know value of each layer that compose whole structure. And the test showed that the amount of the heavy-weight impact sound reduction appeared by being influenced from this dynamic stiffness of resilient material. The dynamic stiffness looked like between other resilient materials, a similar to the amount of the heavy-weight impact sound reduction was shown.
