Objectives To study on the relation between Sasang constitution and obesity and that of obese patient's clinical symptom. Methods The subjects were 129 female patients to visit to diet. The subjects were 129 female patients to diet who answered questionnaire QSCC II and were diagnosed by the Sasang constitution from May to December in 2001 at Nara oriental medical clinic. Results 1. Of obese patients 79.1% were Taeumin, 11.6% Soeumin, and 9.3% Soyangin. 2. A relation of a grade of obesity and Sasang constitution. 2-1) 45.8% of the obese patients were high level obesity who had over 35% of body fat. Out of these people, 91.5% were Taeumin. 2-2) 40.3% of the obese patients weight hip ratio was between 0.84 to 0.89 and 84.6% of these people were proved to be Taeumin. 2-3) 39.2% of the people who had a minimum weight hip ratio of 0.90 were significantly Taeumin, 6.7% Soeumin and 16.6% Soyangin. 2-4) 65.7% of Taeumin were obese patients. 3. Obesity treatment with constitution. 3-1) 59.8% of Taeumin were Pyo-zng patients. 3-2) As treatment periods tended to increase, Taeumin and Soeumin patients showed a large decling of body fat, whereas Soeumin patients showed the opposite reaction. 3-3) The weight hip ratio was led by Taeumin with 0.03 and then came Soeumin and Soyangin with a 0.02 ratio. As treatment was taken into process longer Taeumin patients showed a great progress in decreasing their weight hip ratios. 4. Costitutional related symptom with Obesity. 4-1) Taeumin was followed by Soyangin and then Soeumin in family history. 4-2) Soeumin was followed by Taeumin, then Soyangin when complain of physical fatigue was taken into consideration. 4-3) The ordinary exercise was led by Soyangin, Taeumin then Soeumin. 4-4) People who receive stress turned out to be 72.9% much higher than the people who don't. 4-5) Overeating due to stress was found in 83.3% of Soyangin.
The purpose of this study was to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexion. the subjects of this study were 30 hemiplegic patients with stroke who received of physical therapy in JinJu o o hospital from May to July 2000. the subjects were divided into three groups(FES groups 10, FES + tilt table-wedge board standing groups 10, & tilt table-wedge board standing groups 10). The result were as follow 1. FES therapy was a effective method to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexor. there was a significant difference in modified Ashworth scale(p<.01). there was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(p<.01). 2. Tilt table-wedge board standing therapy was a effective method to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexor to a degree but there was a no significant difference in modified Ashworth scale(p<.05). there was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(p<.01). 3. Tilt table-wedge board standing therapy + FES therapy was a effective method to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexor. there was a significant difference in modified Ashworth scale(p<.01). there was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(p<.01) 4. There was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side according to the grade spasticity(p<.01). 5. For normal persons vs hemiplegic patients, there was a significant different in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(experimental subjects 1 p<.01, experimental subjects 2 p<.01, control subjects p<.05).

The general and specific combining abilities and hybrid vigour of seven polyvoltine breeds [BL24, BL62, BL6S, BL67, BL68, BL69, and Pure Mysore (PM)] with five bivoltine breeds (NB4D2, CSR2, CSR5, CSR18 and CSR19) were evaluated in a line ${times}$ tester design by analysing six quantitative traits viz., fecundity, yield 110,000 larvae both by number and weight, cocoon weight, shell weight and cocoon shell ratio. ANOVA estimates showed significant effects for all the traits indicating the role of both additive and non- additive gene actions. Estimation of GCA revealed that the breed BL67 exhibited significant positive effects toy all the six traits followed by BL68 for four important economic traits viz., fecundity, cocoon weight, shell weight and cocoon shell ratio. Among testers, CSR5 showed significant GCA effects for five traits whereas CSR2 exhibited for shell weight and shell ratio. Three hybrids viz., BL67${times}$ NB4D2, BL67 ${times}$CSR5 and BL67${times}$ CSR19 excelled in four quantitative traits for SCA. Majority of the hybrids expressed positive hybrid vigour for cocoon yield/10,000 larvae by weight, cocoon weight and shell weight. Four hybrids namely PM ${times}$ NB4D2, BL67 ${times}$NB4D2, BL67${times}$ CSR5 and BL67${times}$ CSR19 manifesting positive hybrid vigour for five economic traits were adjudicated as best Heterotic hybrids and recommended for commercial exploitation to increase the silk yield.
