Robustness to Impulsive Noise of Algorithms based on Cross-Information Potential and Delta Functions (상호 정보 에너지와 델타함수를 이용한 알고리즘의 충격성 잡음에 대한 강인성)

  • In this paper, the optimum weight of the algorithm based on the cross information-potential with the delta functions (CIPD) is derived and its robustness against impulsive noise is studied. From the analysis of the behavior of optimum weight, it is revealed that the magnitude controlling operation for input plays the main role of keeping optimum weight of CIPD stable from the impulsive noise. The simulation results show that the steady state weight of CIPD is equivalent to that of MSE criterion. Also in the simulation environment of impulsive noise, unlike the LMS algorithm based on MSE, the steady state weight of CIPD is shown to be kept stable.

  • 본 논문의 연구목적은 Grey Relational Analysis와 Interval Weight을 이용하여 다수의 업체가 있는 커뮤니티 환경에서 최적의 업체를 선정하기 위한 방법론을 제공하는 것이다. 일반적으로 하나의 의사를 결정하기 위해서는 대안과 이와 관련된 기준과 같은 다양한 변수들이 고려되어야 한다. 커뮤니티 내의 다수의 업체 평가를 위해 평가기준에 대한 가중치를 도출하고 최종적으로 평가결과를 도출하기 위해 Grey Relational Analysis와 Interval Weight에 기반을 둔 다중의사결정 방법을 제안하였다.

Review on Predictors of Weight Loss in Obesity Treatment (비만 치료에 있어서 체중 감량에 영향을 주는 인자들에 대한 고찰)

  • Objectives: People often fail to reduce or maintain their weight despite trying to lose weight. The purpose of this study was to review previously published study results of the predictive factors associated with weight loss in obesity treatment. Methods: Authors searched for the articles related to weight loss, published from 2007 to 2017 found on PubMed, Scopus, Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), and Koreanstudies Information Service System (KISS). A total of 43 articles were finally selected. From the study results, unchangeable and changeable predictors were extracted, and these predictors were examined according to detailed categories. Results: Predictors of weight loss in obesity treatment included genetic and physiological factors, demographic factors, history of treatment on obesity related factors, behavioral factors, psychological factors and treatment process related factors. The main factors of weight loss were unchangeable predictors such as high initial degree of obesity and younger age, and changeable predictors such as dietary restraint, regular exercise, self-efficacy, initial weight loss and attendance. Especially dietary restraint, regular exercise, successful initial weight loss and high attendance were considered to be dominant factors for weight loss treatments. Conclusions: Our review results suggest that unchangeable and changeable predictors of weight loss should be carefully examined during treatments of obesity.

An XML Tag Indexing Method Using on Lexical Similarity (XML 태그를 분류에 따른 가중치 결정)

  • For more effective index extraction and index weight determination, studies of extracting indices are carried out by using document content as well as structure. However, most of studies are concentrating in calculating the importance of context rather than that of XML tag. These conventional studies determine its importance from the aspect of common sense rather than verifying that through an objective experiment. This paper, for the automatic indexing by using the tag information of XML document that has taken its place as the standard for web document management, classifies major tags of constructing a paper according to its importance and calculates the term weight extracted from the tag of low weight. By using the weight obtained, this paper proposes a method of calculating the final weight while updating the term weight extracted from the tag of high weight. In order to determine more objective weight, this paper tests the tag that user considers as important and reflects it in calculating the weight by classifying its importance according to the result. Then by comparing with the search performance while using the index weight calculated by applying a method of determining existing tag importance, it verifies effectiveness of the index weight calculated by applying the method proposed in this paper.

  • People with obesity or over-weight need nutritional intervention to reduce their weight, because weight loss reduces the incidence rate of chronic diseases such as hypertension, type II diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer in obese people. This study was to develop a system for individualized weight control program available both for wired and wireless internet users. This system is especially useful to users carrying wireless internet mobile device. If they input their physical information (height, weight and waist circumference) and mineral levels measured by hair tissue mineral analysis, the system provides evaluation of their health status and metabolic related functions such as endocrine and carbohydrate tolerance. Based on these evaluations, food menus are then offered to them to manage their health status and to improve their metabolic related physiological functions in a personalized way. The system also provides more information for recommended foods, such as nutritional information, food ingredients, recipes, and videos related to cooking. Bibimbap was selected as an example dish for customized contents for mobile web. Bibimbap is one of the most well-known Korean traditional dishes prepared with various kinds of ingredients including several different kinds of vegetables, meat, and egg so that it is a low calorie dish as well as a well-balanced diet. Therefore, this system developed in this study allows the mobile users to access web site through wired wireless internet everywhere and provides a customized content to the users to manage their weight and finally to achieve a desirable weight.

