The goal of this research is to develop a method of identifying a topic of a given text by looking at relationship of keywords defined in an ontology hierarchy. The keywords which are extracted from important sentences of the given text are mapped onto their correspond concepts which exist in the hierarchy. After all the words are mapped, the correspond concepts will be generalized into one single concept. The single concept will most likely be the topic of text. Our research have an approach that promotes both satisfaction in term of robustness and accuracy using ontologies and word frequency. So, this attempts are done in what they call as a hybrid approach. We try to take the challenge by using knowledge-statistical base approach. Experimental results show that proposed method outperforms the existing method using knowledge-base only.

As a new community forming environment, the blog platform enables sharing of the resources in blogosphere through active information exchange. Many researches have been performed to recommend appropriate resources to users from vast amounts of blog resources. As one of the solutions OSEM defines the knowledge base in the blogosphere with ontology for effectively modeling it. In this paper, we propose a technique of converting the knowledge base into the OWL ontology for sharing it on the semantic web environment. An inference method is then applied to the OWL ontology for recommending interest blog communities. For this aim, a mapping method is offered and then SWRL inference and SPARQL query based on the ontology are employed to extract interest blog communities.

In this paper, convert in RDF triple and a RDF document through RDF document converters and design metadata schema about a digital camcorder after use Wrapper technology, and acquiring commodity information of a HTML page about the digital camcorder which these papers are defined so as to be different by electronic commerce stores, and is expressed. Save in digital camcorder domain ontology storage that implemented to relational database to DCC knowledge base ontology as convert to OWL Web ontology based on designed metadata schema. Through compare with rdf and DCCKBO, mapping, and inference process, provide to buyers by DCC information of the store that had the commodity purchasing information which is the best, and proposed a dynamic Web ontology guessed to contents of the best commodity purchasing information, and to define domain ontology saved in DCCKBO.

In Traditional Oriental Medicine, there has been a growing needs for computerized diagnosis expert system, which can implement pre-diagnosis and correct the errors of practitioners. Therefore, we developed the expert system (KHU-PIPE : Kyung Hee University - Pattern Identification and Prescription Expert) for diagnosis and treatment. It has three characteristics as following. First. this system has the knowledge base which modified the standardized data designed by Chinese government during 1980s. Second, it provides the objective and standardized diagnosis as the results of pattern identification and their appropriate prescriptions for treatment. Third, it is applied to both LAN system and internet. Furthermore, it can be used as an educational methods for the practices of pattern identification and prescription, and provide the objective criteria for clinical studies and promote the Traditional Oriental Medicine as an evidence-based medicine.

Professional knowledge such as legal information is commonly not accessible or cannot be easily understood by the public. By using the legal ontology which is previously established, the legal information retrieval based on ontology is to use for the information retrieval. In this paper, we propose the matters required for the design and develop of the framework for the legal information retrieval based on ontology. The framework is composed of the query conversion engine of SPARQL base for query to OWL ontology and user query type engine and return value refinement engine and web interface engine. The framework does the role as the infrastructure which retrieval the legal ontology effectually and which it serves and can be used in the semantic legal information retrieval service.

Traditional information services do not provide information which meets end-users' information need. Therefore, the purpose of this paper Is to budd a WWW research consulting system of supporting researchers on the project base, in order to provide more efficient information service, and to evaluate an efficiency of the proposed system. The system consists of two modules, including an information consulting, and a knowledge base module. The proposed system can be utilized as a component of a digital library system, and also can be used as an education and information system which connects between educators and students In the distance education environment.

본 논문에서는 학생들에게 자신의 진로결정에 도움이 될 수 있는 비교과 및 교과 정보 제공 시스템을 제안한다. 이는 교수들의 학생 수강지도에 활용되어 정확한 진로 지도에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 이러한 시스템을 구현하기 위하여, 온톨로지 기반 지식베이스를 구축한다. 온톨로지 지식베이스는 강의, 역량, 능력단위, 직무, 기업 정보로 구성이 되어있으며 유지보수가 쉬운 구조로 설계하였다. 또한 온톨로지 지식베이스가 가진 정보로 새로운 지식들을 추론한다. 이 추론 결과를 웹 인터페이스를 활용해, 사용자가 개념들 간의 관계를 파악하고 자신에게 맞는 과목 및 직무를 추천받을 수 있도록 한다.

Electronic commerce system must provide information satisfying customers. In order to derive hidden Information (concept subsumption, concept satisfiability and realization) of OWL ontologies, a number of OWL reasoners have been introduced. Most of the reasoners were implemented to be based on tableau algorithm. However this approach has certain limitation. This paper presents architecture for Medusa. The Medusa is an extended DL-reasoner for SWRL(Semantic Web Rule Language) reasoning under well-founded semantics with ontologies specified in Description Logic. Description logic based ontology reasoners theoretically explore knowledge representation and its reasoning in concept languages. However these logics are not equipped with rule-based reasoning mechanisms for assertional knowledge base; specifically, rule and facts in logic programming, or interaction of rules and facts with terminology. In order to deal with the enriched reasoning, The Medusa provides combining DL-knowledge base and rule based reasoner. The described prototype uses $Prot{\acute{e}}g{\acute{e}}$ API[1] for controlling communication with the ontology reasoner.