In order to clarify the effect of the unilateral pneumonectomy on the compensatory growth of the residual lung, liver and kidney, and serum electrophoresis pattern, right lung pneumonectomy was performed on rabbits under general anesthesia with pentobarbital sodium. On the fifth day after the surgery, the weight of the residual lung, liver and bilateral kidneys was measured and organ weight-body weight ratio was calculated. And in an attempt to know whether the cells in the liver and the kidney were proliferated by unilateral pneumonectomy, DNA content was determined. The quantity(g/100 ml) of serum protein was determined also and serum electrophoresis was performed on cellulose acetate membrane. The results obtained are summarized as following. The weight of the residual lung and lung weight-body weight ratio was significantly increased respectively. The weight of the liver and organ weight-body weight ratio were not changed but the DNA content of the liver and kidney tissue increased significantly, illustrating that unilateral pneumonectomy caused cellular hyperplasia in the liver and in the kidney as well as in the residual lung. The quantity(g/100 ml) of serum protein was significantly increased and in the analysis of the electrophoregram, there was significant difference between the normal and pneumonectomy group. Taken together, these results indicate that unilateral pneumonectomy caused the compensatory hyperplasia of the liver, the kidney and the residual lung as well as the change of electro-phoretic pattern. And it also suggests that a humoral factor, which proliferates the cells in the residual lung, the liver and the kidney, existed in the pneumonectomized rabbits.
The effects of food deprivation and feeding ratio on the growth, feed utilization and body composition of juvenile olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus were investigated in 810 juvenile fish averaging 6.4 g in weight randomly distributed in 27 400-L flow-through tanks. A 3 [food deprivation: 8-week feeding without food deprivation (8W), 7-week feeding after 1-week food deprivation (7W) and 6-week feeding after 2-week food deprivation (6W)]${\time}3$ (feeding ratio: 100%, 95% and 90% of satiation, hereafter denoted by 100, 95 and 90, respectively) factorial design was applied. The weight gain of the fish was significantly affected by both food deprivation and feeding ratio. The weight gain of the fish under the 8W-100 treatment was higher than that of those under the 7W-95, 7W-90, 6W-100, 6W-95 and 6W-90 treatments, but did not differ from those of fish under the 8W-95, 8W-90 and 7W-100 treatments. The specific growth rate (SGR) and the feed intake of the fish were affected by both food deprivation and feeding ratio. However, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) was unaffected by both food deprivation and feeding ratio. The protein efficiency ratio (PER) was affected by the feeding ratio, but not by food deprivation. The protein retention (PR) was affected by food deprivation, but not by feeding ratio. Juvenile olive flounder subjected to 1-week food deprivation at 100% satiation (7W-100 treatment) achieved full compensatory growth.
Development and maturation of wheat were studied with reference to the quality of grain and milling properties. 1000-kernel weight and test weight increased as the wheat matured and as the orginal moisture decreased. The time of maturity was estimated 40 days after heading. Moisture content of wheat grain had a correlation coefficient of -0.877** with 1000-kernel weight, of -0.761** with test weight, and of 0.915** with pearling index. The milling data suggest that even in the early stages of maturing, the endosperm represented at large proportion of the grain. However, milling score was relatively constant at about 40 days. Break-Reduction flour ratio was a great difference between wheat varieties. 1000-kernel weight had a high significant correlation of +0.603** with milling yield, of -0.958** with ash content, and of +0.956** with milling score.