  • If C is a code, an orphan is a coset without any parent. We investigate the structure of orphans of the code BCH(3, m). All weight 5 cosets and all weight 3 reduced cosets are orphans, and all weight 1,2 and 4 are not orphans. We conjecture that all weight 3 unreduced cosets are not orphans. We prove this conjecture for m = 4, 5.

Complete Weight Enumerator of the Delsarte-Goethals Code over $Z_4$ ($Z_4$상에서 정의된 Delsarte-Goethals 부호의 완전 무게 분포)

  • In this paper, the complete weight enumerator of the Delsarte-Goethals code over Z$_4$ is obtained. This code is divided into 3 cases and the complete weight enumerator of each case is calculated. During this weight enumeration, the blown distribution of exponential sums and binary weight distribution of the sub-codes are used. By combining this result and MacWilliams identity, the complete weight enumerator of the Goethals code over Z$_4$can be easily obtained. This result is also used for finding 3-designs from the Goethals and Delsarte-Goethals codes over Z$_4$.

  • Consumer may perceive needs of certain product information online rather than the number of pieces of information available for decision making. In addition, consumers may seek information that is more relevant to apparel category. Moreover, involved consumers intensify information seeking and seek certain information. The purpose of this study is to identify the perceived importance weight of each information cue when shopping apparel via the Internet, to investigate the differences of the perceived importance weight of product information cues in product category, and to examine the relationship between apparel involvement and the perceived importance weight of product information cues. This study employed a single-factor within-subjects design experiment that simulated online purchase situation for two product types, Jeans and a Shirt. A total of 125 college students participated in this study. Results indicated that selected information such size available, price, style, color description, item measurement, stock available, and item quality (in sequence) can be considered as global cues to judge product quality and influence purchase decision regardless of product category. The significant multivariate effects for product category on the perceived importance weight of product information cues were found. Personalization, fiber content, and fabric structure were product specific information cues. Consumers' product involvement significantly influenced the perception of information weight. Therefore, product information can be personalized based on consumer involvement

Routing Decision with Link-weight Calculating Function in WDM Switching Networks

  • In this paper, we have proposed the new link-weight calculating function using for routing decision in WDM networks. The proposed link-weight calculating functions includes following factors those are available wavelengths per link, distance loss, total wavelengths, and limited wavelength conversion. The calculated link-weight is applied into the algorithm of routing decision in order to determine the available lightpath that qualifies user requests. The objective is to improve the performance of wavelengths assignment with fast determining the suitable lightpath by using the proposed link-weights calculating function. The analytical model of WDM switching networks is introduced for numerical analysis. The link-weight calculating function is performed. Finally, the performance of proposed algorithm is displayed with numerical results in term of the blocking probability, the probability that connection requests from users are rejected due to there are no available lightpath to be assigned for them. It is also shown that the blocking probability is varied in depending on the number of available wavelengths and the degree of wavelength conversion. The numerical results also show that the proposed link-weight calculating function is more cost-effective choice for the routing decision in WDM switching networks.

The effect of onion on hyperlipidemia: Meta-analysis (양파의 고지혈증 효과에 대한 메타분석)

  • In this study, we studied the effect of onion on hyperlipidemia in terms of factors, such as body weight, liver weight, kidney weight, heart weight, blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol. The hyperlipidemia supplement was significantly effective on the liver weight, kidney weight, blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL-cholesterol with the fixed effect model. However, the liver weight, blood glucose, total cholesterol, and triglycerides were significantly decreased with the random effect model on the heterogeneous factors selected by Galbraith plot. The existence of publication bias was checked by using a funnel plot.
