A Study on web-based telework.distant education center development for the disabled vocational rehabilitation (장애인 고용을 위한 웹 기반 원격근무.원격교육센터 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, information technology are rapidly diffused throughout the world. A new paradigm, 'telework' and 'distant education' is a product of the tremendous technological changes driving the disabled vocational rehabilitation. In the computer and information communication technology areas related with web-based telework?distant education, the disabled expect vocational rehabilitation. Therefore nowadays, the disabled effort to adapt to the new information era by web-based telework and distant education. This study attempts to suggest developmental framework of web-based telework?distant education center to vitalize the disabled vocational rehabilitation.

  • We developed a Web courseware using multimedia based on STS(Science-Technology-Society) and constructivism on fossil of fourth grade natural science in Primary school, which is recognized to be hard to simulate and watch the phenomena in real life. At present, there are several researches manifesting the effectiveness of the theory with off-line instructional materials. However, there are few results which demonstrate its ability on the Web. The main objective of the paper is to apply the STS theory on a Web courseware and to observe its efficacy. The Web courseware based on the theory allows students to observe and experiment in the Web environment and to have diverse experiences and thoughts through communication via Web. The paper shows that Web courseware based on STS theory can improve its effectiveness in a collaborative learning environment by providing Web facilities such as E-mail, Web search, information sharing, chatting, and so on.

  • Many web-based learning systems have been developed and used widely. But it is known that web-based courses have higher drop out rate. Prior studies in classroom-based courses have shown there is a high correlation between student satisfaction and retention. This paper examines the developed web based self-regulated learning system and analyze self-regulated learning factors. We have derived key factors and their relationship that affect student satisfaction in web-based learning. The key factors are Self-evaluating, Goal setting & Planning, Seeking information, Seeking social assistance and Reviewing records. We found the key factors will help retention in web-based learning.

  • In this paper, we have designed and implemented Web-based realtime distant education system by using multimedia CAI and Java technology. The proposed system can provide not only Web-based courseware but also text-based text lecture and distant OHP in real time. The Courseware provides computer basic education and has been developed by using Authorware. The Client/server program of Text lecture and distant OHP for a realtime distant education has been developed by using Java applet and application. Java servlet has been used to construct CGI programs.

  • Web-based instruction is being developed as a new study model getting out of the traditional standardized education method. It is a new education tool which promotes learner-centered and cooperative study. Flash, as one of the most powerful web authoring tool can maximize the effectiveness of learning using computer graphic, animation, sounds and video. In this paper, we will look at developing and distributing education materials using flash and the efficient web-based instructions.

  • A user can use resources on the Semantic Web using a Semantic Web browser. In order to utilize the functions of Semantic Web browsers in education, we compared the functions of well-known Semantic Web browsers such as Tabulator, Contextual Search Browser (CSB), Magpie, and Piggy Bank. In order to utilize Semantic Web browsers in education, a user needs to understand the features of each Semantic Web browser and our work can help both teachers and students. Tabulator is an RDF browser that can help to check whether resources can be used for learning and relevance of resources. CSB can be used to search educational resources using a conrtext file that contains the subjects of learning. It can also help learning by showing semantic web resources in the form of triple set as well as by supporting highlighting function. Magpie can help learners without basic knowledge on learning materials by providing interpretation based on a glossary file and related background knowledge. Piggy Bank supports conversion of web resources into semantic web resources and allows to browse semantic web resources in various views as well as to share semantic web resources.

  • In recent creativity becomes a new request in the knowledge and information age. Robot programming education is an effective teaching method for improvement of creativity. Existing robot programming tools includes text-based or GUI-based development environment. Most of programming tools provide a simple tutorial system without interactive activity for beginners. In this paper, we propose an online robot programming education system based on web2.0, which embedded collaborative code creating tool, interactive tutorial chat and video conference tool to support collaborative code creating via web 2.0. Knowledge sharing tool allows users to share their collaborative source code. Besides, it makes users gained the experience and knowledge of program designing efficiently.

  • A project learning is the model to solve the problem in cooperation with the members of a group. The purpose of this study is to make a new learning model using a web on the traditional project learning model. A Web has the proper nature for students to make their learning environment, so that this study embodied Student Directed Web based project learning system to allow them to expand their abilities. All action of students, that is, suggesting main subject, making plans, activating and adjusting them, and evaluation can be happened in this system. According to the result of applying the system, participants in Students Directed Web based Project Learning intend to implement learning activities more positively, affirmatively and cooperatively than the existing ones.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement an efficient Web- based Project Learning System(WPLS) in particular for the interactive of an elementary school children. The WPLS in this paper has four main parts ; user interface, learner module, administrator module and database. This system was implemented in accordance with the project themes solving learning processes. So the learner module consists of five steps ; project theme proposal, project plan, project execution, web-publishing, and project test. WPLS can improve student`s ICT using ability and academic achievement.