The effect of corticosteroid on the diabetic pregnant rats and their fetuses was investigated. Streptozotocin (STB) was injected into the pregnant rats on the fifth day of pregnancy. Dexamethasone (DXM) was injected into the pregnant rats on the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th days of pregnancy In prenatal rats, the body weight, an abortion rate, number of fetus, the ratio of lecithin/sphingomyelin (L/S) and the levels of blood glucose and phosphatidylglycerol (PG) were determined. In the postnatal rats, the body weight, the levels of blood glucose, fetal number, stillbirth rate, an organ weight and the levels of hepatic glycogen, protein and triglyceride were determined. The body weight of fetuses was lower in the DXM group and higher in the STZ group than the those of control group. Blood glucose of fetuses produced hypoglycemia in the STZ group compared with the control group. A significant increase in the abortion and stillbirth rates was observed in STZ group. The levels of glycogen, protein and triglyceride in fetus liver and the weight of pancreas were significantly increased in the 572 and STZ+DXM groups compared with the control group. The L/S ratio and the level of PG in the amniotic (quid were significantly decreased in STZ group compared with the control group, whereas those of the STZ+DXM group were similar to the control group. It has been observed that corticosteroid administration on the STZ-induced diabetic rats during final stage of pregnancy can prevent the respiratory depression syndrome of neonatal rats.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate hamstring length during static uprighting position using weight distribution ratio. Methods: Ninety-six volunteers(56 males) were participated. The active knee extension test(AKE) was measured 3 times on both legs. The mean score of AKE was obtained. Then, the measurement of weight distribution ratio was observed 3 times on both legs, and its mean value was also calculated. Subjects were divided four groups based on their hamstring length measurement; both hamstring shortening group, left hamstring shortening group, right hamstring shortening group and normal hamstring length group. One-way ANOVA was employed to analyse collected data. Pearson's correlation was also hired to see any relationship between the hamstring length and the weight distribution. Results: In anterior/left area and posterior/right area, both hamstring shortening group left hamstring shortening group were superior to right hamstring shortening group and normal hamstring length group. Significant difference was existed statistically(p<.05) between groups. The correlation analysis between hamstring length and weight distribution ratio has not been shown any significant findings(Pant/post=0.733, Plt/rt=0.135). Conclusion: The results of the study may be applied to therapeutic management in posture and movement skill in musculoskeletal physical therapy.
On this study, we optimized maximizing thrust force of weight ratio and minimizing detent force of weight ratio at the TFLM(Transverse Flux Linear Motor) using design of experiments by the table of orthogonal array, characteristic function and analysis of means(ANOM), For two functions or more, the effectiveness of design change can be evaluated in accordance with change in design parameters. Also, The stator and mover weight of TFLM is reduced by up to 20 percent while its thrust force of weight ratio and detent force of weight improved. From now on, we are going to apply the required technique to design various uses and shares of the TFLM.
Thinness has become a symbol for beauty acceptance and competence for women in our society especially for young college women. Relatively little is known about characteristics of women who are dissatisfied with their shape or weight and who are interested in performing weight control program. Four hundred college women in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do area were surveyed from November to December 1992 to investigate the relationship between the concern about weight control and various aspects of food related behaviors. The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between the weight concerns of college women and their aspects of several eating behaviors. Self-developed questionnaire was used after validity test. The results were as follows: 1) The average height weight and BMI value of subjects were 160$\pm$4.5cm 51.02kg and 19.86$\pm$4.5 respectively. 2) The 49% of subjects were highly concerned about weight control(high interest group) and 39% were moderate concerned(moderate interest group). 3) The average BMI and weight change per year were significantly higher in the high interest group than other groups. 4) The score of nutrition knowledge was also higher in the high interest group, 5) There were no significant differences among groups in the meal frequencies. and amount of nutrients intake. 6) The signs of eating trouble were found in subjects 59.0% of subjects felt feareness about weight gain after consumption of large amount of food. 7) The ratio of CPF was 64:14:22 and nutrient adquacy ratio(NAR) of energy was 0.94 NAR of Fe was 0.84 the other NAR of nutrient over 1.0.
