Recently, as the development and use of distributed multimedia services are growing explosively in every aspects of our lives, administrators of multimedia services are very concerned with providing users with reliable and efficient services. However, the management of distributed multimedia services is a very complex and troublesome work such that a flexible but powerful management system is necessary. This paper proposes a management system for managing CORBA-based distributed multimedia services. We have developed an architecture for the management system and defined a set of management services needed to monitor and control distributed multimedia services. The architecture consists of several objects, which perform configuration management, fault management, security management and event management. A generic distributed multimedia service (DMS) MIB has been defined for the management of various multimedia services and applications. In addition, as a proof of concept, we have developed a Web-based management system for a CORBA-based distributed multimedia system called MAESTRO. The prototype management system uses OrbixWeb to interface with the management server which is implemented as a set of CORBA objects. Though our management system has been developed for distributed multimedia services, it can easily manage other CORBA-based services and applications.

The coursewares available on the web are on active development by each country all over the world in accordance with web prevailing. Many Visual Basic language courseware is also into web-based education it is not improving the effect of learning. Hence through this study, in orer to be out of the said kind of approach, 1)by adding multimedia elements with making the best of web characteristics, 2)escalating the studying effect of learners' with experimental environment, and 3)providing proper feedbacks in assessment of learners' reactions 4)we invented web-based multimedia courseware with the technology of Real Encoder, Real Player, Active X etc. and tried adapting it to school education field on the basis of design model of professor-learning system.

In this paper we proposed web-based educational multimedia contents development method using Web 3D technology and implemented web 3D contents for use at the education field. A implementation of contents is composed of modeling to specific entity in 3D shape, convert modeling data to enable data at web and include in webpage. A practical use of contents on this research can provide more advanced user experience and immersion.

Business model in Web environments is usually provided by multimedia data. Information exchange between users and service providers should be made in encrypted data. Encrypted data are secure from being hacked. Application of DB encryption is a main technology for contents protection. We have applied the access control based on RBAC and prevented the unauthorized users from using the contents. In this paper, we propose a new DB encryption scheme which uses RHAC and digital signature based on PMI.

A new cultivation diary system based on environment sensor data and Web 2.0 with Flex is suggested, to improve the previous system using the subjective data of cultivators. The proposed system is designed by applying an object-oriented model called mini-architecture, in order to enhance the reliability of software as well as promote stability to overall system design. The environment sensor data such as temperature and humidity are used to develop the new reliable diary. Also, an active interface based on Web 2.0 and Android as the user GUI are implemented to maximize the convenience while recording the cultivation diary. The result of the performance evaluation shows that the data from sensors has 99.1% of correlation with that of analogue.

This paper describes best-practices in lifting an image metadata standard to the Semantic Web. We provide guidelines on how an XML-based metadata format can be converted into an OWL ontology. Additionally, we discuss how this ontology can be mapped to the W3C's Media Ontology. This ontology is a standardization effort of the W3C to provide a core vocabulary for multimedia annotations. The approach presented here can be applied to other XML-based metadata standards.

With the improvement of the web-technology, web-based cyber education is progressing from the text-based to the hyper-based including multimedia, and from one way of simply giving the contents to the learner to another way of providing mutual interaction between instructors and learners. There are several fields using the dynamic application and multimedia contents. RIA(Rich Internet Application), which. is the new paradigm of the web, provides clients with more effective and rich contents, combining the dynamic application and multimedia contents. With the existing web script language, a lot of time and efforts will be very needed to provide learners with various and rich contents. In this paper, we compare the efforts in developing the RIA based education system with the Non-RIA based education system, then experiment the characteristics of the RIA based education system

21세기 정보화 사회가 요구하는 새로운 인재의 모습은 시대의 변화에 맞게 달라지고 있다. 이러한 정보화 사회가 요구하는 인재 양성을 위한 교육 방향의 변화에 맞는 교육은 e-Learning이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 e-Learning 의 근간이 되는 교수법과 이에 따른 web-book 을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 web-book은 웹을 기반으로 하는 학습이라는 점에서 e-Learning 에 포함될 수 있으며, 특히 학습 정보를 전달하고 교수자와 학습자 상호간에 의사소통을 할 수 있다는 점에서는 e-Learning 의 한 형태라 할 수 있겠다.
