Development of Web-based Simulator for an Automated Warehouse System : Web-SAW (웹 기반 자동창고시스템 시뮬레이터의 개발 : Web-SAW)

  • Simulation has been recognized as one of major application areas of world wide web. Over the last several years, most research has been focused on the development of web-based simulation languages mostly using JAVA and validation of simulation modeling on web with the newly developed languages. In this paper, we develop a tentative web-based simulator for a simple unit-load automated warehouse system, named Web-SAW. In constructing Web-SAW, we program a user interface program, a simulation logic program, and an animation program with JAVA while utilizing the class library functions and embodiment environment of existing web-based simulation languages. Web-SAW simulates the automated warehouse system with the user input about system operation, displays the animation on a static background representing the system, and generates the various textual outputs after simulation.

  • It is certain that the future manufacturing environment will be network-centric and spatially distributed based on Internet. Today, wide variety of distributed computing and communication technologies are available for implementing a system for product data exchange and sharing. One of the technologies that have been received most attentions for product data exchange and sharing is Product Data Management (PDM). PDM tries to integrate and manage process of data and technical documents that are connected to physical product components. In accordance to previous researches about PDM, it can be regarded as an integration tool of many different areas, which ensures that the right information is available to the right person at the right time and in the right form throughout the enterprise. PDM with Web-enabled CAD system is proposed in this paper in order to acknowledge the usefulness of the system mentioned. The system will use Web service on Visual Studio C#.Net to invoke the web application system.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective web service software platform for remote monitoring and control. In order to propose a system configuration that can check the object information on the web in real time to improve the performance of the web service, the object information reception module and the web viewer system are configured. As IoT devices grow, the environment becomes too complicated to identify and control the status of many devices. We have proposed that these problems be easily controlled in a web-based environment and current status information can be viewed in real time.

  • Web 3.0 is the next-generation of the World Wide Web and is included two main platforms, semantic technologies and social computing environment. The basic idea of web 3.0 is to define structure data and link them in order to more effective discovery, automation, integration, and reuse across various applications. The semantic technologies represent open standards that can be applied on the top of the web. The social computing environment allows human-machine co-operations and organizing a large number of the social web communities. In the recent years, recommender systems have been combined with ontologies to further improve the recommendation by adding semantics to the context on the web 3.0. In this paper, we study previous researches about recommendation method and propose a recommendation method based on web 3.0. Our method scores documents based on context tags and social network services. Our social scoring model is computed by both a tagging score of a document and a tagging score of a document that was tagged by a user's friends.

  • In the recently diversified web environment, the existing methodologies for studying and evaluating the usability of infographics have limit in being applied to new user experience environment. To ensure effective web design that considers various user environments, research needs to be done for such usability of infographics that executes 'simplification and compression of information'. The purpose of this study is to understand the expandability of web-based infographic design, re-establish its concept, and produce the elements involved in the usability evaluation to come up with effective data on user experience. It is expected that this study will be used as a basic research for elucidating the connection to type-based or experienced-based data through convergence of various areas of information technology in the continuously transforming smart media environment.

  • A web based E-mail system consists of serves which supply mail accounts and service, and clients which take part of interfacing with users. The web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer are the popular clients. Users who cannot afford to get an E-mail id in general mail servers are, therefore, able to reach a e-mailing service in the web environment by using client programs in connection with a mail server. Although the quality of service has been upgraded a lot in recent days, it doesn't provide with satisfactory services anymore. In this paper, we intend to design a mail agent system based on the web environment. Through this system we could reach a convenient user interface based on Internet Explorer and could easily access administratory environment on the basis of NT Server 4.0. Using the service engine dominent in mail agent system, it could provide with convenient user interfacing tools like responding the absence of users, mail filtering and refusing messages, etc. And it would ultimately make possible a constant system security, by preventing system failure phenomena caused by extraordinary uses beyond its capability.

  • Recently, many WMS(Web Map Services) and POI(Point of Interest) services come to be in service on the Internet using Web GIS(Geographic Information System) as Information Technology and computer H/W are evolved faster in its speed, network bandwidth and features. The Web GIS is, however, limited and constrained on the specification of its system configuration, the service class provided and the presentation methodology of a map. As the mobile Internet becomes popular in mobile service, Web GIS service on mobile environment is strongly required and to be provided by location based WMS(Web Map Service) on a mobile client such as PDA with location information of the user. In this paper, we made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web map service. For implementing the thin client GIS computing environment. we were using NGII's(National Geographic Information Institute's) DXF map, representing the map by SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) recommended by OGC(OpenGis Consortium), and adapting standard XML web service to provide the thin client GIS service on PDA by applying the location information of the user in realtime with GPS on mobile environment.

  • Learners in web-based learning environment have to keep a stronger will for their study than those in traditional learning environment. Here, this strong will can be told as learner's motivation which is emotional aspects. However, most web-based instructional designs have been based on learner's cognitive aspects. Therefore, this study focused on presenting the strategies for the design of emotional bulletin board and its concrete interfaces.

  • Both the highly developed computing environment and the rapid increase of the internet users enable the present web based cluster system accounting service to help many users access to numerous data at high speed. However, the information security of users and data is also as important as the convenience of the systematic environment. Especially, the significance of damage to the individuals and organizations resulted from the data outflow, hacking and malicious coding has risen up to one of the most essential problems in the internet service business. In this study, I suggest a more safe web based cluster system accounting service solution applying SEED, the Korean Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) standard encryption algorithm.

  • This research suggests an interactive methodology for multiple objective linear programming problems to help the group select a compromising solution in the World Wide Web environment. Our methodology lessens the burden of group decision makers, which is one of necessary conditions of the web environment. Only the partial weak order of variables and objectives from the group decision makers are enough for searching the best compromising solution. For such a purpose, we expand the Dror and Gass algorithm to the group decision context. And we suggest the system architecture of a web-based GDSS for the Implementation of our methodology.
